A new number ten has arrived at Manchester City
With Jack Grealish having completed a loan move to Everton for the 25/26 season, the number ten was vacant at Manchester City. If any player in the City squad was suited to the number ten, it was Rayan Cherki. The club have today announced that Cherki will wear the number this season. It's a number that suits the French international and his style of play. It is almost the perfect fit for a player who could be Manchester City's most exciting summer signing. Rayan Cherki will wear the number ten for Manchester City. As mentioned above, Manchester City have confirmed the shirt number that Rayan Cherki will wear for the 25/26 season. He will take the 10 shirt vacated by Jack Grealish. It is a number that seems to suit Cherki as a player. Especially considering the strengths of Cherki's game. Grealish leaves City as a treble winner in the number 10, Cherki will be hoping to be just as successful in terms of trophies won at City as Grealish was. Rayan Cherki can potentially be one of the most exciting City players for some time. As a player, Rayan Cherki could be one of the most exciting players Manchester City has had for some time. The French international is a player with almost unparalleled technical ability. His dribbling skills and touch are mesmerising, and Cherki is a magician with his passing ability. Cherki can also produce the spectacular in terms of his goal scoring. After arriving at Manchester City from Lyon, he arrives with all of the talent and potential to mesmerise crowds and City's opponents next season. Cherki could be the ultimate lock pick for Pep Guardiola's side Rayan Cherki will wear the number ten for Manchester City next season. Just like Erling Haaland who took the number nine shirt when he arrived at the club, it feels right to see Cherki in the number ten.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth prediction, best bets & betting tips
Liverpool vs Bournemouth tips: Liverpool to win to nil - 11/8 Bet365 Hugo Ekitike to score first - 17/4 BetVictor Champions Liverpool kick off their Premier League season on Friday night, when they face Bournemouth at Anfield. The Reds' season got underway last weekend when they were beaten on penalties by Crystal Palace, in the Community Shield, at Wembley, but they showed, in patches, the kind of form that will stand them in good stead again this season. Arne Slot's side finished 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal in May as they secured their 20th league title. They have spent big this summer bringing in five new players and spending well over £200m, but they have received more than £180m in the sale of seven players. Their spending doesn't appear to be done yet, with a striker and central defender still looking likely before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. With Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz both being sold and the tragic death of Diogo Jota, the Reds still seem light in attack, particularly through the middle, so it's no surprise that the speculation around bringing in Alexander Isak continues. When it comes to the Premier League winner odds it's not a surprise that Liverpool are the favourites for the title at 19/10, ahead of Arsenal at 13/5 and Manchester City at 7/2. Friday's opponents. Bournemouth, are 750/1 and they will face a difficult task to improve on their ninth-placed finish last season, although you can find a price of Premier League top four odds. Liverpool vs Bournemouth betting: Reds to get off to a winning start That impressive season, which saw them win 15 of their 38 games and keep nine clean sheets, resulted in bids for three defenders that they just couldn't turn down. Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid for £50m while Milos Kerkez moved to Liverpool for £40m, back in June, and Illia Zabarnyi has this week joined Paris St Germain for £57m, so it will be interesting to see how they adapt after losing such quality. This is not the type of game they would hope for to kick off the season, especially as they have lost 11 of their last 12 league matches against Liverpool. Their only win came in 2023 when Philip Billing scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win at the Vitality Stadium. Liverpool have kept clean sheets in their last three meetings, but they will need to defend better than they did last weekend, when captain Virgil Van Dijk was to blame for both of Palace's goals in the 2-2 draw. The Reds haven't lost their opening match of the season in their last 12 campaigns, winning nine and drawing three since they were beaten 3-0 by West Brom back at the start of the 2012-13 season. We can't see them slipping up this season either, and it's more a case of how many they will win by. Bizarrely, the Cherries' last opening day defeat also came against the Baggies, when they were beaten 1-0 at the Hawthorns at the start of the 2017/18 campaign. Since then, they have won three and drawn four of their last seven season openers. Football betting sites have installed the Reds as odds-on favourites for the opener, with the Cherries a high-price for the upset in the latest Premier League odds. Liverpool vs Bournemouth prediction 1: Liverpool to win to nil - 11/8 Bet365 Liverpool vs Bournemouth tips: Ekitike to make it two from two Hugo Ekitike had a debut to remember at Wembley on Sunday as he opened the scoring after just four minutes when he combined with fellow debutant Florian Wirtz to fire past Dean Henderson. He should have added to his tally in the second half, but he headed wide from six yards out before firing over from 12 yards. Ekitike is an outside shot in the Premier League top scorer odds, especially considering his strong start to life in a Liverpool shirt. The French striker joined the club from Eintracht Frankfurt for £69m and scored 22 goals last season in the Bundesliga, including two against Bochum and Hoffenheim, as his side finished third in the league. Betting sites are offering 17/4 on him scoring first or last and 11/10 on him scoring at any time. As we saw on Sunday, he likes a quick start, and he could take advantage of the new look Bournemouth defence. 2025-26 Premier League top 4 odds: Will there be a surprise Champions League entrant?
