Biden administration accused of funding 'Israeli' protests against Netanyahu

The Biden-Harris administration is facing accusations of indirectly funding protests in 'Israel' against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Oct. 7, 2023. A memo released by the House Judiciary Committee alleges that US taxpayer dollars were funneled to organizations involved in demonstrations opposing Netanyahu's proposed judicial reforms. "The Committee's oversight has revealed that the Biden-Harris Administration provided grant funds to groups that contributed directly and indirectly to the judicial reform protests that sought to undermine the Israeli government," the committee wrote. Netanyahu amplified the allegations by posting a chart from the memo on his X account, accusing Washington of political interference. "An official document published by the US Congress reveals astonishing information that confirms what many have long suspected: the previous US administration transferred nearly a billion dollars to left-wing NGOs in Israel, with the aim of undermining the rule of the government," Netanyahu wrote in Hebrew. — Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) July 18, 2025 - Congressional investigation into NGOs - The Judiciary Committee, along with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, sent letters in March to six American and 'Israeli' NGOs demanding documents related to grants from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department. So far, 380 documents have been submitted. The organizations under scrutiny are Blue White Future (BWF), Movement for Quality Government in Israel (MQG), PEF Israel Endowment Funds, Jewish Communal Fund (JCF), Middle East Peace Dialogue Network (MEPDN), and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. According to the committee's memo: BWF allegedly received funds through NGOs supported by US grants and financed protest coalition headquarters. The Biden-Harris administration reportedly provided USD 42,000 to MQG for activism training in Israeli high schools. PEF Israel Endowment Funds allegedly channeled over USD 884 million to groups involved in protests. Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is accused of directing portions of USD 20 million in federal grants to protest-related organizations. JCF allegedly contributed USD 42.8 million to protest headquarters and major funders. - Reactions - BWF strongly rejected the claims. "Blue White Future categorically rejects the false and groundless allegations concerning its funding and activities," said CEO Rotem Perelman-Farhi in a statement to Fox News. "No state entity, administration, or government body — American or otherwise (USAID included) — has ever provided funding to the organization, whether directly or indirectly. All donations to the organization originate from private donors who care deeply about Israel's security and its future." JCF, while cooperating with the investigation, disputed the memo's findings, arguing that private donors control its donor-advised funds. "JCF makes grants at the recommendation of underlying donors and, as such, distributions from DAFs at JCF reflect the wishes of underlying donors," the group said. - Context of the protests - Before October 7, 'Israel' was engulfed in mass protests over Netanyahu's judicial overhaul, which critics said threatened democratic checks and balances. Former President Joe Biden had publicly voiced concern at the time. "Like many strong supporters of Israel, I'm very concerned. I'm concerned that they get this straight. They cannot continue down this road. I've sort of made that clear," Biden said in March 2023.

Houthis announce ballistic missile strike on Lod Airport with ‘Palestine-2' warhead

In a statement released on Friday, the Yemeni Armed Forces, Houthis, announced the launch of a ballistic hypersonic missile named 'Palestine-2' targeting Lod Airport in the occupied city of Jaffa. The statement described the strike as a 'qualitative military operation' carried out by Yemen's missile force in retaliation for what it called 'the genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against our brothers in Gaza.' According to the statement, the strike was successful and resulted in the disruption of airport activity and the movement of 'millions of Zionist settlers' to shelters. The armed forces urged people across the Arab and Islamic world to rise in support of the people of Gaza, calling the situation 'a painful siege and a criminal aggression.' The statement concluded with a vow to continue operations until the war on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted. 'Israel's Home Front Command reported earlier on Friday that air raid sirens were activated in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and several other areas following the detection of a missile launch from Yemen. In a brief statement, the 'Israeli' army confirmed: 'We have detected the launch of a missile from Yemen.'

VIDEO: Abu Obaida issues first statement in over four months

Abu Obaida, spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, appeared in a newly released video on Friday, marking his first public statement since March 6, 2025. In the video, he said four months had passed since the 'Israeli' military resumed its aggression on Gaza, accusing 'Israel' of betraying the terms of a previously agreed deal with the resistance. He said that 'Israel' violated the truce and overturned commitments made during negotiations, leading to a renewed escalation in the aggression, in reference to "Israel's" surprise attack on Gaza in March during a declared ceasefire between the two parties. Abu Obaida said Al-Qassam fighters have killed or wounded hundreds of 'Israeli' soldiers in recent months, while thousands more have reportedly suffered psychological trauma and shock. He added that the resistance has introduced new tactics and methods, drawing lessons from what he described as the longest war in the history of the Palestinian people. He revealed that fighters have attempted several operations in recent weeks aimed at capturing 'Israeli' soldiers. Capturing soldiers has been a long-standing goal for the group, often used to negotiate prisoner exchanges. Abu Obaida described Gaza's armed resistance as 'the greatest military school for a people resisting occupation in modern history,' affirming that they remain fully prepared to continue a prolonged war of attrition against the occupation, regardless of the form or strategy of future assaults. He said the current strategy of Al-Qassam's leadership is to inflict maximum losses on 'Israeli' forces, carry out high-impact operations, and pursue the capture of soldiers. In a regional message, he strongly criticized Arab leaders for their silence, saying: 'The enemy would not have committed genocide in full view of the nation's leaders unless it was assured of impunity, guaranteed silence, and bought betrayal.' He stressed that no one was exempt from the responsibility of the bloodshed: 'We do not absolve anyone. Everyone who can act, according to their ability and influence, must do so.' He also praised Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthis), calling them 'truthful brothers' who forced the enemy to face a new front and 'exposed the cowardice of those who remain passive.' Abu Obaida extended his thanks to 'all the free people around the world' who have shown solidarity and attempted to break the siege on Gaza despite risks. He reiterated support for the Palestinian negotiating delegation in indirect talks with 'Israel,' stating that Hamas had offered a comprehensive deal to release all enemy captives at once. 'War criminal Netanyahu and his ministers rejected our offer. It became clear they are not interested in the fate of their soldiers,' he said, accusing the 'Israeli' leadership of preparing the public for the possibility that all prisoners might be dead. He concluded by expressing hope that the ongoing negotiations would lead to a deal ensuring an end to what he called a 'genocidal war,' the withdrawal of occupying forces, and urgent humanitarian relief for Gaza.
