Moment armed police shoot and kill dog after child mauled and cop bitten in terrifying attack in back garden

Cops were called to a house on Middle Oxford Street after the horror attack on the child at around 2.20pm.
Video released by West Yorkshire Police shows the moment police attempt to safely capture two loose dogs discovered at the address.
While trying to sedate the animals, one of the officers was injured after being bitten by a "persistently aggressive" black dog.
Armed cops were then called in to shoot the out-of-control pet.
Footage shows the officer firing two shots at the animal, sending another dog sprinting across the garden.
It was later secured and taken to police kennels.
A 29-year-old woman was arrested and a man has been charged with being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog as police continue to probe the daylight incident.
He is set to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on 8 July.
In a statement, West Yorkshire police said: 'Police were called at 2:20pm on Saturday to a report that a child had been bitten by a dog at an address in Middle Oxford Street.
"The child was taken to hospital with puncture wounds to both arms.
'There were two dogs at the property and a number of measures were taken, including sedation, in attempts to safely secure them.
"Enquiries were also made with local vets for assistance, but none were available.

'A dog handler was bitten by one of the dogs, suffering injuries to a finger.
"Due to the continued aggression shown by one of the dogs, it was despatched by a specially trained firearms officer. The other dog was secured and taken to police kennels.
'Levi Lynch, aged 25, of Hastings Crescent, Castleford, has been charged with the offence of being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control causing injury.
"He is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on 8 July.
'A 29-year-old woman was also arrested and has been released under investigation."

THIS is the horrifying moment a thug pulled out a machete during a mass brawl in the middle of a residential street. The brawl broke out on Showell Green Lane in Sparkhill, Birmingham at around 7.30pm on August 13. 7 7 7 7 One of the men involved in the fight is wielding a machete, which he uses to try and stab two of the men. The man rushes into the fight, knife drawn, as he tries to slash at a man wearing a white vest. It appears to strike him on the back before the assailant walks away from the brawl. As a group of men tumble to the ground during the fight, the knife-wielding thug can be seen standing near the bus stop. He begins waving the knife in the air as the fight escalates. Once some of the men get up from the ground and start walking away, the man with the knife rushes towards the two still struggling. Another man intervenes, moving him to the other side of the road as the fight breaks apart. A backlog of cars has piled up as the mass brawl blocks the road. The cause of the fight is currently unknown after it broke out in a garden, with other men brawling in the road. Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured despite attempts by the man wielding the weapon. One unnamed witness said: "It was like a Wild West saloon brawl, there were bodies everywhere as the men rolled around the ground fighting." They said that the men had been "talking in a quite animated way" before the fight broke out. "From then on it was just carnage. All hell broke loose. There were fights breaking out all over the place." They added that the area is mostly populated by families, and that fighting like this is "pretty shameful". Although the witness didn't see the weapon during the fight, he said after seeing the video: "It's frightening to think that there are morons like this walking around with weapons - he could easily have killed someone or caused them serious injury." 7 7 Another resident said that they were afraid to go out at night because of how dangerous the streets have become. Witnesses in the video can be heard criticising the group. One can be heard saying "Take the beef home" while another adds "F***ing stupid". The fight ends just as quickly as it began, with most of the men driving away. Following the brawl, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said that four men, aged 23, 22, and two aged 20, had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. Lucy Connolly has suffered at hands of the British state – let's hope Brits wake up to this attack on their free speech
I WAS glad to see Lucy Connolly finally walk free today, but the fact that she has spent more than a year in prison for a single tweet -- quickly deleted and apologised for -- is a national scandal, particularly when Labour MPs, councillors and anti-racism campaigners who have said and done much worse have avoided jail. The same latitude they enjoyed should have been granted to Lucy. Sir Keir Starmer said in May that Lucy's sentence was justified because her tweet was 'incitement to violence against other people'. But was it? The test we employ when deciding whether to prosecute someone for supposedly inciting violence should be the same as it is in the United States, namely, was it intended to cause violence and was it likely to? I don't think Lucy's tweet met either limb of that test (and for speech not to be protected by the First Amendment in America it has to meet both). Had she urged her followers to burn down a particular asylum hotel, maybe it would have failed those tests. But she did not and she added the words 'for all I care', suggesting she was indifferent as to whether asylum hotels in general were burnt down and not inciting people to set fire to them. Had she pleaded not guilty, she might well have been acquitted by a jury, just as the ex-Royal Marine Jamie Michael was after being charged with the same offence. The Free Speech Union, the organisation I run, paid for Jamie's defence and we offered to pay for Lucy's. But unlike Ricky Jones, the Labour councillor who urged people to cut the throats of anti-immigration protestors, she was not granted bail and worried that if she pleaded not guilty she would have to spend longer in prison awaiting trial than if she pleaded guilty. As it turned out, she was wrong about that, but then she was not expecting to be sentenced to more than two-and-half years, which is longer than some members of grooming gangs have received after pleading guilty to child rape. What Lucy has suffered at the hands of the British state is a clear case of injustice. She has become Exhibit A for those of us raising the alarm about the assault on free speech in Starmer's Britain. For months ministers have insisted they have been cutting the use of hotels for illegal migrants. 1 In fact, numbers in them have gone UP in the last year. — another record — as 51,000 arrived on small boats. That's a 38 per cent increase in just 12 months. At the current rate, 181,000 may have come here illegally by the next election. The figures also reveal thousands are being quietly placed in blocks of flats among families in cities across the country, adding to the housing crisis. Worse, there is clearly widespread abuse of the legal migration system. More than HALF of asylum claims are from foreigners granted a student or work visa only to suddenly claim persecution in their home country when it expires. It should be obvious that anyone who comes here as a student or to work should be automatically banned from claiming asylum later. Sweden has cracked down on asylum rules. It has made language and culture tests harder, ramped up deportations and put failed asylum seekers in detention centres. Why can't our Government do the same? Cry freedom LUCY Connolly should never have served a year behind bars alongside drug dealers and murderers for a nasty tweet. What she published during last year's riots may have been unpleasant. But mum Connolly clearly immediately regretted the post and swiftly deleted it Her crime was never worthy of a 31-month sentence. As a comparison, Palestinian Hamas supporter Abu Wadee, who arrived illegally on a small boat and posted calls for the slaughter of British Jews, got just nine months. Childminder Lucy, also denied bail, has become a symbol for those who believe she was a victim of politically motivated two-tier justice. Did she really deserve her life and family to be so devastatingly torn apart? White trashed WHAT is the plan to help white, working class kids do better at school? Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson should be concerned by yet another overall fall in the GCSE pass rate. More concerning is the catastrophic performance of poor, white children — especially boys. Many will now join the ranks of the one million 16 to 24-year-olds currently not in work, education or training,
