Tomorrowland organisers in race to build NEW stage after horror fire – as festival to begin today at delayed time
Organisers of the Belgian music festival - one Europe's largest - vow the party will kick off on Friday with or without a main stage, and just two hours behind schedule.

Some 400,000 people are expected to attend the electronic dance music festival over two weekends - with of thousands already at the site in the town of Boom, south of Antwerp.
Years of creativity and craftsmanship had gone into building this year's main stage set piece - and it was set to be spectacular.
Heartbreakingly, the whole lot went up in flames just two days before some of the world's biggest DJ names were set to play there - including David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia.
A furnace engulfed the entire structure, leaving nothing but a charred skeleton.
Thankfully, nobody was injured in the blaze.
The organisers were quick to confirm the festival would proceed, though admitted it would likely be without the crown jewel.
But now, the festival says it is racing to pull in a new main stage in time to open on Friday, two hours later than originally planned.
If they do not manage to source a new stage, then the festival will still open at the same time, but just in a reduced capacity - before opening fully on Saturday.
At a press conference on Thursday evening, Tomorrowland spokeswoman Debby Wilmsen said they hoped a "nice, new stage" would be ready for Friday.
If that fails, then the campsite, called Dreamville, and the festival grounds will be separate off for Friday.
Artists who had been due to perform on the main stage will instead take to the Gathering Stage, which is in Dreamville.
Campers would not be able to access the rest of the festival grounds until Saturday in this case.
Debbie reflected on the challenge ahead in comments made on Thursday, saying: "Years of love and passion have gone into building that stage. Those teams are devastated.
"Tomorrow, 38,000 festival-goers will arrive, we're really looking forward to that, and we're going to give them a warm welcome. We're going to make it a wonderful festival."

"All of the other stages are still intact.
"The intention is for the festival to go ahead. But we can't do magic, so it will be without the main stage," she added.
The first weekend of the festival runs from July 18 to 20, followed by a second from July 25 to 27.
The exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
But sources told Gazet van Antwerpen that the fire may have started while the main stage's fireworks cannons were being tested.
What is Tomorrowland?
TOMORROW is a globally renowned electronic dance music festival held annually in Boom, Belgium.
It features performances by some of the world's top DJs and artists, showcasing a wide range of electronic music.
The festival is famous for its elaborate stage designs, immersive experiences, and vibrant atmosphere.
Tomorrowland began in 2005 after being created by Belgian brothers Manu and Michiel Beers.
It has gone on to be one of Europe's largest festivals, attracting around 400,000 guests from over 200 countries.
It also features DreamVille which is the festival's glamorous camping arena.
Due to its popularity, Tomorrowland has even expanded to put on events across globe.
These include TomorrowWorld, Tomorrowland Brasil, and Tomorrowland Winter in the French Alps.
In several online videos, what sounds like fireworks can be heard going off as the flames spread.
Local firefighter François van den Eynde described the scene as nearly impossible to control.
"The blaze spread very quickly," he told Rolling Stone, "likely because of the materials used."
He added: "Despite all our resources, it was impossible to stop something like that.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA review — when one artist outshines the other
Co-headlining performances are a tricky business — one of the artists is almost inevitably going to outshine the other. At Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona in June, Troye Sivan's sections during Charli XCX's headline set often felt like ad breaks. The same was true of many of the R&B star SZA's moments during her sold-out concert with the rapper Kendrick Lamar at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Tens of thousands of fans bounced ecstatically to Lamar's meticulous, exhilarating delivery before popping out for a drink when SZA appeared. It seems her disappointing turn as Glastonbury headliner in 2024 wasn't a one-off. It didn't help that the drums were too loud for the majority of the show, often drowning out her vocals, nor that she missed out a few of her best tracks, such as Supermodel and Prom. Her penchant for dressing as an insect is interesting (she has said that this stems from her view that 'being a person is daunting'), and there was added excitement when she flew up as a butterfly for Nobody Gets Me. I was less sure about the giant ant she sat on during Kitchen, which stayed stationary until her dancers rolled it around a bit. She and Lamar do have one of the biggest hits in the pop canon together: the hopeful, romantic belter All the Stars, which they delivered from opposite sides of the stadium, facing each other on raised platforms. But are they friends? When did they meet? They gave no context for their decision to tour together; even if the motive was purely financial (and it is the highest grossing co-headlining tour yet, earning $254 million on its North American leg alone), they could have dressed it up with at least a hint of a story. • Read more music reviews, interviews and guides on what to listen to next Thankfully Lamar was brilliant as ever, playing on his continuing beef with fellow rapper Drake — the latter is suing Universal Music Group for defamation over Lamar's Grammy-winning track Not Like Us — and showing cheeky video clips of him at a mock deposition between songs. The feud may be petty, but Lamar's response in music has led to some crackers: the fiery, pyrotechnic-fuelled Like That was a standout. Of his older work, Backstreet Freestyle from 2012 was enhanced by exquisitely timed performances by his dancers, as was Money Trees and Humble. The Black Lives Matter anthem Alright hit as hard as ever. A band on stage wouldn't have gone amiss, especially for the piano riffs in Reincarnated. But in the end, less than two weeks after Drake's underwhelming gigs at the London festival Wireless, Lamar has once again firmly established himself as the superior artist.★★★☆☆Kendrick Lamar and SZA perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, tonight, @timesculture to read the latest reviews

