Fairground ride snaps mid-air in Saudi Arabia, injuring 23, state media reports
Videos verified by CNN showed the '360 Big Pendulum' ride collapse while in use, causing the passenger-bearing circular carousel to smash into the other end of the pendulum before hitting the floor.
The accident occurred Wednesday evening at an amusement park in the Al-Hada area of Taif, near the city of Jeddah, state media Arab News reported.
According to state-controlled outlet Arab News, Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the region's governor, ordered the immediate closure of the resort while an investigation into the collapse takes place.

Teens killed in Dartmouth crash identified
Two teens killed in a Dartmouth crash Saturday have been identified. Kevin Dos Santos Lopes, 19, of New Bedford, and Amilton De Pina Semedo, 18, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, both died Saturday. At about 1:35 p.m. Saturday, there were multiple 911 calls reporting a crash on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth near mile marker 19.4 near the Reed Road exit. A 2006 gray Chevy Equinox was the only car involved. Both teens had been ejected from the SUV and the crash dislodged the SUV's engine. They were taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. The crash is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police along with Troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. But, officials said, it is not deemed suspicious. 2-year-old in critical condition after falling from Worcester window

A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling from a window onto their driveway, according to the Worcester Police Department. Police officers, members of the Worcester Fire Department and Worcester EMS all arrived near 490 Shrewsbury St. on Friday afternoon, according to a post on the police department's Facebook page. They met with the father of the child, who was taking him to the emergency room, the post reads. The father told the officials that his son had fallen from the window of their home and that he was unresponsive. Officers performed CPR on the child, who was driven to a nearby hospital. The child's identity has not been revealed. Lt. Sean Murtha told MassLive on Saturday that the child is still in critical condition. An investigation by detectives revealed that the child had fallen through a closed window screen and fallen 10 to 12 feet to the driveway below, according to the department. The home is located in the Hamilton Street neighborhood. The incident is still under investigation but it appears to be accidental as of Friday, police said. Wichita Falls woman killed in wreck
A Wichita Falls woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Clay County late Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a media release. The DPS said the wreck happened at 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Benton Street and South Prairie Avenue in Petrolia. The DPS said a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by Brittany Michelle Bowman, 36, of Wichita Falls was traveling northwest on South Prairie and a 2012 Dodge Ram was travelling northeast on East Benton Street. The DPS said the pickup failed to yield right-of-way at the intersection and struck the Nissan, spinning it into a ditch. The DPS said Bowman was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries she suffered. The driver of the pickup, Marc Stephen Deffenbaugh, 47, of Abilene was brought to United Regional hospital in Wichita Falls with incapacitating injuries.
