Leonardo DiCaprio shares another very awkward moment with Jeff Bezos's fiancee Lauren Sanchez

Daily Mail26-05-2025

Leonardo DiCaprio had another awkward interaction with Jeff Bezos ' fiancee Lauren Sanchez after she planted a kiss on his cheek at the amfAR Gala on Thursday.
The actor, 50, attended the gala in Cap d'Antibes, France, with girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, 26, ahead of the closing awards at the Cannes Film Festival, while Jeff and Lauren were also guests.
The viral incident saw Leo lean down to greet the couple at their table, with Jeff looking confused how to react to the gesture, while Lauren took the opportunity to awkwardly peck him on the cheek.

The charitable event featured a reprise of a video from 2021 that exploded after fans thought it showed Lauren giving Leo flirty looks when she and Jeff ran into him.
The now-iconic clip at the 2021 Los Angeles County Museum Of Art (LACMA) Art+Film Gala in LA appeared to show Lauren 'thirsting' over the actor.
At the time, Leo was chatting with her and Jeff, but fans honed in on what they thought were googly eyes that she was making at the actor
She beamed ear-to-ear as he spoke, as if there was nothing else going on.
The video made enough of a splash to prompt Jeff to film a response video with a joking threat to Leo.
In the clip, Jeff tried to convince Leo to follow him to the edge of a clip, where he could push him over the side to his death.
Leo was also spotted having an awkward interaction with his girlfriend Vittoria at the amfAR Gala.
The two were seen in a short clip circulating on social media as they sat next to each other at their table.
Leo, who was decked out in a black suit that he dressed down with a black T-shirt and his customary black baseball cap, was seen from behind, but Vittoria's face could be seen clearly as she turned to speak to him.
The actor looked as if he didn't want to have the interaction, which was drowned out by the music, as he leaned back away from Vittoria even as she moved closer and grabbed the back of his neck with her hand.
As a person stepped behind them in front of the camera, it looked as if she might have even yanked Leo back and forth before getting her mouth right up to his ear to shout over the music.

Vittoria had a tense, serious expression on her face, far from the care-free look one would expect at a celebrity gala, and her boyfriend again appeared to recoil as she grabbed at him before she pulled her hand off his neck.
Leo then nodded back at his girlfriend before leaning over to say something to her, though his face wasn't visible as he ducked behind a standing person.
Before grabbing at his neck, the Italian model appeared to take a quick glimpse back toward the camera, so she may have noticed that someone was filming them and tried to alert the famously private star.

CHRISTOPHER STEVENS reviews The Jackal Speaks: From his jail cell, terrorist Carlos the Jackal tells of his plan to nuke France

The Jackal Speaks (BBC4) As romantic gestures go, none could be more dramatic. When Carlos the Jackal's girlfriend, terrorist Magdalena Kopp, was jailed, he threatened to blow up nuclear power stations until she was released. To convince the French authorities this was no hoax, he sent a letter signed with his own fingerprint. At the time, in 1982, he was the world's most wanted man, with a rocket attack at Orly Airport in Paris among his long tally of crimes. At first, the French refused to negotiate, even after Carlos bombed a train and a newspaper office. But when they realised that his private terror network — funded by huge paydays from Libya's Colonel Gaddafi and other Arab dictators — really could destroy an atomic reactor, they caved in. Kopp, a former member of the Baader-Meinhof gang, was freed. Shortly after that, she married Carlos in Lebanon. 'I could have killed 100,000 people, irradiated half the country,' he boasted, in The Jackal Speaks. It's the sort of fantastical coup that Eddie Redmayne, as an international hitman in Sky Atlantic's thriller The Day Of The Jackal, might pull off. This documentary, produced by an Israeli company, set out to debunk the myths around the Jackal, now 75 and a prisoner in a French jail for the past 30 years. It made much of his vanity, his alcoholism and his slow slide into irrelevance as the fad for Communist revolutions died out. But it forgot that Carlos — whose real name is Ilich Ramirez Sanchez — is still a global hero and a revered freedom fighter . . . in his own mind. This 90-minute film was based around phone interviews taped with the assassin from his cell in solitary confinement. Experts including Carlos's biographer Dr Daniela Richterova and his former controller in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Bassam Abu Sharif, gave their analysis of his personality: narcissistic, reckless, pleasure-loving, needy for praise and attention. The problem is, if you allow a man like that to tell his own life story, he will talk about all the wrong bits. Carlos isn't interested in discussing how he planned his kills: the logistics seem to bore him. And he certainly doesn't care about the dozens of people he killed — their lives are meaningless to him. Instead, there was a lot of boasting: 'I was the best shot, I shot better than anybody else.' And he spent a long time reminiscing about his parents and his childhood in Caracas, Venezuela. It was half an hour before we heard about the first assassination attempt, when he walked into a house in St John's Wood, London, and shot the chairman of M&S, Joseph Sieff, in the face. Incredibly, Sieff — who was also vice president of the British Zionist Federation, survived. The bullet was deflected by his teeth. 'Good advert for the Milk Marketing Board,' he joked. Now there's a line that belongs in a thriller.