'Rave guy' whose eyepopping picture found him internet fame recreates meme that made him famous at Tomorrowland - and reveals what he's up to now
For some, the party don't stop. Shaun Jackson - the 'rave guy' who went viral for his eyepopping moves - is one such person. The wide-eyed northerner may have been cutting shapes at a Preston night club over a decade ago but the immortalised dancer was spotted at Tomorrowland, enjoying himself just as much. In a bright yellow T-shirt and a bustling crowd, Mr Jackson was dancing along to Charlotte de Witte, a techno DJ at the Belgian music festival. Specialising in electronic dance music, Mr Jackson would have felt right at home. Then some 40 years old, Mr Jackson was first captured in promotional footage for the Rumes bar in 2014 cutting shapes on the dance floor. The clip soon amassed hundreds of thousands of views - also catapulting the obscure night club where he raved the night away into international fame. While the party-goer has continued his love for a good time over the years, spotted at several dance events, he has also been spending time his grandchildren. The most recent clip of him dancing, Mr Jackson's moves were met with mixed response. One person wrote 'this is kind of sad' and another said 'beyond borrring now'. But others welcomed his fun-loving spirit, with a user writing 'proper old school raver, keep up with those disco biscuit dancing skills' and one person adding 'f***ing legend he is alive and enjoying! Respect!'. In one of his most recent Instagram posts - dated August 2023 - Mr Jackson poses shirtless with his tongue stuck out during a trip to Ibiza. Since then, Mr Jackson has uploaded elsewhere - on his TikTok - with one of the latest videos being a bizarre clip captioned 'on my wedding day', from May 2024. In it, the Chorley local, wears what appears to be a teal-coloured dress as he gestures over at a woman dressed in a white gown, who initially has her back turned to the camera. The video has elicited comments such as 'you are too funny! love it!' and 'still going strong'. There are number of videos also posted by Mr Jackson from 2023 where he makes expressive faces at the camera and, in his job as a plasterer, shows off some of construction work. Though, in a sweet clip captioned 'day in the park with the grandkids', he waves his arms about before a grandson spins him round and round in the park play area, with the northerner growing increasingly red. In his 2019 interview with Flexxed, Mr Jackson previously revealed he'd gone out with 'three-quarters of a bottle of Vodka already down by neck and then three or four drags of real good MD (MDMA)'. He also made headlines in 2022, when spotted at the Glastonbury Music festival and even had an action figure made in his honor that same year. The former boxer also once told BuzzFeed he was delighted with his fame and while on a weekend shopping trip 'everyone started clapping and cheering'. Mr Jackson previously said his only regrets were there had been no one filming when things got wilder as the night went on.
