'A notice has been received by a resident of Falakata and it was sent by the Foreigner's Tribunal of Kokrajhar in Assam. It is not only unethical but Unconstitutional,' Banerjee said.

Anjali Sil, who resides in North Bengal's Falakata, said that she has received the notice though staying in Bengal for the last 20 years. She said, 'My husband was from Assam but he used to work here. We have been staying here for more than 30 years,' Banerjee said.
'How can Assam interfere in Bengal's affairs? Banerjee questioned.
'We have received another letter today. It has come from Haryana, suspecting 52 Bengali-speaking people as Bangladeshis. The District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police in various districts, including Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, Nadia, Murshidabad, Cooch Behar, South 24 Parganas, have been instructed to verify the names of individuals and inform them as per Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines. Is this a deliberate attempt to take control of Bengal? Are they trying to erase Bengal's identity? Is this some kind of linguistic terrorism?' Banerjee said, as she touched upon Bengali 'asmita' once again.

West Bengal launches Rs 8,000 crore initiative to address local civic issues
The West Bengal government on Saturday launched a new outreach programme called Amader Para, Amader Samadhan (Our Neighborhood, Our Solution) to address local civic issues such as roads, drinking water, street lighting and initiative began on Saturday with 632 camps set up across the state on the first day. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that over 27,000 such camps will be held over the next 60 days, covering more than 80,000 polling this Rs 8,000 crore initiative, the state has allocated Rs 10 lakh per booth. Residents can visit their local camps with their voter ID and submit written complaints along with their name, address, ward number, booth number and mobile number. The government has committed to resolving the registered issues by November 15, following a 30 day administrative review after the camp period ends. Among those detained is one Babai Sardar, a resident of Bishnupur, a part of Abhishek's Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency. After Abhishek instructed Bishnupur MLA and state minister Dilip Mondal to send a team, four functionaries of the local TMC leadership left for Mumbai on Saturday evening.
