Cork €500,000 EuroMillions Plus winner yet to claim prize after buying ticket at Lidl
One lucky Cork lotto player is €500,000 better off this morning, after winning the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw.
The draw, which took place yesterday, saw a player, who purchased their ticket in Youghal, scooping the top prize of €500,000, after matching the five numbers drawn at random last night at Lotto HQ in Dublin.
Five was the magic number, featuring in three of the five numbers pulled out, which were 5, 25, 28, 35, and 49.
Not that the winning player was superstitious around numbers, theirs was a Quick Pick ticket, purchased last Saturday (April 26) from Lidl on the Mill Road in the East Cork town.
The National Lottery is now urging all players in the Cork area to check their tickets carefully and if you're holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.
It's Cork's second top prize win this year in the EuroMillions Plus draw, with the €500,000 top prize from 21st March also won in the county, where the winning ticket was sold at Dunnes Stores in Ballyvolane Shopping Centre.
'This is the 14th EuroMillions Plus win so far in 2025,' said Darragh O'Dwyer from the National Lottery. 'In total over 42,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws.'

Louth lotto syndicate of 11 tradesmen wins €255,000 EuroMillions
The syndicate are 'Jacks of All Trades', made up of builders, plumbers, electricians, and engineers that have been playing together for five years. The group has stuck to a simple system: one group chat, one EuroMillions ticket each, three lines with the Plus, and everyone keeping an eye on every ticket. On this occasion, their winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased by head of the syndicate, Richard O'Brien, at Applegreen, Newfoundwell Road, Greenbatter, Drogheda, Co. Louth, on the day of the draw. That ticket held the all-important raffle number: I-SDL-14299, and Richard said he initially thought they won a modest €5,000. Typically, every EuroMillions draw produces ten winners of the €5,000 Ireland-Only Raffle prize, but last month players have the chance to win an additional €250,000. 'One of the lads said, 'check again, we've won a lot more than that. There's a special raffle on'. I thought he was pulling my leg until I looked it up. That's when I saw we'd won an extra €250,000.
