Landslip closes Dartmoor railway line in Devon
National Rail said the incident had been reported between Crediton and Okehampton on the Dartmoor Line at about 01:40 BST.
It said Great Western Railway train services running between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton had been suspended, with disruption expected until 13:00.
A spokesperson added Network Rail engineers had not been able to reach the landslip site safely due to the local weather conditions.
National Rail said rail replacement services had been arranged to help passengers affected by the closure.
Passengers could also use their train tickets on Stagecoach bus routes 5A and 6A between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton.
Trains on the Tarka Line, between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple, would still stop at Crediton, National Rail added.

Heathrow records almost no passenger growth in July
Heathrow airport saw almost no growth in passenger numbers last month because of capacity constraints. The UK's busiest airport said 7,981,137 passengers travelled through its four terminals in July. That is compared with 7,980,455 during the same month last year. Across the first seven months of 2025, the west London airport has recorded year-on-year growth of just 0.2%, with its two runways being used at almost full capacity. Heathrow unveiled plans to build a full-length third runway last week. It stated this would enable an additional 276,000 flights per year, from 480,000 today to 756,000. Heathrow believes it is possible to meet the Government's ambition of securing planning consent by 2029 and the new runway being operational within a decade. The airport said it recorded its busiest day on August 1, with 270,869 passengers. It also claimed to be 'Europe's most punctual major hub', ahead of Amsterdam Schiphol, Frankfurt, Madrid and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Heathrow chief executive Thomas Woldbye said: 'It's that time of year when everyone is looking forward to their well-earned summer breaks, and Heathrow is proud to play our part in delivering smooth and reliable journeys. 'We continue to break records as Europe's largest and most punctual hub – adding value for our airline partners and passengers. Firefighters battle overnight blaze at building in Wishaw
Firefighters have worked through the night tackling a blaze affecting a building in Wishaw. Emergency services were called to the scene at Belhaven Terrace at around 10:35pm on Sunday. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six fire engines and specialist resources to the incident on Sunday evening. There were no reports of any casualties. There are no reports of any casualties and firefighters are expected to remain at the scene for some time. "Those living in the wider area should be vigilant and if you can see or smell smoke, take the same action."

Major incident: Firefighters continue to tackle heath blaze in 'ardorous' conditions
FIREFIGHTERS continue to tackle a major heath blaze which broke out over the weekend. Firefighters are said to be working in "arduous" conditions at Holt Heath, with multiple hotspots and flare-ups that are yet to be tackled. The fire first broke out on August 9 at 11am, with around 100 firefighters battling the blaze of approx. 1,000m x 800m near Wimborne. Fire crews had five pumping appliances, three small 4x4 vehicles, one water carrier and the Unimog in attendance initially and a further four appliances were requested. Crews in attendance were from Poole, Blandford, Wareham, Wimborne, Springbourne, Hamworthy, Salisbury and HIOWFRS crews from St Marys, New Milton and Eastleigh, Fordingbridge and Burley.
