Speaking about the key dismissal of Joe Root, he added:
"Whenever you get him (Root) out, gives you a lot of confidence and puts pressure on the opposition as well. He is a world class player. The ball is a little different from the last series I played here, obviously I understand dry conditions and hot summer as well.
The ball used to stay harder for long, that doesn't happen anymore and that is something I cannot change and don't have the power to."
Reflecting on his career and mindset, Bumrah said:
"I don't really think about media and stuff, I am very proud of my Test career. I worked really hard and really happy with the journey. There have been a few changes (since the start of Test career), I have a lot of grey hair, married and I have a young son as well.
I always keep on working on my game, the hunger is there and I always keep challenging myself.
"You only have one career and after your career, you will always have time to relax, I always motivate myself like that. During the injury phase he (Archer) messaged me and we had a lot of converstaions, I am really happy that he has gotten back to Test cricket, a format that he loves."

With this performance, Bumrah surpassed Kapil Dev's record for the most five-wicket hauls in away Tests by an Indian bowler.
Kapil had 12 five-fers in 66 overseas Tests, while Bumrah now leads with 13. Anil Kumble is third with 10 in 69 away Tests.
In his 47-Test career, Bumrah has taken 215 wickets at an average of 19.49, with best figures of 6/27 and 15 five-wicket hauls. Across all formats, he has played 206 matches and claimed 453 wickets at an average of 20.48, including 17 five-wicket hauls and best figures of 6/19.

'No risk' to India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 clash despite WCL tension: 'It can't be compared to a private tournament'
The Men's Asia Cup is around the corner. The eight-team tournament will begin on September 9, 2025. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan can potentially play each other on three occasions, provided the two teams qualify for the Super 4s and then the final. Both India and Pakistan have been clubbed in Group A. The group stage match is scheduled for September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium. India could likely face Pakistan three times in Asia Cup 2025 Ahead of the upcoming marquee contest, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) clarified that the much-awaited match is risk-free, saying the Asia Cup cannot be compared to a tournament like the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. Ever since the schedule for the tournament has been announced, the BCCI is in the centre of a huge storm as calls are growing asking the Indian board to boycott the games against Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor. Recently, former Indian players faced a lot of backlash after the match between the Indian champions and the Pakistan Champions in WCL 2025 was announced. The social media chatter resulted in Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan and Harbhajan Singh pulling out of the contest. Eventually, the organisers had to cancel the game. India Champions then also refused to play against Pakistan in the semi-final, resulting in the latter's direct qualification into the final. When will the Men's Asia Cup take place? The schedule for the Men's Asia Cup has been announced. The tournament will take place from September 9to 28 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. India will play its first match on September 10 against the UAE. The final will be played at the Dubai International Stadium on September 28. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. The 2025 edition of the tournament will be played in the T20 format, helping all the teams prepare for the T20 World Cup in 2026, set to be played in India and Sri Lanka.

‘That young boy has grown into a man': Dinesh Karthik lauds KL Rahul for successful ENG series

Fast forward a couple of years, Rahul has proved all his naysayers wrong when he ended the recently concluded series against England with 532 runs in 5 Tests. Former India player Dinesh Karthik lauded Rahul's performance, calling him one of the most technically sound players in the team. 'You got to understand. Just as the precursor to the series, the three big guns retired- Virat, Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin. Now, walking into the series, there were two big names – one is KL Rahul and one is Jadeja. Obviously Bumrah for the bowling but these two were the big names in batting, experienced. And lo and behold, KL Rahul has always had this great starts to many a series but not finished strong. But in this series that young boy has grown into a man,' Karthik said on Cricbuzz. 'I think he shouldered responsibility. He is probably the most technically sound player across both teams and he backed his technique. Under pressure, he said I will stick to my game plan and back my defensive skills and play long and I will get runs for India every game in the series. There was zero pressure when he batted, very sound in his defence and beautiful looking cover drive as you would expect from the man but most importantly, the senior statesman, the man that Indian cricket actually would need throughout this series when he faces that tough Dukes ball that is coming, he was magnificent,' he added. Rahul, who had scored 205 runs in his last Test series in England, smashed his ninth Test hundred in the opening Test at Leeds before he scored his tenth in the third Test at Lords. The Lord's hundred also meant that Rahul became the first Indian opener and overall second batsman after Dilip Vengsarkar to score multiple Test centuries at Lord's.
