Met Gala 2025: celebrities from Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter, to Sydney Sweeney and Blackpink's Lisa and Jennie graced the red carpet in looks celebrating Black men's style and tailoring
Lisa and Jennie from Blackpink,
Zendaya , Pharrell Williams and other celebrities arrived on Monday at the annual Met Gala, the fashion showcase and fundraiser that this year celebrates Black men's style and tailoring.
Formula One driver
Lewis Hamilton and actor Colman Domingo, co-chairs of the gala, were among the first to appear at the entrance to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Domingo wore a full-length royal blue pleated cloak falling from a gold and white casing around his shoulders, which he removed to reveal a bejewelled, checkered black and white jacket and grey trousers. Hamilton chose an all-white suit with a beret.

Williams, the musician and
creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear , wore black tuxedo pants paired with an ivory jacket adorned with 15,000 pearls.
Euphoria actor
Sydney Sweeney wore a fitted sparkling black gown with her hair slicked back in a bun.
The Met Gala, a fundraiser for the art museum, has become known for its roster of A-list celebrities in extravagant outfits. This year's guests were told to dress according to the theme 'Tailored for You', a nod to the exhibit called 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' at the museum's Costume Institute.
The theme was chosen last year before the election of
US President Donald Trump , who launched an assault on diversity and inclusion efforts during the first weeks of his second term.
Los Angeles Lakers star
LeBron James , honorary chair of the event, could not attend because of a knee injury. 'Hate to miss an historical event!' James wrote on social media platform X.
Here are highlights from the event.

M*A*S*H actress Loretta Swit dies aged 87
M*A*S*H actress Loretta Swit dies aged 87 Swit (centre), a mainstay of one of the most successful and acclaimed series in US television history, died at her home in New York City. Photo: AFP Loretta Swit, the Emmy Award-winning actress who played no-nonsense US Army combat nurse Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan in the hit TV series "M*A*S*H" for more than a decade, died on Friday at the age of 87. Swit, a mainstay of one of the most successful and acclaimed series in US television history, died at her home in New York City from what was suspected to be natural causes, her publicist, Harlan Boll, said. Swit earned two best supporting actress Emmys and 10 nominations for her role as "Hot Lips," the lusty, tough but vulnerable, patriotic Army career nurse in the series that ran from 1972-1983. As the only regular female character in the groundbreaking show set in the fictional 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War of the 1950s, "Hot Lips" endured the insults, pranks and practical jokes of the fun-loving male surgeons. The show's cast also included Alan Alda, Wayne Rogers, McLean Stevenson, Larry Linville, Mike Farrell, Harry Morgan, Gary Burghoff, David Ogden Stiers and Jamie Farr. Swit defined her role by playing a strong, determined, independent woman, who had input into the development and storyline of her character, including her split from her married lover Major Frank Burns, hilariously played by Linville, and her own wedding and divorce. She appeared in nearly all of the more than 250 episodes and the series finale, which was the most watched episode of any TV series in history when the show ended in 1983. (Reuters)

Blackpink fans in Malaysia lament tour snub, turn ire on government censorship
Heartbroken Malaysian fans of Blackpink have blamed their government's censorious streak for the K-pop supergroup omitting to stop in Kuala Lumpur on their highly-anticipated world tour. Advertisement On Tuesday, the chart-topping and YouTube record-breaking quartet comprising Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose, announced their first world tour since 2023 with shows scheduled across North America, Europe and Asia from July this year through to January 2026. The news threw Blinks – a term used to describe the group's most devoted fans – into a frenzy of ticket-buying for the first reunion of the band since they took time out to pursue solo projects. Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore and Bulacan in the Philippines will be part of their Southeast Asia swing, but Malaysia was excluded from the line-up. 'I really think it is because our country is being difficult. Our authorities seem to always make it hard for international acts to come here,' said cosmetics salesperson Bobo, 30, who goes by one name. The Blink has followed the group since they debuted in 2016. Advertisement For Beverly Lim, 25, the omission of Malaysia means she has to put on hold her dream of seeing her idols in the flesh.
