Sangareddy collector P Pravinya announced on Monday (July 7, 2025) that ₹12 crore was released from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) funds to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) towards construction of Indiramma Houses by the members.
Govt assistance in four instalments
The State government is providing financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to each beneficiary of Indiramma Housing Scheme to construct the houses in 400 to 600 sq. ft. The amount is released in four instalments; ₹1 lakh after completion of foundation, ₹1.75 lakh on laying slab, ₹1.75 lakh upon wall construction and the last instalment of ₹1 lakh after construction of the house is completed.
The State government releases the funds on every Monday after receiving confirmation, including a photo, of various stages of the construction.
However, several beneficiaries have struggled to gather money for the construction in the initial or other stages. The beneficiaries are from poor and underprivileged sections.
The loans would be given to the members of the SHGs, selected as a beneficiary of the scheme, from the ₹12 crore, according to the district officials. This would be helpful in the construction, said project director of Housing Chalapathi Rao.
A total of 16,559 houses were allotted to the district. Of them, 14,529 were sanctioned. Till now, basement of 692 houses were constructed and the ₹1 lakh first installment was released to 532 beneficiaries, according to a press release issued on Monday (July 7, 2025).

This income is calculated for at least four agricultural seasons and/or business cycles, with an average monthly income exceeding Rs 10,000."Last year, we created 25 lakh lakhpati didis. This year, we want to add another 25 lakh. Our target is to make one crore lakhpati didis in Maharashtra. The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is part of this push. Some people tried to create confusion by claiming the scheme will be stopped. We won't shut it.
