Israel's major airport attacked by… missiles strike Tel Aviv, not Iran or Syria, attack carried out by...
Tel Aviv: After days of peace, Israel's skies are again shadowed with missiles. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Tuesday intercepted a ballistic missile that was launched by the Houthi militant group from Yemen. The missile was heading towards Ben Gurion International Airport, which is located near the capital city – Tel Aviv. The interception took place after air raid sirens were heard in many parts of the country. The responsibility for the strike has been claimed by Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, stating that they targeted the airport by using the 'Palestine 2' hypersonic ballistic missile.
The Houthis recently resumed deadly attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, targeting ships they accuse of having links to Israel, to put pressure on Israel to end the Gaza war.
A Houthi security official, requesting anonymity, told new outlet AFP that the bombing destroyed the port's dock. Notably, Israel recently rebuilt the dock which was destroyed in earlier airstrikes.
It is to be noted that the attempted airstrike took place a day after the IDF carried out a major airstrike on Houthi targets in Yemen's Hodeidah port.
These airstrikes are part of Tel Aviv's ongoing retaliation against Houthis as they have been attacking and destroying vessels which are coming to Israel ports.
These Houthis are backed by Iran and are continuous firing several missiles into different parts of Israel.

The Air Force said that among the targets attacked in the strikes, terrorist squads, combat tunnels, military buildings, anti-tank firing positions, and weapons storage facilities were struck. Meanwhile, a day after withdrawing their delegations from talks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump appeared on Friday to abandon Gaza ceasefire negotiations with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
