‘I was stunned' – Darts icon lifts lid on Michael van Gerwen backstage bust-up with Dutch ace throwing rival over table
DARTS star Kim Huybrechts has lifted the lid on a crazy backstage bust-up that saw Michael van Gerwen throw a rival over a table.
The Belgian recalled the story when appearing on the Darts Draait Door podcast.

Huybrechts explained how he and the three-time World Champion had been warming up ahead of a tournament with Rowby-John Rodriguez.
The 39-year-old claimed: "It all started when Michael and I were practising together with the Austrian player Rowby-John Rodriguez before a tournament.
"Rowby was winding Michael up by throwing very slowly. Michael was due to play his match soon, so he asked him to speed up.
"But instead, Rowby provoked him even more by throwing even slower and chatting to me in between.
"Michael probably should've just gone to another board to continue his warm-up, but that was never going to happen.
"He's a stubborn guy. It escalated into a confrontation and they ended up nose to nose. Michael used a bit too much brute force and flung Rowby straight over the table."
The incident itself happened in front of several players, while Mighty Mike had ended up throwing Little John, 31, over a table with drinks belonging to around ten players.
One of these included Van Gerwen's close friend Vincent van der Voort, who was more concerned about his spilt drink than the fight.

Huybrechts continued: "The first thing Vincent said was to ask who was going to pay for his drink.
"Officials stepped in, and Vincent even tapped one on the shoulder to ask how they were going to sort out his drink.
"Rowby-John was lying somewhere in the middle of it all and everyone had to hold Michael back.
"I was standing there, stunned."
Van Gerwen finished runner-up at the World Championships at the start of this year but later won the German Darts Grand Prix.
Huybrechts himself is ranked 48th in the world, with Rodriguez ranked 151st and Van Gerwen third.

Lionesses hero Chloe Kelly jets off for pre-Euros holiday - as she dances and soaks up the sun with her husband and Man United star
Chloe Kelly enjoyed some downtime as she jetted off on holiday with friends ahead of England's European Championship campaign. In a series of snaps on her Instagram account, Kelly showed off her Prada designer sunglasses with the caption: 'Love me some sunshine'. The 27-year-old also shared a group selfie alongside her husband Scott Moore and Manchester United defender and England international Gabby George. The England team-mates then showed off a Tik Tok dance to the viral song Jealousy by Khalil Harrison and Tyler ICU, with Kelly calling on fans to follow her on the short-form video platform. Kelly has had a lot to celebrate since her acrimonious exit from Manchester City in January that saw her accuse the club of 'attempting to 'assassinate my character'. With her career seemingly at a crossroads, the forward was offered a lifeline by Arsenal manager Renee Slegers to return to the club at which she had cut her teeth in the game as a teenager. After joining the Gunners for the remainder of the campaign Kelly quickly became integral to the club's success and she started last month's Women's Champions League final as the north London club secured European glory. As Sarina Wiegman's side prepare to begin the defence of their European crown, Kelly's future destination in club football is still yet to be confirmed. Asked after the Champions League triumph whether she would remain at Arsenal Kelly remained coy in a recent interview. 'Who knows?' She admitted. 'I just know that I've given my all for the club and the club's given their all to me, so I'm always grateful.' However, it appears that talks between player and club are currently underway, with Arsenal noting in their retained list that 'discussions are ongoing' over a new deal for Kelly.

'Clarke seems to be doing no future planning'
We asked for your views after Scotland's abject 3-1 friendly defeat at home to are more of your views:Alexander: I really feel we need to start playing younger players. Grant Hanley is clearly at the end of his career and it's shown in every international since the Euros. Over the next two years, four or five others will be in the same position as Hanley and Steve Clarke seems to be doing no planning for the Clarke just isn't inventive, he is absolutely devoid of any ideas and should've walked after the Germany The pool of players in the Scottish team have all been successful at their respective clubs. And yet, they are unable to play a co-ordinated organised game for Scotland. The strikers consistently miss, the defence fails to defend, and the midfield lacks co-ordination. Our stand-in goalkeeper had a bad game. However, Scotland was having success with these players in the past, so what has changed? Why do they no longer gel as a team? I think the root of the problem lies with the coaching staff, the tactics employed, and poor preparation. Somewhere along the way management and coaches have fallen short of the fans expectations and, in performance terms, have Ross Doohan should be called up. He had some top performances at Aberdeen last season and is a more experienced goalkeeper. And he's played in Under-21 Clarke has to go. Now. How many excuses for insipid performances? He sticks with people who are not delivering. There is loyalty and stubborn stupidity. His selections are unadventurous and uninspiring. The crowd now expects failure. He cannot get a performance out of these players - see the Euros. Time for a change now before we lose the first two World Cup qualifiers and have nothing to do for the next two An absolute shocker of a performance against Iceland, with the horrific goalkeeping situation coming to the fore. Only George Hirst came close to pass marks. World Cup qualification hopes look slim at best, and Clarke's future as manager surely has to be in doubt. The team look to be lacking any ambition and inspiration.
