Stagwell (STGW) Appoints Connie Chan as Chief Growth Officer for Asia Pacific
SINGAPORE, May 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, today announced the appointment of Connie Chan as Chief Growth Officer, Asia Pacific, effective July 2025. Based in Singapore, Chan will be responsible for leading Stagwell's growth strategy and operations across APAC markets, with a focus on accelerating transformation, scaling integrated capabilities, and deepening relationships in local markets.
This appointment builds on Stagwell's growth momentum across APAC on the heels of acquiring ADK GLOBAL earlier this year. Stagwell APAC now encompasses 2,500 employees across 34 APAC offices.
Chan will report to Ryan Linder, EVP, Global Chief Marketing Officer. "As the global marketing landscape continues to shift, Asia Pacific stands out as a region of extraordinary opportunity. Connie's leadership will be instrumental as we build a network that not only responds to the complexity of today, but sets the pace for what's next," said Linder.
"Connie doesn't just drive growth. She builds momentum that breaks the sound barrier," said Randy Duax, Stagwell's Managing Director, Asia Pacific. "We've spent the last three years building the kind of platform the holding companies said couldn't be done—media, creative, strategy and PR moving as one, built for speed, wired for scale. Connie isn't here to learn the playbook. She's here to call the next play."
Chan brings a track record of transformative leadership spanning decades in media, marketing, and strategic communications. Most recently, she served as CEO of OMD China, where she oversaw the agency's operations in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, with a focus on driving growth and creativity, and inspiring teams with a strong focus on culture. Prior to that, Chan held leadership roles at WPP, including Executive Director of the Government & Public Sector Practice in Singapore, and Chief Client Officer for APAC at MEC (now Wavemaker), focusing on strategic client partnerships.
Upon her appointment, Chan reflected, "I've always believed in the power of strategic clarity and bold ideas. At Stagwell, we have the talent, the ambition, and the platform to build work that matters – and impact that endures."

KT&G will expand dividend schemes based on share repurchase, continuing growing dividend trend in line with profit
- Interim dividend raised by 200 KRW to 1,400 KRW—more resources for dividend based on higher profit and fewer outstanding shares - Major company that has maintained or increased dividend payout annually since listing, highly regarded for strong shareholder return programs SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- KT&G posted strong results on the 7th, with first half revenue exceeding 3 trillion KRW and revenue and operating profit recording third consecutive quarter of growth. Particularly, the global cigarette segment achieved five consecutive quarters of "triple growth" in revenue, operating profit, and sales volume. Revenue, sales volume, and adjusted operating profit each grew 30.6%, 9.1%, and 51.1% respectively, continuing the high-growth momentum. Furthermore, KT&G resolved to raise the interim dividend by 200 KRW to 1,400 KRW per share. Through the Q2 earnings report session, the company stated that it would reflect the dividend growth trend in its shareholder return program based on a comprehensive review of share repurchases & cancellation, profit growth, share prices, and other factors. Since its initial listing in 1999, KT&G has continued dividend payout for 26 consecutive years, either maintaining or increasing the amount every year. The recent three year's dividend per share trend is also a continuously growing one, with 5,000 KRW in 2022, 5,200 KRW in 2023, and 5,400 KRW in 2024. KT&G has yet again announced a raise in the interim dividend through the Q2 earnings report session, stating that it will continue to reflect the growth trend in its dividend policy. During the Q2 earnings report session held on the 7th, KT&G CFO Sang-Hak Lee stated that "the board resolved to raise the interim dividend by 200 KRW to 1,400 KRW—from 1,200 KRW last year—based on steady first half results," further stating "we will continue to make room for dividend growth through share repurchases and positively consider dividend payout linked to stock-price growth." He went on to further emphasize that "to the greatest extent possible, KT&G will reflect the dividend growth trend in its dividend policies considering Q3, Q4, and annual profit growth trends." Between 2024 to 2027, KT&G is implementing bold shareholder return policies to cancel 20% of issued shares (including newly repurchased shares). Accordingly, the number of outstanding shares continues to decline while the total annual