Nashville (14-5-5), which won its ninth home game this season, set a franchise record for wins during the regular season, topping 13 set in 2022 and '23.
Nashville is unbeaten in its last six matches against Toronto (5-12-6), outscoring the Canadian side 8-3. Nashville is also undefeated (3-0-0) against Toronto when Surridge scores.
Surridge scored in the 28th minute. Goalkeeper Sean Johnson made a diving save of Hany Mukhtar's left-footed shot outside of the box but it spilled to Surridge for an easy finish.
Surridge became the 10th player in MLS history to score at least 18 goals in his team's first 24 games of a season and the first to do so since Carlos Vela and Josef Martínez in 2019.

'But we're going for more: this is the first step toward applying again to host Formula 1,' he added. To host the MotoGP event, the capital committed to a complete renovation of the municipal racetrack in October. Racing legends like Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher competed there in the past. The German driver won the last F1 race there, in 1998. The work on the circuit will include the track, pits, paddock, bumpers and safety zones, according to the Buenos Aires City Hall. Organizers estimate that MotoGP will have a direct economic impact on the city of approximately $150 million. It will also generate jobs in sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, transportation, and services. Santa Clara extends coach Herb Sendek's contract through 2029-30 season
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Santa Clara basketball coach Herb Sendek signed a contract extension on Monday that will keep him at the school through the 2029-30 season. Athletic director Heather Owen said she believes Sendek is the right person to lead the Broncos' program. 'I have been impressed with his ability to navigate the ever-changing landscape that is college athletics while remaining true to our Santa Clara values,' she said in a statement. 'He is one of the best teachers in the game and we are grateful to have him as the leader of our program.' Sendek was originally hired in 2016 and is set to enter his 10th season at the helm for Santa Clara. He has a 161-120 record for the Broncos and has the fourth most wins in program history. The Broncos have won at least 20 games in five of the past six seasons, falling short only in the COVID-shortened 20-game campaign in 2020-21. Santa Clara has finished in the top four in the West Coast Conference in four straight seasons. Sendek has a 574-415 career record at Miami of Ohio, N.C. State, Arizona State and Santa Clara.
