Chelsea's Club World Cup win ‘not an upset'
Cole Palmer was the star of the show in front of a crowd of 81,118 at MetLife Stadium, scoring two fine goals and creating the other for Joao Pedro in a shock 3-0 win.

Defender Colwill said: 'Everyone was rooting for PSG or saying they were going to beat us but it's not an upset because we know how good we are. If other people don't believe that then hopefully we have changed their minds now.
'This performance was amazing and we should get the credit we deserve.
'It was a statement victory and in the future, if we keep winning trophies then everyone will give us the love that we deserve.'
PSG had stormed into the final by thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 four days previously.
Having already won four trophies in 2024-25, including the Champions League and a French league and cup double, their determination to complete a historic quintuple seemed clear.
Colwill is convinced the confidence Chelsea will gain from beating such an outstanding side will see them emerge as strong contenders next season.

The 22-year-old said: 'I said at the start of this tournament that our plan was to win it and people looked at me as if I was crazy!
'So I'm going to say the exact same thing now going into the Premier League and Champions League. I think we're ready and we'll see next season.'
The Club World Cup tournament, the first to be played in an expanded 32-team format, has had its detractors for a range of reasons but Colwill has no doubt the concept is here to stay.
'In the future, I think this will be the biggest trophy of all,' he said. 'It will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it.
'I've really enjoyed it, playing games every four or five days, playing to sold-out stadiums, playing against different teams who you would never normally get a chance to play.
'I might be saying that just because we're winners now but I really have enjoyed it and it's been good.
'This is the biggest tournament I've ever won. Going into the game I was a bit nervous, thinking it was the biggest game I've ever played, but in years to come I will look back and think what a day it's been.'

Ex-Southampton boss Ivan Juric rushed to hospital as new club release statement
Atalanta have confirmed that former Southampton manager Ivan Juric is responding well to antibiotics after being admitted to hospital with "serious inflammation" of his airways Ivan Juric, the former Southampton manager, is in hospital after suffering "serious inflammation" of his upper airways but is "significantly improving", Atalanta have confirmed in a statement. Juric, 49, spent time in charge of Southampton during the 2024-25 campaign after being drafted in to replace Russell Martin back in December. But he was later sacked in April after the Saints' relegation from the Premier League was confirmed. The Croatian has since been appointed as the new head coach of Atalanta, who confirmed him as Gian Piero Gasperini's successor last month. Thankfully, Atalanta have confirmed that Juric is responding well to antibiotics after complications caused by a bacterial epiglottitis infection led to him being hospitalised. He is expected to be discharged in the coming days, according to the Serie A outfit. The club's statement read: "Atalanta BC announces that coach Ivan Juric was hospitalized in recent days at the Bolognini Hospital in Seriate, in the ENT department headed by Dr. Davide Panciera, following a serious inflammation of the upper airways, complicated by a bacterial infection of the epiglottis, which was treated with intravenous antibiotics. "The current clinical picture is significantly improving, and a protected discharge is expected in the next few days." After embarking on a new challenge with Atalanta in Italy, Juric admitted that his time in the Premier League with Southampton was challenging. "[It was] a negative year on a sporting level, he said. "[From a] human and knowledge level, it was fantastic. I think I feel much stronger than a year ago, because [at] Roma I saw great clubs, great players. I learned a lot. "In Southampton, I appreciated a fabulous Premier League. People who are in the club, who know how to work. I saw really beautiful things. In the Premier League, I also remember the level of the players, [it's] very high. "I think two negative experiences on the one hand, and on the other, [it was] very positive for me and my growth." Nicolas Jackson: Manchester United monitoring Chelsea forward
Manchester United are monitoring the situation of Nicolas Jackson as the forward weighs up his future after Chelsea's summer spending spree, which included the acquisition of strikers Liam Delap and João Pedro. Pedro scored three times for Chelsea having joined up with them during their victorious Club World Cup triumph after his £60million move from Brighton & Hove Albion while Delap, who joined from Ipswich Town last month for £30million, scored in the group stage win over Espérance de Tunis.
