The 80-year-old arrived on the Pyramid State to the side of bagpipes as he launched into an hour-and-a-half-long slot in the festival's coveted 'Legends' slot at Worthy Farm. After kicking off his performance with lesser 1981 hit, Tonight I'm Yours (Don't Hurt Me), Stewart took off his jacket, remarking 'it's f***ing hot up here'. It took him just two songs before he appeared to address the controversy ahead of his appearance, saying: 'Music brings us together, we need music.' Rod Stewart fans divided as they spot 'problem' with Glastonbury Legends slot

And while the likes of Kneecap and Bob Vylan caused controversy with their political views, the veteran crooner was more intent on winning the crowd over with his array of classics. Despite being 80 years old the Do Ya Think I'm Sexy singer rolled back the years in his Legends Slot at Worthy Farm on Sunday. And after a brief political call regarding Ukraine, he broke into Love Train, with his performance roundly well received by those in attendance at home. With his trademark raspy, soulful voice belting out his huge back catalogue of hits, Sir Rod was trying to makie sure the weekend signed off with a bang. However, not everybody was on board with Rod's performance, with some going as far as labelling it like a pub concert. "This Rod Stewart performance. It's just so s*. Strong Benidorm/Phoenix Club vibes. #Glastonbury," fumed one Twitter/X user. Another added: "Sir Rod Stewart don't take this the wrong way. But it's time to throw the towel in #Glastonbury2025!!" And a third asked why the star didn't start the set with his own tunes. "Why is Rod Stewart 'singing' (use the term loosely) covers and not his own hits? #Glastonbury," they questioned." However, others were loving his performance. One gushed: "Rod Stewart is such a great performer man," with a clapping hands emoji. A second agreed, saying: "#glastonbury. Like him or not. Rod Stewart has still got it!! He's a showman, great entertainer, and can work a crowd. You go Rod! ! Big shout out to his Band. #bbc #RodStewart #uk" Rather than use his time to speak to his fans, he explained: "I only have an hour and a half so I want to get through as many songs as I can - NEXT." And then burst into his classic You Wear It Well. He then worked his way through his impressive catalogue, quickly following it with Maggie May. And it was this switch up that had fans once again loving it online. Earlier in the day, his wife Penny Lancaster had been spotted mixing it with fans of the singer. She was seen smiling as she posed for pictures with people dressed up as her superstar hubby - wigs and all. On Saturday, Kate Nash took aim at the singer during her set. But her foul-mouth rant wasn't solely pointed in Rod's direction. Instead, JK Rowling - as well as Denise Welch, Keir Starmer and Nigel Farage were targeted in her rant. The Foundations hitmaker, who was headlining the Left Field tent at festival on Saturday night, appeared to slam Harry Potter author Rowling on stage. She then launched into music bosses next. And talking about Denise Welch, who was at the festival supporting her son Matty Healy's band The 1975, Kate continued: "The music industry doesn't know what to do with me. They tried to get rid of me, but they didn't. There is a record executive sweating their t*** off with Matt Healy's mum. Then it was Rod's turn. As she began her song D***head, she said: "F*** Rod Stewart. This one [Why You Being A D****head For] goes out to Keir Starmer, JK Rowling, Rod Stewart and Nigel f****** Farage.' It comes after Rod announced his support for Farage last week in an interview with the Times.

Zara McDermott is at her first Glastonbury Festival - but some fans think she's giving off the 'wrong vibe' as one said 'this ain't Coachella' Zara McDermott certainly looks like she's enjoying her first ever Glastonbury. The 28-year-old is at the festival with new boyfriend Louis Tomlinson. The Love Island and Made In Chelsea star turned BBC documentary maker posed for a series of snaps showing her and One Direction's Louis, 33, were there with Louis' influencer sister Lottie, 26, and her fiance Lewis Burton. But snaps posted to her own Instagram account got a bit of backlash from fans who said they were 'the opposite of what Glastonbury is about'. Posing in an Adidas tracksuit and matching trainers, Zara sat on the floor in the snaps that looked more like a sports ad than a candid festival photo. She captioned the post: 'First Glasto.' It led one follower to ask: "Are you sitting in a foot path?" Another wrote: "This is the opposite of what Glastonbury is about. Sorry Zara wrong vibe." Agreeing, a third said: "I came to say the same, she has absolutely no idea, I have actual 2nd hand embarrassment!" as a fourth commented: "This ain't Coachella." In other snaps, it looked like Zara's relationship with Louis - who she started dating earlier this year just weeks after her split from boyfriend of five years Sam Thompson - is definitely hotting up. She's now met his family and posed for pics with his little sister Lottie, suggesting she's already got her seal of approval. But Zara and Louis were careful not to pose for any photos together and the new couple are yet to make their relationship Instagram official. And it's emerged the pair aren't even camping together at Glasto - with glam Zara preferring to stay off site instead while Louis parties with his mates. He's reportedly even put up a tent that's just for booze. A source told the Mirror: "Louis is determined to make it a weekend to remember and has planned everything with military like precision - including making sure enough booze is available. He has his own tent - and one just for the drinks." "Everyone is saying it's a nice break for him and Zara, but it's a great way also for Zara to meet his mates. It will definitely be a boozy one and not a particularly romantic one," the source added. Zara and Louis were first linked in March this year when they were pictured on a date in Suffolk. Since then, they've been seen in Los Angeles together and Zara was recently seen supporting Louis in Costa Rica. But they have gone as far as to slightly appear in each other's social media photos as they shared matching photos from a Stereophonics concert on their Instagram stories. Zara then appeared to 'soft launch' their romance on Instagram when she posted a photo of her breakfast, featuring a view of Louis' tattooed arm in the background of the photo.
