Former Newsboys Singer Michael Tait's Instagram ‘Confession' Explained
Wondering why Michael Tait is making headlines across the Christian music world? The former Newsboys frontman recently admitted to serious misconduct. A years-long investigation had revealed allegations of drug abuse and sexual assault. Michael Tait's 'confession' followed a detailed report involving multiple alleged victims. Here's what we know about the allegations and Michael Tait's 'confession.' On June 10, Michael Tait shared a post on Instagram titled 'My Confession.' He admitted to drug use and unwanted sexual advances on men. His statement followed the release of an investigative article by The Roys Report, which accused Tait of misconduct over a span of two decades. Tait wrote, 'Recent reports of my reckless and destructive behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity are sadly, largely true.' In the post, Tait confessed, 'For some two decades I used and abused cocaine, consumed far too much alcohol, and, at times, touched men in an unwanted sensual way.' He said he made no excuses, adding, 'While I might dispute certain details in the accusations against me, I do not dispute the substance of them.' He also acknowledged, 'I was, for the most part, living two distinctly different lives.' Tait left Newsboys abruptly in January 2025. On June 4, The Roys Report revealed three men accused Tait of assault during tours in 2004, 2010, and 2014. Two said he fondled them after drinking. One alleged non-consensual touching after Tait invited him to share a bed. Newsboys responded in a June 5 statement, writing, 'We are horrified, heartbroken, and angry… we feel as if we and our families have been deceived for the last fifteen years.' K-LOVE and other Christian radio networks paused airplay for Newsboys and DC Talk music after the story broke. Tait wrote that he had entered a treatment facility in Utah earlier this year and had been sober since. 'I accept the consequences of my sin and am committed to continuing the hard work of repentance and healing,' he stated. He concluded by apologizing to those hurt by his actions. As Mister Romantic, John C. Reilly Just Wants to Spread Love
John C. Reilly has been a staple of Paul Thomas Anderson's films, starred in serious and satirical biopics, made a legend of a man-child stepbrother, and was nominated for an Oscar in 2003 for his haunting turn as Amos — 'Mister Cellophane' — in 'Chicago.' But the character closest to him just might be a know-nothing who emerges, openhearted and singing, from a box. For the past three years, Reilly, 60, has performed as Mister Romantic, a retro crooner who just wants to find everlasting love. A vaudeville-esque act of his own creation with mostly American songbook numbers — 'What'll I Do,' 'Dream' — and a backing band, it's a quasi-improvised set that has him interacting with the audience in a way that's sometimes wryly funny, sometimes tender and sad, but always sincere. Connection, of any kind, is the point. After a series of sold-out shows in Los Angeles, Reilly is taking his persona on the road, to Cafe Carlyle starting Wednesday. And he is releasing a concept album, 'What's Not to Love?,' his renditions of classics and more, on Friday. His alter ego's origins are deep-seated. 'I've been a romantic person my whole life,' Reilly said. 'My mother would play these standards on the player piano at our house, and I would sing along.' It was 'Mister Cellophane' that reawakened in him, he said, an appreciation for a bygone era of theatricality. He finished shooting the HBO series 'Winning Time,' about the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, on a Friday, 'and on Monday night, I had my first Mister Romantic show,' he said. 'I was like, oh, I just want to get out onstage and express myself.' Image John C. Reilly's Mister Romantic project includes a cabaret show and a new album, 'What's Not to Love?' Angel Reese Gives Nickname to Coco Gauff After Chicago Sky's Blowout Loss
Angel Reese Gives Nickname to Coco Gauff After Chicago Sky's Blowout Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky may have taken a hard hit on the scoreboard Tuesday night, but forward Angel Reese still found a way to shine. Advertisement After the Sky's 85-66 loss to the undefeated New York Liberty, Reese shared a heartfelt moment with tennis star Coco Gauff. Gauff, fresh off winning her second Grand Slam title at the French Open, was sitting courtside at the Barclays Center. She was seen enjoying the game with Vanessa Bryant and her daughters, making it a special night for sports fans. During a timeout, cameras zoomed in on Gauff and the crowd erupted with cheers. She was also greeted by Ellie the Elephant, the Liberty's mascot, and visited the Liberty locker room after the game. But the real crossover moment happened after the final buzzer. Reese posted a video on Instagram Story showing her meeting with Gauff. 'The QUEEN,' Reese added a caption, tagging Gauff directly. Advertisement Despite the tough loss, Reese appeared unfazed. In fact, she seemed more excited to meet Gauff than discouraged by the outcome of the game. Her warm gesture came shortly after the tennis champion was honored with loud cheers by Liberty fans. Meanwhile, Reese recorded her 30th career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, making her the fastest player in WNBA history to reach that mark. At only 21 years old, she became the youngest American woman since Serena Williams in 2002 to win the French Open. Advertisement It was her second Grand Slam title after winning the 2023 US Open. Following the match, fans gave her a new nickname: 'Queen of Clay.' Now, Reese has added her own spin to that crown. The Chicago Sky will try to bounce back on Friday when they face the Atlanta Dream. But even in defeat, Angel Reese made headlines not just for her stats, but for her shoutout to a fellow queen in sports.
