Selangor's PLATS programme records RM10mil in sales
Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, Head of the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) Foundation, said the figure reflects the success of various initiatives under the programme.
"Based on our data, the Agrobank PLATS Ramadan Bazaar alone generated around RM8 million in sales," he told a press conference yesterday.
"Additionally, data from the point-of-sale device system provided to our entrepreneurs shows nearly RM3 million in transactions."
To date, 88,000 entrepreneurs have joined PLATS, edging closer to the target of 100,000 set by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
The programme primarily supports micro-entrepreneurs, including hawkers and small retailers, particularly in the food and beverage and service sectors.
Ahmad Azri added that the foundation is collaborating with the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) to help entrepreneurs expand into international markets.
"We'll be heading to Shanghai this November to explore opportunities for marketing our products there, as well as in the Middle East," he said. - BERNAMA

Selangor affordable housing projects are of quality, says MB
SHAH ALAM: The quality of Selangor's affordable housing projects has improved, driven by healthy competition among developers, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. Speaking to reporters at the key handover ceremony for the Idaman Bukit Jelutong condominium today, he said that in the past, common issues included poor housing conditions, substandard walls and windows. 'But this time, the specifications are high while the price remains below the national threshold,' he said. For example, he said the Idaman homes come with wardrobes, television sets, refrigerators, air conditioning, and two parking spaces. 'I believe this is the only such high-specification affordable housing project in Malaysia,' he said. At the same time, Amirudin said Selangor's affordable housing projects will maintain the RM250,000 price cap through a scale-driven partnerships. 'We secure economies of scale through volume. Project partners are awarded several projects rather than just one to enable them to keep costs down.' With this approach, he said the developers can maintain the price point while still earning a reasonable though not high margin, and providing complete specifications. Amirudin said the construction process of Idaman Bukit Jelutong, including the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) and Certificate of Fitness applications, took about three years in total. 'Although construction was completed five months ahead of schedule, the certification process requires some time.' 'The initiative, which has already been realised in Kajang, Bandar Saujana Putra, and Dengkil, is now also available in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam,' he added. Idaman Bukit Jelutong was developed by Gagasan Nadi Cergas Bhd in partnership with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB), which is a subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated. PNSB acted as the strategic partner under the Rumah Idaman initiative, while Gagasan Nadi Cergas was the main developer responsible for construction and delivery.

Bursa Malaysia CDS account statements, notices to go fully electronic from Aug 25
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd will implement the full adoption of electronic Central Depository System (CDS) account statements and notices (eStatements) for individual depositors effective Aug 25. The exchange said in a statement today that the transition aims to enhance investor experience by providing faster and more secure access to CDS account-related information, while also reflecting its broader commitment to environmental sustainability. Notwithstanding this, Bursa Malaysia will continue to issue hardcopy CDS statements and notices to specified depositors at no cost. 'Depositors aged 70 and above (born in 1955 or earlier) will continue to receive printed statements, and no action is required on their part. Those aged between 65 and 69 may submit a written request to their stockbrokers. This option is also available to depositors with disabilities. 'Depositors residing in areas with limited internet connectivity or those facing difficulties in accessing eStatements, as may be recognised by Bursa Malaysia on a case-by-case basis, may continue to receive printed copies,' it said. It said that those specified depositors who qualify and wish to opt in to receive hardcopy CDS statements and notices may approach their respective stockbrokers with supporting documents. Bursa Malaysia said other depositors who prefer to continue receiving hardcopy CDS statements and notices may subscribe at any time through their respective stockbrokers. 'A monthly fee of RM10 will apply, which will be channelled towards charitable purposes administered by Yayasan Bursa Malaysia, the exchange's charitable foundation,' it said. It said depositors who have not made the transition to eStatements should do so through any of the related Bursa Malaysia platforms. Amirudin hands over Idaman Bukit Jelutong homes to 1,260 owners
SHAH ALAM: A total of 1,260 units of Idaman Bukit Jelutong affordable homes were officially handed over to their owners today. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the project, developed by Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad in collaboration with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB), is part of the state government's ongoing commitment to enhancing the well-being of the people by providing high-quality, comfortable, and well-equipped affordable homes. . He said the condominium-style affordable housing is among the highest-specification housing ever implemented, making Selangor the only state government to offer affordable housing below the national threshold price of RM250,000 per unit. 'The specifications we set are quite unit comes with a kitchen cabinet, wardrobe, refrigerator, water heater, air conditioning, television, and two parking spaces. Amirudin added that 8,352 more units are currently under construction across nine projects in Petaling, Sabak Bernam, Gombak, and Sepang, and are expected to be fully completed within three years. Idaman Bukit Jelutong is the first Rumah Idaman project developed by Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad, which is also responsible for Idaman Kwasa Damansara and Idaman Amani in Bandar Elmina.
