The Philippines is made up of 7,641 islands, and this stunning archipelago is famous for its natural beauty and diverse coral reefs. In fact, World's 50 Best Beaches just named Entalula Beach in Palawan, a province in the Philippines, the best beach in Asia—and the second best beach in the world.
Entalula Beach is part of the El Nido region of Palawan. Its sandy white shores are surrounded by clear, turquoise water. This tropical paradise is surrounded by looming limestone cliffs and dotted with lush vegetation.
Visitors can snorkel through vibrant coral reefs that are just a short swim from the shore, or they can search for hidden coves by paddle board or kayak. After a long day in the water, the palm trees and powdery sand provide the perfect spot to enjoy a good book or suntan session.
Entalula Beach is largely beloved thanks to its seclusion. Visitors can only access the beach by boat, which takes about 30 minutes to an hour. The surrounding islands ensure that the journey will be just as beautiful as the destination. This also makes the beach far less busy than others in the El Nido region, and the peace and quiet allow travelers the chance to fully immerse themselves in nature.
The beach is just as beautiful below the water as it is above it. Scuba divers enjoy exploring the west bay of Entalula Island, which has a beautiful coral garden and El Nido's famous limestone wall diving site. Divers commonly spot sharks, whales, dolphins, and turtles off the coast of the island.
There are many tours that take travelers from El Nido to Entalula Beach. These also often include visits to the Secret Lagoon, Cudugnon Cave, and other islands in the area. For the most serene experience, travelers are advised to opt for the early morning tours that avoid the crowds.
In addition to its gorgeous beaches, the Philippines is also known for its bustling cities, delightful cuisine, and warm hospitality. This is a country where each island opens the door to a new adventure–whether it is swimming with dugongs in Calauit Island or hiking Bohol's Chocolate Hills.

The Transportation Security Administration poked fun at the incident in a post shared to its official Facebook page on Wednesday, June 11. The friendly reminder detailed the passenger's attempt at bringing the cooking device in their carry-on bag while traveling through Pensacola International Airport (PNS). 'Listen, friends, we love watching cooking shows as much as you do, but any top chef has to know that you cannot bring a stove with a propane tank attached through airport security in your carry-on bag,' TSA wrote in the social media post. The agency gave a shoutout to the team working at PNS for finding the stove as it made its way through standard checkpoint security on Monday, June 9. 'This one was hard to miss, but great job by our team at Pensacola International Airport (PNS) for discovering this during standard checkpoint screening on Monday, and educating the passenger on the regulations we have around prohibited items" TSA wrote in the post. 'The passenger said he was unaware that stoves and propane tanks couldn't be carried on a plane, so let this be a learning moment for everyone… propane tanks cannot and do not belong in either your carry-on or checked bags,' the post continued. Included in the post was a photo of the red camping stove discovered by the TSA team. Camp stoves are allowed on flights, but only if they are packed according to TSA's guidelines, which prohibit any fuel being brought along. 'Camp stoves are allowed in carry-on or checked bags only if they are empty of all fuel and cleaned so that no fuel vapors or residue remain. Please wrap cords and layer items in bags so officers can get a clear view of the items,' a statement on TSA's website reads. The U.S. State Department is warning Americans thinking of booking trips to Nicaragua to reconsider their travel plans because the country is sinking deeper into authoritarianism, making it more perilous for tourists. Nicaragua has been on a Level 3 travel advisory since December, which means people are urged to avoid traveling there because of an arbitrary enforcement of laws, the risk of wrongful detention and the limited health care. (Level 4 — 'do not travel' — is the highest advisory level.) U.S. officials, alarmed by a flurry of positive press about Nicaragua in travel publications took the unusual step Friday of holding a briefing to reiterate the warning. The officials spoke on the condition that their names not be published so U.S. officials can continue working in Nicaragua. Nicaragua, the officials stressed, has much going for it, including low prices, pristine beaches, plus excellent surfing conditions and bird watching. It started emerging more than a decade ago as a low-cost alternative to other nearby countries, like Costa Rica, which had become crowded with tourists. 'It does have the potential to be a great holiday destination, but crosscutting that are very severe human rights violations and a very strict authoritarian system of governance,' one of the U.S. officials said. 'And we see these having knock-on effects for U.S. citizens and really all sorts of travelers.' Summertime is in the air, and it's the perfect season to get away for a weekend. Whether you're preparing for your next road trip or popping down to the beach to soak up some sun, chances are you'll be driving to get there. Google Maps makes it easy for you to get where you're going while avoiding roadwork or bumper-to-bumper traffic along the way. Turn-by-turn directions ensure you never get lost, even when you're driving in an unfamiliar area. However, if your trip takes you through remote regions, you may not have internet access, which can cause issues. Without a net connection, Google Maps can't help you reroute, recover from a wrong turn or find a gas station. You're stuck with whatever directions you started with. Luckily, there's a smart work-around: You can plan ahead and download your map for offline use. With offline maps, you can still access turn-by-turn navigation even when you're completely disconnected. Here's how to make sure you're never lost, even without service. Instead, before your trip, you'll want to download a specific area, which could be a city, county or region where you'll be spending time and might not have service on your phone. To download a map in Google Maps offline, open the Google Maps app on iOS or Android and tap your profile picture on the top right (you must be logged in to your Google account for this to work). In the menu that appears, tap Offline maps > Select Your Own Map. You can download multiple Google Maps areas offline. Use one finger to move across the map, and a two-finger pinch to zoom in and out. As you move around the map, you'll see how much storage space the download will take up on your phone. Note: Alternatively, you can type a city or other area into Google Maps and then hit the Download button that appears in the pull-up window to download the map offline but this only works on the iPhone.