Chelsea in shock transfer talks with AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan whose stats shows up Robert Sanchez

CHELSEA are in talks with AC Milan to sign goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The France star, 29, has only a year left on his contract in Italy, with both parties yet to agree on fresh terms. 1 And the Blues have been alerted by Maignan's failure to pen an extension at the San Siro, where AC Milan failed to qualify for Europe. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca believes the £34million-rated stopper is an ideal option for his possession-based attack. The Stamford Bridge outfit already have five keepers on their books — Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Mike Penders and Kepa Arrizabalaga. But Maignan's potential arrival would see him challenge for the No 1 jersey in another shake-up to the goalkeeping department. Chelsea fans have been calling for a new No 1, with both Sanchez and Jorgensen failing to prove they should be the main man between the sticks. French Guiana-born Maignan helped Lille to the French title in 2021. He won Serie A with Milan a year later. Maignan has amassed a total of 163 appearances for the Italian club and made four errors leading to goals last season, comparing to Sanchez's five. But AC Milan could cash in now amid fears he could leave the club on a free transfer in 2026. Maignan has played 30 times for France and was named in the Euro 2024 team of the tournament. Jadon Sancho shares his Chelsea highlights reel as he says goodbye to fans ahead of Man Utd return Maresca's Chelsea are set to make Liam Delap their first summer signing. The Blues will pay his £30million release clause at relegated Ipswich, who he joined last summer from Manchester City. Chelsea will also welcome youngsters Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez and Dario Essugo to the club. One player leaving the club is Jadon Sancho. Chelsea paid Manchester United £5m NOT to sign him on a permanent basis. And the winger, 25, posted on Instagram: 'Grateful for the experience. Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home — teammates, staff and the fans. 'Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful. Thank you Blues.'

Alcaraz inspired by rival Sinner for ruthless Roland Garros win

PARIS, June 3 (Reuters) - Defending French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz drew inspiration from his main rival and world number one Jannik Sinner to race past Tommy Paul in 94 minutes and reach the Roland Garros semi-finals on Tuesday. Alcaraz gave a masterclass in attacking tennis to win the opening two sets in under an hour and overwhelmed the American 12th seed for a 6-0 6-1 6-4 win and a meeting with Italian Lorenzo Musetti. The Spanish second seed's ruthless display came a day after Sinner beat Andrey Rublev in three sets to continue his devastating form at the year's second Grand Slam. "I love to watch matches on my days off, and yeah, let's say he inspires me in some way just to give my 100% in every match," Alcaraz told reporters. "He sees how important it is to play at such a great level in the whole match, just to have more time to recover after the match. So I'm just trying to do it as well. "But for me, it's great to have tennis. I love Grand Slams for that because on my days off, I have great matches to watch and get inspired by watching them." Alcaraz beat Musetti in the Monte Carlo final and the Rome semi-final en route to the title but expected a tough test when they face off again in Paris. "It's going to be a beautiful battle, a beautiful match," Alcaraz added. "I think we're both playing great tennis. Monte Carlo final, semis in Rome, so it's going to be great for the people to watch as well. I have to be ready for that match."
