Dy CM donates Rs 50L for devpt of Konidela village
Nandyal: In a significant gesture of public service and personal commitment, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan has sanctioned Rs 50 lakh from his personal funds for the comprehensive development of Konidela village, located in Nandikotkur Mandal of Nandyal district. District Collector G Raja Kumari handed over the cheque to the District Revenue Officer (DRO), Administrative Officer (AO), and Section Superintendent at a programme held at the Nandyal Collectorate on Tuesday.
The funds are earmarked specifically for village development initiatives, with instructions for proper utilization.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector stated that this financial aid follows an appeal by the Nandikotkur MLA, who urged the Pawan Kalyan to support the development of the village that bears his family name.

COIMBATORE: 'Tamils have self-respect and we will never allow Tamil Nadu to be ruled from Delhi,' said Chief Minister MK Stalin during a government programme in Salem on Thursday. The chief minister released water from the Mettur Dam for irrigation in delta districts, and announced an increase in the procurement price of paddy to Rs 2,500 per quintal. 'Farmers will now get Rs 2,500 per quintal. Accordingly, the procurement price of paddy will be increased to Rs 131 for the normal variety and Rs 156 for the short variety. The normal variety will be purchased at Rs 2,500 and the short variety at Rs 2,545.' Taking a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's speech in Madurai, Stalin said, 'Some people cannot bear the functioning of the Dravidian model of governance. A few days ago, Amit Shah came to Madurai. He criticised the DMK government saying we only make announcements and do nothing. He claimed that the DMK government is reversing the schemes provided by the BJP-led government at the centre. The truth is that the state government is providing additional funds because these schemes cannot be implemented using the funds allocated by the union government. The state government is allocating over 50% of the funds for schemes that bear Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name.' Referring to a scene from the Rajinikanth-starrer film Padayappa, he said, 'There is a dialogue — he is the groom, but the shirt he is wearing is mine. Similarly, the schemes may be launched by the union government, but we are providing the funds.'

Every penny given to the Centre by Tamil Nadu returned, says BJP leader Annamalai
COIMBATORE: Former president of Tamil Nadu BJP, K Annamalai, on Thursday said the two schemes – Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam and Muthalvar Marundhagam – introduced by the TN government in competition with the central government's Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma scheme and Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Periyojana (PMBJP) have utterly failed. He said the Muthalvar Marundhagam scheme has failed to attract people and also affected the supply chain of the PMBJP scheme. He was speaking to the media in Coimbatore after releasing a book detailing the BJP government's electoral promises and its accomplishments. The book launch was part of the celebration of 11 years of the BJP rule at the centre. Stating that the BJP has transparently shared information about its promises, Annamalai criticised the DMK government for failing to fulfill at least 50 of its 512 electoral promises, even after completing four years of its rule in TN. He highlighted that TN has contributed Rs 4,36,136 crore to the central government over the last four years, while the total transfer from the centre to TN has been Rs 5,47,380 crore. 'Every penny given to the centre from the state has been returned. We will share the data, and the state government can verify it,' Annamalai said.
