Army supporting police search of Armagh property after man arrested over bomb discoveries

The PSNI is carrying out a search at a property in south Armagh after a man was arrested following the discovery of a number of bombs in the Republic of Ireland.
The Army is supporting the PSNI search at Tassagh Road, Keady.
The PSNI confirmed their search was linked to an ongoing investigation by An Garda Síochána.
It's understood detectives are also exploring a possible link to a hoax device discovered in Milford, Co Armagh on July 1.
Gardai said the arrest came as part of the investigation into the discovery of a number of attempted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the north-east and south-west of the Republic.
The man, aged in his 40s was arrested during an operation in Co Monaghan on Sunday evening.
The man remained detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at a Garda Station in the north-western region.
Detention under section 30 can initially last up to 24 hours excluding breaks and can be extended for a further two days under approval by a superintendent or the courts.
An Garda Siochana said it was liaising with the PSNI in relation to the probe.

Three people hospitalised with serious injuries following horror two-car crash
Three people have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Co Antrim. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) received a report that a Seat Arona and Honda Civic were involved in a collision near the Ardmore Park junction in the Finaghy Road North area of south Belfast at approximately 1.30pm on Monday afternoon. The driver of the Honda Civic, a man in his 30s, was injured in the collision, as was the other driver, aged in his 70s, and his passenger, a woman in her late 60s. The emergency services were called to the scene and all three individuals were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries which, at this time, are serious but not believed to be life-threatening. The PSNI has said it is trying to establish "the circumstances leading up to this collision" and is appealing to anyone with any information to contact them. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a two-vehicle serious collision in the Finaghy Road North area of south Belfast on Monday afternoon, 14th July. "Around 1.30pm, it was reported that a Seat Arona and Honda Civic were in collision near the Ardmore Park junction. "We are investigating the circumstances leading up to this collision in this residential area. We would appeal to anyone who was in the area, who may have witnessed this or the events leading up to it, to contact us. We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a third car, possibly white in colour, seen in the area at the time of the collision. Two teenagers arrested after shots fired at home in Midlands
A garda spokesman also appealed for any witnesses who were in the Ardleigh Park area of the town at the time of the shooting to come forward to them. Two teenagers have been arrested after shots were fired at a home in Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Monday afternoon. The shooting occurred at approximately 1.40pm and no injuries were reported at the time. Gardai said they have arrested the two males in connection with 'an incident involving the discharge of a firearm at a residential location.' A garda spokesman also appealed for any witnesses who were in the Ardleigh Park area of the town close to the time of the shooting to come forward to them. "Two male youths, aged in their late teens, were subsequently arrested and are currently detained pursuant to Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda Station in the Co. Westmeath area,' the spokesman said. 'Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. 'Any persons who were in the Ardleigh Park area of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Monday 14th July 2025 and who may have witnessed the incident should contact investigating Gardaí. Any road users who were travelling in this vicinity at the time, and who may have camera footage including dash cam, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
