Kelsea Ballerini doesn't want exercise to "feel like a punishment".
The 31-year-old singer's favourite way of keeping in shape is to go for a good long walk, but she also takes regular Pilates classes because she "doesn't hate" doing it as much as other formers of keeping fit.
She told People magazine about her fitness routine: "For me, it's walks. Walking is so good for you. It also makes you get fresh air and some good sunshine, and that's so good for your mental health.
"I'm a Pilates girly. That for me has been my tried and true the last five years because I don't hate doing it, and I don't want working out to feel like a punishment."
When it comes to her diet, Kelsea follows an "80/20 rule".
She explained: "So 80% of the time I'm really healthy, 20% of the time catch me at McDonald's.
"My favourite thing to cook — I've been upping my protein a lot recently just because I didn't realise how much protein we're supposed to have as women— and I cook a really good chimichurri steak ... that is my go-to.
"I'll do it a couple of times a week. I have some in the fridge downstairs ready to go."
The Cowboys Cry Too singer loves an occasional treat meal from McDonalds, which she believes is a throwback to her childhood.
She said: "As a kid, I was such a picky eater, and my parents joke with me, like, 'All you would eat were waffles and chicken nuggets.' So I think it's just probably my inner child craving it still."
As she gets older, Kelsea's attitude to fitness has changed with her desire to be "360 healthy".
She said: "I think especially in my early twenties and mid-twenties, the idea of fitness was very much only aesthetically driven, and that was my goal.
"The older I've gotten, [the more] mentally healthier I've gotten as well...
"I want to be mentally healthy. I want to be physically healthy, emotionally healthy, and I want to be able to sustain the life and the career that I've been lucky enough to build for myself...
"It's the most important thing to me now, honestly."

Halsey saves videographer from pyrotechnics

Halsey intervened during her concert to save a videographer from getting burned. The Bad at Love hitmaker was performing in Pittsburgh on June 14 when she noticed the camera operative was in the path of upcoming pyrotechnics, and after her subtle hint failed to make the man move, she took more drastic measures. According to E! News, Halsey had mouthed "Get out of the way" to the videographer while singing Without Me, but when they failed to pick up her cue, she jumped up and rushed to show the man off the side of the stage before the flames shot out. Halsey told the videographer: "There's pyro coming! Move!" The 30-year-old singer then quickly ran back to the centre of the stage with a nervous laugh to carry on the song. This isn't the first time Halsey - who has three-year-old son Ender with former partner Alev Aydin and is engaged to Avan Jogia - has encountered a major mishap during a show. In 2021, everything "stopped working" during a concert at New York's Madison Square Garden. Halsey told The Late Late Show with James Corden: 'I was onstage, and everything stopped working. Sound, lights, video, music, the whole thing, my brain. 'Everything malfunctioned, and I had to stand on the stage for two minutes talking to the crowd. Two minutes in stage time is like a century.' The Gasoline singer eventually opted to start the whole performance again. She continued: 'When that happened to me, I just started my whole show over from the top, so that I could do the whole thing with no mistakes.' Halsey and Avan got engaged towards the end of last year and the 33-year-old actor recently spoke of how much he enjoys being able to "make art" with his fiancee. He told People magazine: "One of the great joys of being with someone who's an artist is being able to make art with them and to go back and forth about the art that they're making and how you can contribute and be helpful, and them being able to contribute and be helpful to your own art. "The only thing that I care about is the making of things. "So when you have someone who can meet you there and meet you where you're at, that's one of the joys of it, for sure. "If he busts through the door and has an idea, and I bust the door and have an idea, and it doesn't have to be about acting or music or movies — it could be a cookbook — we just make what we have to. "I think I'm happy to have found someone I can be matched with in that capacity."

Joseph Kosinski explains why Simone Ashley was cut from F1

Simone Ashley's role was cut from F1 because there was too much footage. The Bridgerton actress was cast in the Formula One racing drama alongside Brad Pitt and Damson Idris but director Joseph Kosinski had to drop a number of storylines from the finished film, including the scenes featuring the 30-year-old star. Simone has a brief on-screen appearance but no dialogue in the movie, and the director told People magazine: "It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use. There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make into the final cut." However, Joseph praised Simone's "incredible" talents and insisted he'd love to work with her on another project. He added: "But Simone, she's an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again." While Simone hasn't yet spoken about not making the final cut, she previously admitted making F1 was a "once in a lifetime experience. Speaking at IWC Schaffhausen at their Watches and Wonders booth in Geneva, she said: "(It was a) once in a lifetime experience. So grateful to be part of that film and part of the long journey that they've all endured. "We got to experience everything in real time at the real races, the real Grand Prix, the roar of the crowds, the roar of the engines, the chaos, the energy. I got to travel all over the world." Simone explained that she prepared for the movie – which IWC Schaffhausen have collaborated with by sponsoring 'APXGP', the fictional 11th team on the grid - by "immersing" herself with the cast. She said: "I'm very grateful to be part of this movie and my preparation for it was to just be part of the team and to just immerse myself within it all. I made some great friends on this film, which really meant a lot to me." And Simone compared the experience to starrring in a theatrical production because of the unique challenge of filming scenes at the same time as the world's leading drivers were preparing for Grand Prix around the world. She said: "It felt just like theatre, like waiting in the wings, waiting to be called to go on to the grid or wherever we were filming. Sometimes we only had like five minutes or 10 minutes of access to film a scene. "Every time we were filming on the grid or parc ferme we would all be gassed up and excited. Getting ready together, Brad would be playing music – even talking about it makes me have goosebumps. It was just indescribable."
