Two 19-year-old Danville men arrested on illegal gun charges
DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Two 19-year-old men, one a convicted felon, were arrested by Danville Police officers Friday evening for unlawful firearm charges.
At around 9 p.m. on March 21, the Danville Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing Unit (P.O.P.) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Gilbert and Williams Streets after witnessing a moving violation. Officers then made contact with two subjects in the vehicle who were identified as 19-year-old Alex Doe and 19-year-old Joshua S. Brocks, both of Danville.

During the stop, officers witnessed a firearm in the vehicle and further investigation showed neither man could legally possess a firearm. Both men were arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building for processing.
Alex Doe was found to be on probation in Vermilion County and was booked on the charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. On the other hand, Joshua S. Brocks was booked on the charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

4-year-old suffers injuries after being struck by vehicle
A 4-year-old was struck by a driver who left the scene of the incident Tuesday, June 10, in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive. The victim was taken to a local hospital by family members before police arrived and was listed as stable at that time, but was transferred to a hospital in Urbana. DPD Deputy Chief Terry McCord said a witness described a red SUV driving recklessly by 20-year-old Tyran A. Coe of Danville. The vehicle struck the juvenile and then left the scene of the crash. One dead, two hospitalized in Decatur crash
DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A 68-year-old Decatur man was pronounced deceased following the serious injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon. At approximately 3:11 p.m. on June 13, Decatur Police Officers were called to the intersection of W Rock Springs Road and Westgate Drive in reference to a crash involving two vehicles. The initial investigation revealed a Chrysler PT Cruiser was sitting in the eastbound lane of W Rock Springs Road facing westbound. Decatur man gets 8 years in prison for distributing child pornography The PT Cruiser abruptly turned right, across the westbound lane and toward a driveway on the north side of W Rock Springs Road. A Chevrolet 1500 truck was traveling westbound on W Rock Springs Road and collided with the passenger's side of the PT Cruiser. The driver of the Chevrolet 1500 was an 18-year-old male and Decatur resident, while the passenger was a juvenile male from Decatur. Both occupants of this vehicle were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the PT Cruiser was a 68-year-old male and Decatur resident. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. Additionally, there were no indications that the driver of the Chevrolet 1500 was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Members of the Fatal Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and are actively investigating the crash. There is no further information available at this time. Man in critical condition following Chesapeake shooting: Police
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Chesapeake Saturday morning, according to the Chesapeake Police Department. Officers responded to the 3200 block of Border Road with reports of gunshots in the area and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 4:40 a.m. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was determined to be in critical condition.