dividend payout remains around 580 to 590 billion KRW, creating more room for per-share dividend growth. KT&G also announced its Double-Digit annual operating growth target during the earnings report session. Considering the decrease in dividend yield due to growing stock prices, the possibility of increased annual dividend per share is getting higher. The finance sector also foresees a sharp rise in dividends regarding KT&G's growing dividend trends. Through the report "Robust 2Q25; Higher dividend upside", Morgan Stanley analyst Kelly Kim projected that "as the management is taking dividend yield and rising earnings into consideration, we think there could be even further upside to our DPS assumption (W5,800)." Nvidia Asks Suppliers to Halt H20 Work, Information Says
(Bloomberg) -- Nvidia Corp. has instructed component suppliers including Samsung Electronics Co. and Amkor Technology Inc. to stop production related to the H20 AI chip, The Information reported, citing unidentified sources. Nvidia issued those orders this week after Beijing urged local companies to avoid using the H20, the Information said, referring to a chip designed specifically for the Chinese market. The US company's shares slid about 1.9% on alternative trading system Blue Ocean during the Asia morning, said Kok Hoong Wong, head of institutional equities sales trading at Maybank Securities. Why New York City Has a Fleet of New EVs From a Dead Carmaker Trump Takes Second Swing at Cutting Housing Assistance for Immigrants Neom's Desert Ski Resort Strains Saudi Prince's $1.5 Trillion Plan Chicago Schools Seeks $1 Billion of Short-Term Debt as Cash Gone We Need a Reality Check on Crime, Safety and Transit A production suspension would raise questions about fundamental demand for the H20, a less-powerful version of Nvidia's cutting-edge AI accelerators that competes with capable chips from the likes of Huawei Technologies Co. and Cambricon Technologies Corp. The latter company's shares soared as much as 10% Friday, while fellow Chinese chip stocks rallied. Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. both recently secured Washington's approval to resume lower-end AI chip sales to China, on the controversial and legally questionable condition that they give the US government a 15% cut of the related revenue. But their Chinese customers are under pressure to adopt homegrown chips instead — part of a broader objective to build a world-class domestic industry and wean the country off US technology. In past weeks, Chinese authorities have sent notices to a range of firms discouraging use of the less-advanced semiconductors, Bloomberg News has reported. That followed warnings about alleged security risks in the H20, after Washington officials said they were considering ways to equip chips with better location-tracking capabilities. Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang on Friday said he was surprised when Beijing expressed those concerns, and reiterated that the H20 houses no such features nor backdoors. Huang, who was in Taiwan to discuss his upcoming Rubin chip with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., said Nvidia's in talks with Washington about a potential follow-up to the H20 for China, though that depended on the Trump administration. 'Offering a new product to China for AI data centers — the follow-on to the H20 — that's not our decision to make. It's up to of course the US government,' Huang told reporters during an impromptu briefing at the airport. 'We're in dialogue with them but it's too soon to know.' Nvidia — which is due to report earnings next week — has repeatedly denied it builds backdoors or location-tracking into its product. 'We constantly manage our supply chain to address market conditions,' an Nvidia spokesperson said in response to the Information report. 'As both governments recognize, the H20 is not a military product or for government infrastructure. China won't rely on American chips for government operations, just like the US government would not rely on chips from China. However, allowing US chips for beneficial commercial business use is good for everyone.' It's unclear whether the Information's story relates to new production of the H20 or stockpiles of unfinished AI accelerators. Semi-finished semiconductors are 'piling up' at Amkor, which packages chips for customers like Nvidia, the Information reported. Representatives for Amkor didn't immediately respond to requests for comment after normal hours. A Samsung representative declined to comment. Nvidia, which wrote off $5.5 billion of H20 chips for China after the Trump administration decided to ban the product, is still sitting on unsold inventory. Huang has said the US reversal of that ban over the summer could help Nvidia recover some but not all of that writedown.
