Bengaluru eatery reacts after woman claims she was filmed in washroom secretly
A woman has publicly accused an employee of a Bengaluru eatery of recording her without consent inside its washroom.
In a detailed Instagram post, a woman who goes by the name 'itskrithu', recounted the incident which occurred on April 25 around 8pm, describing it as a harrowing experience that involved panic, confrontation, and what she calls emotional manipulation by the company's management.
On that particular day, the woman visited the Koramangala outlet of Anand Sweets & Savouries when she noticed something odd about the washroom's construction. She described the wall facing the commode as partially made of fiberglass and wooden slats, rather than solid brick.
'I sensed something was wrong. I tapped the fiberglass and decided to crouch down and look through the wooden strips. That's when I saw a phone placed on the other side,' she said in her post, adding: 'I looked at my hand to check if it was a reflection, but I wasn't holding a phone-only my menstrual cup. When I looked again, I saw the phone move. That's when I realised I was being recorded.'
Shaken but determined, she called her friend upstairs and began confronting employees, and also checked phones in front of the manager. She claimed that staff initially attempted to downplay the situation, urging her to 'calm down.' Unsatisfied with their response, she asked her friend to call the police.
Before the police arrived, she and her friend reviewed CCTV footage and eventually identified the suspect - a technician allegedly hired through a third-party agency. She claimed that the suspect left via a back exit. By 9:10pm, the man had been taken to the police station.
'For the next three hours, the accused kept denying everything. The police said unless we found the video or he confessed, they couldn't act. Around 1am on April 26, after repeated questioning, he admitted it,' she said, adding that the man claimed he had deleted the videos and begged for forgiveness, citing his newborn daughter.
The woman filed an FIR and left the police station, claiming that several employees attempted to convince her to drop the case. She also said the company's regional director, Mr Ramesha, met with her two days later but tried to minimise her trauma, suggesting she would "get over it in a few weeks" and referring to her as a daughter while simultaneously urging forgiveness.
'He tried to emotionally manipulate me by saying he saw me as a daughter. But no father would ask his daughter to forgive such an act. He shifted blame, saying the accused worked for a third-party agency and was a migrant worker they didn't even know,' she said.
Moreover, she claimed that Mr Ramesha made an attempt to 'block the door' as she tried to leave the meeting room in tears.
'I broke down and tried to leave, but Mr Ramesha blocked the door, saying other customers shouldn't see me cry. I felt trapped. My friend insisted they let me go. Mr Ramesha then asked the female employee to convince me. I asked her if she would be convinced if this happened to her-she had no answer. I walked out, but they kept my friend back to pressure him to calm me down,' she said.
'Since then, I've ignored all their calls. A day later, I got a call from the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) committee of Adityavani asking to meet at Anand Sweets. I refused. They kept insisting, but I've been dealing with panic attacks and sleepless nights,' she added.
As her post went viral, several users commented on her post, applauding her for speaking up.
However, Anand Sweets & Savouries reacted in a statement soon after, saying: 'We are deeply disturbed by the incident reported on April 25 at our Koramangala outlet. We do not condone such behaviour - these actions are unacceptable. The individual responsible was a technician contracted for maintenance. He accessed the first floor by climbing the renovation scaffolding outside the building. We are fully committed to supporting the affected party and reporting the matter to the relevant authorities.'
In a subsequent post, the woman also shared a picture of the accused and CCTV footage of him 'clearly accessing the stairway by the washroom from the first floor.'
The woman concluded her post with a strong message, saying: 'To every woman out there: you're not paranoid for checking. You're not overreacting for speaking up. You're powerful. And you deserve safety - even in a washroom.'