In a strange way, the most exciting aspect of last season's Premier League was the race for Champions League football. The destination of the title and which teams would be relegated became abundantly clear too early to be truly compelling. The Champions League qualification situation became even more intriguing once it was clear the top five would all secure a place. Advertisement Ultimately, Newcastle won the race for fifth and joined Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea in the top five. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest only just missed out, with Brighton not far behind. The reigning champions, Liverpool, are 2/13 to finish in the top four. It seems as close to a certainty as one could find in football. They won the league at a canter during Arne Slot's first season in charge and they've strengthened over the summer, most notably adding Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz. The latter, in particular, should surely be enough to prevent the side going from champions to dropping out of the top four altogether. Arsenal are at odds of 2/11, unsurprising after three successive seasons finishing in second place. The most significant new addition is Viktor Gyökeres, the striker the supporters have been crying out for in the belief it could be the difference between yet another silver medal and actually winning the top prize. There is a feeling that Arsenal are only getting better, so it would be hard to envision them dropping out of the Champions League places. Manchester City finished third last term, a disaster by their impeccably high standards, but there was a point in the season when even a top-four berth seemed unlikely. They rallied and reached the FA Cup final too, but Pep Guardiola would undoubtedly see the campaign as a failure. Still, the club has not missed out on Champions League qualification since 2010 and there is a reason Betfair is offering odds of 2/9 for City to finish in the top four. Betfair have Chelsea at 8/15 to finish in the top four, something they only just managed under Enzo Maresca last season, securing Champions League football on the final day. Optimism abounds, though, especially after an unlikely Club World Cup triumph that few would have predicted before the tournament began. Estêvão's arrival from Palmeiras is a major boon for the Stamford Bridge faithful as the Brazilian starlet looks to impress ahead of the World Cup next summer. Newcastle were the beneficiaries of that additional Champions League place last season, fifth position being good enough to see Eddie Howe's team qualify for Europe's elite club competition. They are 7/2 to go one better and finish in the top four in 2025-26. The big blow is the Alexander Isak situation, given it now seems unlikely the star man will play for Newcastle again. Anthony Elanga's arrival from Nottingham Forest will be a major bonus on the wing, though, as Howe looks to juggle domestic and European competition. Advertisement Perhaps more of a surprise at 7/2 are Manchester United, off the back of a season in which Ruben Amorim's side finished 15th and lost the worst European final in living memory to Tottenham Hotspur. United have looked brighter in pre-season and are boosted by the arrival of attacking talent in the form of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Šeško. This new look front three will surely help United bounce back from a season in which they struggled to score goals for large periods. There is a suggestion that United's spending is not over yet: They could do with a goalkeeper and central midfielder as they look to recapture the glory days of yore. One blessing in disguise could be a lack of European football, given how badly Amorim's players struggled with two games a week last campaign. Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are both 9/2 to end up in the top four. Villa enjoyed a Champions League run last season under Unai Emery and looked like qualifying again for large portions of the campaign. Their biggest signing of the summer is Evann Guessand from Nice, brought in to bolster the forward line. Villa's resurgence under Emery has been one of the great success stories of recent years and they have every chance of qualifying for the Champions League once more. Spurs are the unknown quantity this term. They qualified for the Champions League by winning the dismal Europa League final, but sensibly still decided that the league form was too poor to continue with Ange Postecoglou at the helm. He has been replaced by Thomas Frank after his years of fine work at Brentford. The fixture congestion is not ideal. Nor is the knee injury that will sideline James Maddison indefinitely. Spurs need to recruit, having seemingly missed out on the signature of target Morgan Gibbs-White. Finishing in the top four would be a remarkable achievement for Frank, especially considering Spurs ended last season one place above the relegation zone.
