‘Bohot saari dil se dua karna': Humaira Asghar Ali's death case takes shocking turn, new viral audio emerges

Mint3 days ago
The mysterious case of Pakistani model and actor Humaira Asghar Ali's brutal death took a twist after a new petition suggested that she was murdered.
Humaira's decomposed body was found in her apartment in Karachi's upmarket Defence Housing Society on July 8. The initial post-mortem findings said she had died eight to 10 months ago.
According ARY News, a petition was filed by a citizen named Shahzaib Sohail in Karachi's City Court, stating that Humaira was murdered. He also urged the court to make sure her family was included in the investigation.
Shahzaib reportedly referred to video evidence from the apartment and spoke of Humaira's strained ties with her family.
His petition raised serious doubts about how the actress was found, which led the court to order police to treat the matter as a possible criminal case, Ary News reported.
As forensic details continue to emerge in Humaira's death case, a voice message she sent to a close friend shortly before her death went viral recently.
In the viral audio clip, she could be heard asking her freind to remembered her in prayers.
In the voice note, Humaira can be heard saying, 'I'm so sorry, I was travelling, caught up here and there. I'm so happy tum Makkah me ho. Mere liye bohot saari please... apni cutie si dost/ behen ke liye bohot saari dil se dua karna. For my career, dua me zarur yaad rakhna. Mere liye bohot saari tumhe dua karni hai. [Please pray a lot for me... Pray a lot from your heart for your cute friend/sister. For my career, please remember me in your prayers. You have to pray a lot for me].'
While investigation is still on, Muhammad Ahmed, a senior stage and television actor, was quoted by PTI as saying, 'From what I have heard, Humaira was in dire financial condition because of which she couldn't pay her rent. It is sad because she was a hard working popular actor.'
Chilling details of post-mortem examination confirmed that her body was in an "advanced stage of decomposition.
Her key organs were reduced to an unidentifiable mass, and her facial features were completely unrecognisable, Pakistan-based GeoTV reported.
Parts of the body were "entirely devoid of muscle" tissue, and the bones began to "disintegrate upon touch," the report cited. It reported that her fingers and nails were "reduced to bone".
Investigators also found insects in the remains, though no maggots were found. Brown-coloured insects, especially in the hair, were claimed to be present.

Food delivery man, mechanics masked as ‘businessmen' to launder cyberfraud money

Rajkot: A delivery man working for a leading food aggregator and two garage owners were among the five out of nine people arrested as Rajkot police busted an elaborate racket that routed and laundered crores siphoned off through online gaming and other cyber frauds across 14 states. The scam syndicate, led by Mumbai-based mastermind Ashish, created bogus companies and partnership enterprises using a fake paper trail to open bank accounts, which were then rented out to cybercriminals for laundering money. Police found that at least Rs 13 crore in cyber fraud proceeds had been laundered using these accounts. "Two separate FIRs registered by the Cybercrime Police revealed that more than Rs 13 crore, proceeds of cyber fraud, were deposited into seven bank accounts," said deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Parthrajsinh Gohil. Out of the nine accused, police have so far arrested five, including delivery man Ramesh Mukhida (28), garage owners Meet Gupta (22) and his father Lalbahadur Gupta (46), along with Pravin Shankharva and Hardik Limbasiya (25). A hunt is on to trace Mayur Khungla (26), a trader, and mastermind Ashish. Rajendra Khungla, who was also named in the FIRs, died in a road accident. According to police, the accused hid behind fake firms and bogus documentation. The delivery boy, garage owners, and security personnel were made partners in various bogus firms, lured by commissions. The police have busted seven such companies and as many bank accounts so far. Chintan Patel, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), said, "The modus operandi of the group was to create fake seals and partnership deeds, obtain forged PAN cards, register firms on the Udyam portal for MSME registration, open bank accounts in the firm's name, and use them for cyber frauds. The money was laundered between March 18 and April 25." Mukhida and the father-son duo were lured by commissions offered by Ashish and Shankharva. During preliminary questioning, Shankharva admitted that all the fraudulent accounts were operated by Ashish, based in Mumbai, and that proceeds from online gaming and fraud were deposited into these accounts. Police believe that more cyber fraud cases will come to light as the investigation progresses and the remaining masterminds are arrested

Bribery case: CBI arrests 3 I-T officials

Patna: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday formally arrested Aditya Saurabh, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, along with an income-tax inspector and a multi-tasking staff (MTS) member in Patna in connection with a bribery case involving Rs 2 lakh. All three were remanded in three days' CBI custody by the CBI special court-1 in Patna. According to CBI sources, Aditya Saurabh, a 2021-batch IRS officer, is currently serving as assistant director in the income-tax Department in Patna. He is accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a Hyderabad-based company. The investigation began after the CBI received a complaint about the bribery demand. Initial inquiries led to the arrest of income-tax inspector Manish Kumar Pankaj and multi-tasking staff member Shubham Raj. Their interrogation subsequently revealed the alleged involvement of the IRS officer, leading to his arrest. The bribe was accepted in a lane behind the Patna high court on Tuesday evening where all three were caught. "CBI registered an instant case on July 15, 2025, against the said accused persons on allegations of demand and acceptance of a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from the complainant for the release of a previously seized amount of Rs 13 lakh and for not initiating any further inquiry against him. The amount of Rs 13 lakh was reportedly seized from the complainant's brother-in-law at the airport, which was intimated to the income-tax department," said a CBI press release. The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe. The Rs 2 lakh bribe money was recovered during the operation. The agency stated the money was collected on the direction and behalf of the IRS officer. Searches were conducted at three different locations linked to the accused in Patna. The CBI is now gathering documentary evidence, phone call recordings and other electronic proof.
