Thomas Müller to Join MLS Side Vancouver Whitecaps
On Tuesday, media reports said that Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller reached an agreement to join Canada's Vancouver Whitecaps.
Transfer Market expert Fabrizio Romano, citing MLS insider Tom Bogert, that the deal is done for the German legend to join the MLS side. The deal will be for two years.
According to media reports, the team will be using Targeted Money Allocation (TAM) for the deal itself, following which Müller can be signed as a designated player next year.
Müller will play as an attacking midfielder after the departure of Stuart Armstrong.
He will be the biggest European star to have ever played for the Whitecaps.

German great Mueller signs with MLS Whitecaps - World
Bayern Munich and Germany forward Thomas Mueller has signed with Major League Soccer's Vancouver Whitecaps, the Canadian club announced on Wednesday. The 35-year-old has signed through the end of the 2025 MLS season with an option for 2026, Vancouver said. Mueller announced earlier this year that he would be departing from Bayern Munich - his home for 25 years. His tenure included 13 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League triumphs. "I'm looking forward to coming to Vancouver to help this team win a championship," Mueller said in a statement. "I've heard great things about the city, but first and foremost I'm coming to win. "I've had great conversations with Axel Schuster and Jesper Sorensen, and now I can't wait to play in front of the supporters and to see all of the fans come out to BC Place as we head towards the playoffs." Mueller arrives at a Whitecaps team currently second in the Western Conference, one point behind leaders San Diego but with one match in hand. "He not only brings a winning pedigree and exceptional football intelligence, but also a tireless work ethic that will elevate the entire team," Whitecaps chief executive Schuster said in a statement. "Thomas is a natural leader whose passion for the game is infectious. This is a statement signing by our club and our ownership -- a transformative moment for our club and our city. We are proud to welcome Thomas to Vancouver." Restricted mainly to a substitute's role in the 2024-25 campaign, Mueller made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals. He retired from international duty in 2024, having won the World Cup with Germany in 2014. He finished his international career with 131 caps, scoring 45 goals. There had been brief speculation that he would land with Los Angeles FC, but the Whitecaps announcement came on the same day that LAFC were expected to confirm the signing of South Korean star Son Heung-min. Tennis: Khachanov topples Zverev to book ATP Toronto title clash with Shelton - Omni sports
Karen Khachanov rallied to defeat top seed Alexander Zverev and book an ATP Toronto Masters title clash with Ben Shelton, who beat second seeded Taylor Fritz on Wednesday. Khachanov fought back from 3-1 down in the final-set tiebreaker to beat Zverev 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7/4). Shelton, seeded fourth, hammered Fritz 6-4, 6-3 in the first All-American Masters 1000 semifinal in 15 years to book the fifth, and most important, ATP final of his career. Russia's Khachanov, seeded 11th, had lost two previous semi-finals in Canada. But he dug deep to advance, saving a match point as he levelled the deciding set at 6-6, with world number three Zverev hammering a backhand into the top tape of the net. The German committed 44 unforced errors in the nearly three-hour defeat while Khachanov had 29 winners and 34 uforced errors. "I had to work out this match, dig deep and try my best," Khachanov said. "It was very demanding physically and mentally. "We've had a lot of matches and I'm happy to beat him after losing some easy ones," addd Khachanov, who fell to Zverev in the Tokyo Olympic singles final. "Today was a tough one - I was match point down. "I'm just happy things went on my side at the end." Khachanov said it got tense at the end. But that was barely a blip for 22-year-old Shelton, the world number seven, who had beaten Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals and with the win over Fritz notched his first back-to-back victories over top 10 opponents. US Open finalist Fritz had to save four break points in the third game of the match and was broken in the ninth game to leave Shelton to serve for the set. Shelton seized a second break for a 3-2 lead in the second, landing a perfect lob over Fritz's head and held at love for a 5-3 lead. He closed out the masterclass in with another break, Fritz mangling his racquet over his knee after he double faulted on match point. "I'm happy with my level and how I executed," Shelton said. "I've seen so many big improvements in my game this week. That's what I'm most happy about, how I'm executing, how little I'm hesitating, how I'm returning. "Beating two top 10 guys back-to-back is huge for me. "I felt I had the ball on a string," he added. "I'm excited to play like this, hitting the ball and expecting it to go in." Ahly winger Reda Slim joins Moroccan side AS FAR on loan - Egyptian Football
Ahly's Moroccan winger Reda Slim has returned to his former club AS FAR on loan, the Moroccan side confirmed on Wednesday. The 25-year-old joined Ahly in the summer of 2023 from AS FAR but struggled to make an impact due to recurring injuries that kept him sidelined for much of the season. He made 44 appearances for the Egyptian giants, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