The news of his demise sent shockwaves across India, leaving both the film industry and millions of his admirers in a state of collective grief and disbelief. Known for his powerful performances, intelligence, and magnetic presence, Sushant's loss still feels deeply personal to the passage of time, the circumstances surrounding his death remain clouded by unanswered questions and ongoing legal complexities. The official explanation continues to be scrutinized, with public opinion divided and investigations still surrounded by controversy. Yet amid the ambiguity, what remains certain is the profound emptiness left behind by his absence. On his fifth death anniversary, his sister Shweta Singh Kirti took to social media to pay a heartfelt homage to the 'Kai Po Che' star. Taking to Instagram, Shweta reminisced about her late brother and his zeal for life and learning. She also urged fans not to spread negativity in his name. Her message delved into the ideals Sushant embodied: a boundless enthusiasm for life, a deep intellectual curiosity, and a sincere, childlike innocence that endeared him to everyone. Through her words, she urged fans not to let grief translate into despair or bitterness but instead to honor her brother by embracing kindness and learning—qualities he passionately stood revealed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had submitted its findings regarding the case, and her family was in the process of reviewing them. But more than legal progress, her focus remained on encouraging people to stay resilient and faithful, both to goodness and to divine timing. For Shweta, Sushant's soul continues to exist not just in her memories but in the people who uphold his her moving appeal, Shweta also urged Sushant's followers not to allow his name to be misused as a symbol of negativity or hate. She emphasized that every act of unconditional love, every curious question asked, and every innocent joy experienced helps revive Sushant's spirit in some way. She reminded everyone that he was a symbol of inspiration, not conflict. Shweta expressed a desire to see his legacy carried forward by those who light up the world with positivity, just as he did. Never use Bhai's name to spread any negative feeling… he wouldn't like that. Let his legacy continue…" she wrote. In March, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) presented its report to a special court in Mumbai, following a prolonged and high-profile inquiry. The initial investigation conducted by the Mumbai Police had concluded that Sushant Singh Rajput's death appeared to be a suicide. As reported by the Times Of India, officials at the time found no signs of forced entry into his residence, and early observations pointed towards mental health struggles, with depression being considered a possible factor. His body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan, a detail that deeply shocked the nation. However, the absence of a suicide note at the scene raised further questions, fueling speculation and demanding a more in-depth probe. In June 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered unresponsive at his apartment in Mumbai, a heartbreaking moment that stunned the nation.

Gujarat teen shot video to show friends planes flying overhead — the crash left him traumatised
Standing on the terrace of a three-storey building where his father stayed, Aryan Asari watched with amazement as the planes flew by overhead, seemingly within touching distance. Visiting his father in Ahmedabad's Laxminagar area, close to the airport, the Class 12 student decided to shoot a video of one of these planes and send it to his friends back home in a village in Aravalli district. It was this very video — showing the Air India plane struggling to stay in the air and eventually crashing in a massive fireball — that would go viral globally, becoming the subject of analysis by everyone from crash experts to police. Aryan, however, found himself traumatised and struggling to sleep at night. On Saturday, police took him away from the Ahmedabad house, both to seek details about the video and keep him out of the media spotlight. Earlier in the day, Aryan told a local channel that he had shared the video with his father as well as on his Instagram account as a story. He said he was too scared to ever step foot on an airplane ever again. Raj Singh, 16, who was with Aryan when he shot the video, said that this was the first time the boy and his sister were visiting the rented apartment where their father, a retired army officer who now worked as a metro supervisor, had been staying for the past six months. 'He came around noon and was amazed when he saw planes fly so close overhead as the area is in the flight path. The planes fly so close, one almost feels that one can touch it. I was also standing on the terrace and we got talking. He said he wanted to show his friends how close he was to the planes and started shooting them on his phone,' Raj, who resides in the same building, told The Indian Express. 'As soon as the Air India flight came, he started shooting it when the plane started going down. He asked me why it went down and assumed it would land. However, when we saw the ball of fire, he rushed back to his room. He did not go to the spot where the plane crashed, something most of us did,' said Raj. Aryan later sent the video to his father who initially did not believe his account, said Sunita Singh, another building resident. She said: 'His father told him to stay indoors and not talk to anyone. The father may have shared the video which then went viral.' 'From early morning on Saturday, mediapersons started coming in even as the father was away at work. He returned and asked the media to leave. He told them their son was scared ever since the incident. Every time a plan passed by, which was every few minutes, he started panicking. He was hardly able to speak,' she said. Later, a team from the Ahmedabad crime branch reached the spot and whisked him away. Police later clarified that they had not detained him but were simply getting details about the video. When The Indian Express visited the building, the house was locked. An official said that Aryan and his sister had been sent to a relative's place as per instructions by senior officials. Sunita said: 'We were used to flights passing by close overhead. Ever since the crash, every time we hear a plane go by, we get scared.'
