'Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice' Anime Will Hit Crunchyroll in 2026
Developed by FromSoftware, the critically acclaimed action game is set during Japan's Sengoku period and lets players assume the role of Wolf -- also known as Senkiro -- a shinobi charged with protecting a lord with divine lineage. Crunchyroll partnered with Kadokawa, Qzil.la and Arch to bring to life the anime version that will see Daisuke Namikawa voice Wolf, Miyuki Satou as Kuro and Kenjiro Tsudawhich voicing Genichiro Ashina. Kenichi Kutsuna is directing the series that will stream on Crunchyroll in the US and globally (excluding Japan, China, Korea, Russia and Belarus).
"We are taking on the monumental task of animating the breathtakingly beautiful Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In doing so, we are pouring every ounce of our artistic vision and passion for beauty into its production," said Kutsuna. "The final product is being crafted to be a truly memorable experience, one that will leave a lasting impression on both dedicated fans of the game and those who are discovering the world of Sekiro for the very first time. Please look forward to it."

The story follows a young orphan Wolf, who is trained under Owl, a nomadic ninja who appoints him as Kuro's protector. Kuro is targeted as the last survivor of the Dragon Heritage bloodline, a lineage imbued with immortality through its deity, the Divine Dragon. During an attempt to flee, Wolf loses an arm in a fight against their main adversary, Genichiro. Throughout the fantasy adventure story, he gains a new name (Sekiro) and fights for honor, loyalty and his lord's fate.
Newcomers unfamiliar with the tale of Sekiro can count on seeing masterful katana skills, action-packed combat scenes and magic when Sekiro: No Defeat hits screens next year.

Michelle Yeoh says ‘hell yes' to English dub of ‘Ne Zha 2' (VIDEO)
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 — Michelle Yeoh is lending her voice to the English-language version of Ne Zha 2, the Chinese animated smash that raked in over US$2.2 billion (RM9.3 billion) to become the biggest animated film ever. Channel NewsAsia reported that after watching it in Hong Kong, and also while being fluent in Mandarin, Yeoh found the subtitles hard to follow amid the dazzling visuals — and knew that kids wouldn't stand a chance without a dub. Soon enough, studio A24 and CMC Pictures invited her to voice Ne Zha's mother, Lady Yin — and Yeoh's response was a resounding, 'Hell yes.' The English dub opens in over 2,500 North American theatres on August 22. The film follows the young demon-reincarnate Ne Zha, striving to rewrite his destiny by saving his village and friends. This screen grab shows a scene from the movie featuring Lady Yin, voiced by Michelle Yeoh, and her son, the young demon-reincarnate Ne Zha. — Screengrab from YouTube/A24 The sequel is accessible even if you haven't seen the first one, as it provides all the necessary backstory. Crafted over five years by 4,000 creators across 138 studios, the epic 143-minute spectacle weaves together 2,400 animation shots and 1,900 visual effects scenes. Yeoh praised the artistry, saying the team 'pushed all the boundaries…created this magical world…intricacies are mind-blowing.' The Oscar winner also helped fine-tune the English translation, maintaining a poetic nuance while keeping it contemporary and accessible. After earning over US$20 million in North America with subtitles earlier this year, Yeoh hopes the dub will help Ne Zha 2 resonate even more widely. 'It's the universal language of family... of the underdog,' she said. 'It immerses you into our culture…a beautiful way to cross that bridge.'

Daiyan Trisha laughs off "fourth wife" rumour
20Aug - Daiyan Trisha couldn't help but laugh after her name was mentioned in a rumour about an artiste becoming the fourth wife of an individual with a Datuk status. The actress recently took to Instagram Story to address the issue, saying that a reporter just called to ask her about the rumour, after many speculated that she was the actress in a recent aforementioned blind item. "I can only laugh. [They said] I have a sugar daddy, or that I am a fourth wife, that I have a sponsor, anything to dismiss my own hard work all of these years," she expressed. However, Daiyan said that she is no longer bothered by such allegations anymore and will just take it in stride. A blind item recently alleged that a popular actress has married a wealthy individual, though the actual date is not known. The rumour added that the two have dated for a while before tying the knot. ‘Super Robot Wars Y' Brings Back Some Fan Favorites With New DLC
In a new DLC trailer for Super Robot Wars Y, we get to see some familiar series return as well as a few surprising new ones. Specifically, the first DLC pack contains Galaxy Cyclone Braiger, The Big O, and Fuuto PI: The Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull. Whereas the second DLC pack includes Kotetsu Jeeg, Getter Robo: The Jet-Black Drifter, and The Brave of Legend Da-Garn. The big surprise is Kamen Rider, but I'm all for it. Some people don't think that live-action tokusatsu shows count as mecha, but I've been a big fan of Juspion for years, and that has the mighty Daileon as the main hero's spaceship that transforms into a giant robot. That aside, having classics like Braiger and Jeeg is also great. The last time I remember seeing Jeeg in a Super Robot Wars game was Alpha 3, which really needs a modern HD remaster. Then there's The Big O, which was a big part of the Super Robot Wars Z games, and is just a really cool series all around anyway. Super Robot Wars Y is released on August 28 for Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. I also manage Mecha Damashii and am currently featured in the Giant Robots exhibition currently touring Japan.
