The hard-partying crypto king accused of sadistically torturing an Italian millionaire for his Bitcoin password appeared haggard as he faced a judge in Manhattan court Friday.
William Duplessie, 33, donned rumpled jail garb in Manhattan Criminal Court as he waited for an indictment to be handed down in the shocking kidnapping case.
The hulking, 6-foot-5-inch Duplessie, along with fellow crypto trader John Woeltz, 37, is accused of holding Turin businessman Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan captive inside a posh SoHo townhouse for nearly three weeks.

Carturan, 28, was subjected to horrific torture, including being cut with a chainsaw, before he made a dramatic escape May 23.
Woeltz was arrested that day in his bathrobe, while Duplessie surrendered this week after partying it up in the Hamptons.

The reputed party animal Duplessie appeared worse for wear during his first court hearing Tuesday, with bags under his eyes and a persistent frown.
The alleged crypto creep, who is being held without bail, still appeared fatigued and disheveled Friday.

Animal control officer is mauled by dog during welfare check in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WFLA) — A Broward County Animal Control officer was hospitalized last week after she was attacked by a dog and suffered serious injuries. The attack happened in the 700 block of Southwest 14th Terrace around 7 p.m. Thursday. According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, the animal control worker, Martina Bernard, was doing a welfare check on an American Staffordshire terrier mix when the dog began to maul her. Police said that a neighbor called 911 after hearing a woman cry for help and seeing the dog with its teeth around her neck. Body camera video shows officers arriving at the scene to find Bernard laying on the ground in the backyard with her face covered in blood. The dog's owner is also seen in the video holding down the dog, which had been stabbed in an attempt to remove it from Bernard. The officer can be heard asking the woman where she was bit, to which she responds, 'All over my head, my face, my breast, my neck.' Bernard was rushed to Broward health Medical Center for treatment. Daughter searching for answers after father killed on motorcycle in South Linden hit-and-run
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – In 2024, the Ohio State Highway Patrol recorded more than 200 motorcycle crash fatalities; one of them was the fatal crash that killed 61-year-old Giancarol Del Vita. It's been almost a year since his daughters, Claire and Audrey, have been without their dad. Claire Del Vita shared her story as she works to navigate this loss. She graduated college in the months before the crash and today she's still searching for answers and pleading with others to watch out for motorcycles on the road. One dead in East Columbus stabbing 'I didn't know how loved he was until after he died, and I wish he could have known how loved he was,' she said. Giancarlo Del Vita was an Italian immigrant working in Columbus as an architect, and one of the things he loved the most was riding his motorcycle. 'My dad loved his bike,' said Claire 'He had a limited edition V7 racer by Moto Guzzi.' It was a hit and run that took his life on July 18, 2024; Columbus police said the driver of a Honda Fit failed to yield, killing Giancarlo at the intersection of Cleveland and Chittenden avenues in South Linden. Giancarlo was wearing his helmet. Several witnesses called 911 following the crash, with some saying they didn't see the car that hit him on the scene. The police report states the driver got out of her car, then got back in and left. 'Video footage caught her getting out of the car, seeing my dad unconscious and getting back in and driving away,' said Claire. Eventually, police were able to track the driver down. The report said the 64-year-old woman driving the Honda did not have a drivers license or insurance at the time of the crash. As of today, nearly 11 months later, the woman has not been charged. 'I just want to know that my dad is going to get justice,' said Claire. As Claire waits for the legal process to play out, she hopes this can now serve as a reminder for other drivers. 'Always look out for motorcycles,' she said. 'I think that goes without saying they have no protection outside of them, and yes, they choose to ride those bikes. But I mean, like for my dad, that's their therapy. They love that.' 'Tell the people you love, you love them,' said Claire. 'I mean, the last time I saw him was three days before the accident. NBC4 reached out to Columbus Police and asked about the status of any charges against the driver of the Honda — they said, 'A recommendation for felony hit-and-run has been made to the prosecutor's office, which will be sent for direct indictment to the grand jury.' Fashion Designer Testifies Diddy Dangled Her Off Balcony, Called Himself 'The Devil'
Back in November 2024, a fashion designer who worked with Sean 'Diddy' in the past sued the mogul, saying he threatened her life and dangled her from a 17th floor balcony in 2016. The woman, named Bryana 'Bana' Bongolan, testified in court Wednesday (June 4) and spoke about her interactions with Combs and what she witnessed in regard to his relationship with Cassie Ventura. While on the witness stand, Bongolan said the balcony incident 'left her with night terrors' and added that there were times where she 'would scream in her sleep,' per NBC. The lasting psychological impact included feelings of paranoia, sometimes leading her to 'peek her head out at her own home just to make sure the area was clear.' She said he held her over the ledge for '10 to 15' seconds and yelled, 'You know what the f**k you did.' The witness also said the father of seven allegedly told her 'something along the lines of, 'I am the devil and I can kill you.'' It's worth noting Ventura included the balcony event in her 2023 lawsuit against Combs without mentioning Bongolan, her friend, by name. The designer claims she witnessed several instances of abuse from Diddy towards Cassie throughout the years. She also testified both she and Ventura were regular drug users during the years they were immersed in Diddy's social circle. She confirmed during cross-examination that she did ketamine, marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine and Vicodin in this time of her life. Per court documents obtained by Rolling Stone last year, Bongolan sued the Bad Boy founder for sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress, and false imprisonment, among other claims. The 17-page lawsuit read, 'Ms. Bongolan refuses to allow this fear to control the rest of her life and brings this action to demand that Mr. Combs takes responsibility for the trauma he intentionally and maliciously inflicted.' Diddy is facing one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in NYC on Sept. 16, 2024, and held at MDC Brooklyn without bail. His trial is expected to last all of June and into July.
