Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma shared a fun moment with Arjun Tendulkar as the team departed after their IPL 2025 campaign ended.
Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma was seen shaking hands and bowing down in a hilarious gesture with Arjun Tendulkar, with the youngster also having a smile on his face, as the squad departed from Ahmedabad to their respective cities as their IPL 2025 campaign came to an end.
Tasked with defending a formidable 204, Mumbai were undone by a Shreyas Iyer masterclass that propelled Punjab to their second Indian Premier League final.
Maintaining their tradition of slow starts, MI found themselves stumbling this season with just one victory in their first four matches.
Led by the core of Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit, ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah and skipper Hardik Pandya, among others, Mumbai stitched together a six-game winning streak that not just dragged them into the playoffs but revived belief in a sixth title push as well.
After the team's exit, clips of Mumbai cricketers parting ways at the airport have gone viral, especially one moment between Rohit and Arjun, which went viral on social media. Watch the video here:
Rohit endured a tough start to IPL 2025 but found his form with a brilliant unbeaten 76 against the Chennai Super Kings.
Rohit was the Player of the Match in Mumbai's Eliminator victory over the Gujarat Titans, where he smacked a terrific 81 off 50 balls to guide the team to a huge score of 228/5.
But unlike that match, Rohit (4) couldn't capitalise on a reprieve when Azmatullah Omarzai (2/43) dropped a tough opportunity running behind from short third off Kyle Jamieson (1/30) in the third over.
Unfazed by the blow, Mumbai motored on to reach a scoring rate of 10 runs an over, which they maintained through the course of the innings.
Tilak Varma smacked his second delivery down the ground for a six while Jonny Bairstow unleashed powerful strokes on either side of the wickets as they added 51 runs for the second wicket in a little under six overs to stage a robust recovery.

Euphoria for RCB turns into tragedy for Bengaluru

On Tuesday night, 18 years of heartbreak, despair and harrowing memories had finally given way to an indescribable euphoria. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, an Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit with one of the biggest fanbases, had finally scaled the peak it had promised to so often, only flattering to deceive. Tears of joy flowed from that indomitable cricketer, Virat Kohli. With the IPL crown too on his mantelpiece, he has won almost everything the world of cricket could offer. Naturally, the euphoria would spill out of the stadium in Ahmedabad. As soon as the Rajat Patidar-led side had beaten Punjab Kings in the final, people in Bengaluru had started one giant party. They were entitled to do so. That's the moment fans wait for in near-religious penance — the day when the tears of a 100 lonely nights are washed away by the magic of one trophy-laden celebration. On Wednesday afternoon, though, scenes of utter joy gave way to an utterly avoidable tragedy as at least 11 fans died while wanting to catch a glimpse of their team and their favourite stars with the trophy. Imagine that for a second. People leaving their homes hoping to get their own pictures of Virat Kohli. At least 11 of them will go back in coffins. Those tragic scenes at the Chinnaswamy Stadium would haunt the franchise forever. This points towards lack of basic planning. Victory parades and fandom are an integral part of club culture abroad. The European football landscape is replete with such events. Of course, not always without incident, but such stampede-like situations would be hard to imagine. Italy's Napoli had a season to remember: the celebrations were wild but without incident.

The IPL 2025 final saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinch their maiden title, and the win stirred up an outpouring of emotions across the country. Among the most heartwarming reactions came from Allu Arjun's 11-year-old son, Allu Ayaan, whose video post-win has gone viral for all the right reasons. In a clip shared by Allu Arjun on Instagram, Ayaan, an ardent Virat Kohli fan, is seen overwhelmed with emotion following RCB's historic win against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Captioning the video, Arjun wrote, 'Ayaan getting super emotional. #viratkohli fan boy moment. Soo cute my chinni babu #alluayaan #rcb #ipl2025." The video shows Ayaan declaring, 'I love Kohli, I like Kohli so much. I got into cricket because of him," before dramatically collapsing onto the floor, screaming with joy. To calm himself down, he pours water on his head, and finally exclaims, 'Finally, we did it!"—capturing the sentiment of millions of RCB fans across the country. The internet quickly embraced the video, with fans and celebrities alike reacting to Ayaan's raw and relatable outburst. Actor Nandu commented, 'Ayaan is literally us now." One fan wrote, 'Virat deserves this," while another chimed in, 'Real Madrid and RCB. yes yes mutuals Ayaan bhai," noticing Ayaan's football jersey. The clip was widely re-shared across Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), earning heart emojis, laughter, and plenty of 'Ee sala cup namde" chants. Allu Arjun, who has also been a long-time supporter of RCB, shared his own reaction on X, writing, 'THE WAIT IS OVER. Ee sala cup namde! At last! We've been waiting for this day for 18 years. A big, big congratulations to RCB!" On the work front, Arjun was last seen in Pushpa: The Rise and will next appear in Pushpa 2: The Rule. 'We promptly amended our...', RCB says about stampede at Chinnaswamy in Bengaluru

Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of the IPL 2025 victory celebration of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in Bengaluru on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. (Photo: IANS) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have mourned the horrific stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday that claimed 11 lives and left 33 others injured. Thousands of RCB fans had gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to participate in a felicitation function for the RCB team that won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 title, ending the franchise's 18-year-long wait for the title. The stampede was reported outside Gate 2 of the stadium shortly after RCB players reached the Vidhana Soudha to meet Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The crowd outside the stadium had been swelling for hours amid confusion over whether the victory parade would actually take place. Many people have criticised RCB for going ahead with a felicitation function for its players while the victims were suffering in the hospitals. But the franchise said they had amended their program soon after being made aware of the tragedy. 'RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extends our heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our program and followed the guidance and advice of the local administration,' the RCB said in a statement. 'We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team's arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us. 'We urge all our supporters to please stay safe,' RCB said in the statement released late in the evening. The tragic scenes outside the stadium unfolded rapidly. As barriers collapsed, panic spread among the crowd. Police personnel, unable to control the surge, watched as many fans were crushed in the chaos. Emergency teams rushed the injured to Bowring and Vydehi Hospitals. Survivors described heart-wrenching scenes—of people gasping for breath, unconscious bodies on the ground, and cries for help drowned in the commotion. RCB legend Virat Kohli also put out the same official statement, expressing his sorrow through an Instagram post.
