Nets vs. 76ers summer league game preview: How to watch, lineups
With that being said, the Nets will face the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday in the consolation round to end their time in Las Vegas and Brooklyn will most likely be looking to the players towards the end of the roster to see what they can do. Players like Drew Timme and Ben Saraf did not play in Wednesday's 94-90 win over the Orlando Magic for various reasons so it's possible that more players will be given the night off.
The good news for Brooklyn is that three of the four rookies that were able to play, Drake Powell was unable to play due to injury, have had at least one game that showed what they can do. Saraf is the one rookie that has yet to have his breakout game in the way that Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, and Danny Wolf have so if he is able to play, Saraf could end the summer league with a bang. Here's what you need to know to get ready for the game:

Who To Watch
Saraf has played in three of the four games that the Nets have played in Las Vegas and his best game in the summer was in a loss to the Knicks when he dropped 11 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 29 minutes of playing time. For the summer league, Saraf is averaging 7.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 30.4% from the field and 53.8% from the free-throw line.
While Saraf's counting stats are fine considering that he has been playing in various roles on the team, his efficiency is the part that has been concerning during his time in Las Vegas. Saraf was regarded as the rookie in Brooklyn's 2025 class with the best mix of scoring and passing and to his credit, he has put both of those skills on full display when he has found the right opportunities.
Saraf was rested for Wednesday's win over the Magic so it's possible that he is shut down for the last game of the summer league, but if he isn't, it would be important to see if he can put it altogether for one game. If Saraf can show that he can be an efficient player while putting the stats needed to show that he can be an impact player, that would go a long way to boosting his confidence ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Nets' Egor Demin reacts to first NBA action in Las Vegas Summer League
LAS VEGAS -- Brooklyn Nets guard Egor Demin played his first game as an NBA player in Thursday's 90-81 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Las Vegas Summer League. Demin, the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft came into the league with a fair amount of hype, but his performance against the Thunder showed his strengths and weaknesses. "I don't want to say I actually had this feeling of like first game excitement. I think this feeling got out before we got on the court for me, personally," Demin said following his outing of putting up eight points and four rebounds in 22 minutes. Demin had a slow start to the game as he shot 0-for-3 from the field and had two turnovers and two fouls in 10 first-half minutes. "I was really trying to be dialed in and stay focused and from the first second, try to give my best effort," Demin continued. "I was talking before, for me, it was about effort. I wanted to give the best energy I can, the best effort on defense and offense, and try to be as impactful as I can be for the team." Demin's second half not only showed more of the positives of his game in terms of his long-range shooting and rebounding, but it also displayed his ability to bounce back from a rough start. Demin will most likely be looked to as one of the primary, if not the main, ball-handlers on the Nets for the 2025-26 season and along the way, he will have to learn how his game translates to the next level. Demin came into the Draft as arguably the best passer in the class, but Thursday was not the best representation of what his passing can do for an offense. Demin posted zero assists to two turnovers, but as he learns how to best make plays with the ball in his hands, he will be fine. "I prefer to say I'm a playmaker. I just really want to learn how to make plays," Demin explained. This article originally appeared on Nets Wire: Nets' Egor Demin reacts to first NBA action in Las Vegas Summer League

Bill Simmons shreds Nets for ‘one of the worst trades of the decade'
It's been an offseason of troubling moves for the Brooklyn Nets, and it hit fever pitch last week. After trading two-way wing Cam Johnson to the Denver Nuggets for Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick, Bill Simmons crushed Brooklyn for the deal. 'Did they have to even put Cam Johnson in the trade?' the Ringer honcho said on his eponymous podcast. 'I just think that trade, the more I thought about it over the last five days, is one of the worst trades of the decade. You have to attach a pick to get rid of Porter, and I also didn't get anything for Cam Johnson? Nothing?' Simmons added that the Nets are among the 'bleakest' situations that any team is facing in the NBA right now, along with the Raptors, Bulls and Pelicans. Porter Jr. has dealt with numerous injuries in his career, dating back to the 2018 draft, which led to him falling to No. 14 despite expectations he would be selected in the top five. 'It's bad. I thought it was a miracle trade for the Nuggets when it happened… Porter, I didn't think was tradable unless you took like a Bradley Beal. You know, $78 million for two years. He has a bad back. He has a f–ked up shoulder… For [the Nuggets] he was a complete impediment to making their roster better… here comes Brooklyn, and they're like, 'We just need one pick.' It's f–king crazy.' It goes beyond the trade for Simmons, who also took aim at the Nets entering the 2025 draft with five first-round picks and making all of them to much criticism. 'I continue to think they did an awful job,' Simmons said. 'Like really bad. I didn't like their draft… I just don't understand anything they did.' Johnson averaged a career-high 18.8 points per game on 39 percent shooting from 3 to go along with 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game while being known as a plus defender. Porter Jr. put up 18.2 points per game on 39.5 percent from 3-point range with seven rebounds and 2.1 assists for the Nuggets and helped them win a title in 2023.
