India are set for three Youth ODIs, the first of which will begin on September 21. All three matches of the series will be played at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane, as will the first of two Youth Tests. The second match of the Youth Test series, where the games will be four days long, will take place at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.
Suryavanshi already has a taste of success against the Australians, having plundered a 58-ball century in their Youth Test in Chennai in 2024, in his signature attacking and flourishing style. However, he will want to prove his mettle in red ball cricket after having a quiet pair of matches in England this month.
However, Suryavanshi was the top-scorer and on top form in the Youth ODIs, where he was top-scorer in the five-match series as India U19 won the series 3-2. Mhatre, meanwhile, top-scored in the two Tests with 340 runs, as both matches ended in well-contested draws. The batter, who already represents Mumbai at a senior level in the domestic circuit, will retain captaincy duties as well.

The PGA Tour solidified its field of 70 golfers for the FedEx Cup playoffs following the final round of the Wyndham Championship on Sunday, and Gary Woodland was among a host of notable names that failed to qualify. He tied for 23rd at the Wyndham and finished the season 72nd in points. Woodland was attempting to make the playoffs for the first time since he underwent surgery for a brain lesion in 2023. The first man out was Davis Thompson, who nearly rocketed from 78th place by tying for 11th at the Wyndham. Nicolai Hojgaard of Denmark had a fine season and contended at last month's Open Championship but finished 73rd in points. Australian Adam Scott fired a 65 on the first day of the Wyndham but was pedestrian from there. He needed a victory to catapult from 85th to the top 70, but instead dropped back to 90th in points at season's end. Further down the list were Joel Dahmen (No. 93), South Korea's Tom Kim (No. 94) and Max Homa (No. 111). Defending FedEx Cup champion Scottie Scheffler holds a large lead over Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy as the top 70 players head to the FedEx St. Jude Championship this week in Memphis, Tenn. The next number to watch is No. 50, as only the top 50 after Memphis will advance to the second leg of the playoffs. Australia's Min Woo Lee currently holds the 50th spot. Bumrah fit, available for Asia Cup

London: Mohammed Siraj's strong-hearted effort across five Tests reflected in his numbers as well, returning with 23 wickets to go equal with Jasprit Bumrah as an Indian bowler with most wickets in a Test series in England. Bumrah achieved the feat during the 2021-22 series to go past Bhuvneshwar Kumar (19). Siraj is also the highest wicket-taker of the newly-minted Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, which ended with a 2-2 verdict after India's epic six-run win win at the Oval here on Monday, followed by England's Josh Tongue (19). Beyond the individual achievements, India also set some team records during the drawn five-match series. Narrowest win The six-run win that they scored at the Oval was India's smallest in terms of runs in Test cricket, surpassing the 13-run victory that they had achieved against Australia at Mumbai in 2004. Meanwhile, India made a total of 3,809 runs in this series, which is the most ever scored by a team in a five-match Test series. Winless streak India have also managed to extend England's winless streak in Test rubbers against them to four dating back to 2018. The Gill effect India skipper Shubman Gill had a windfall series, scoring 754 runs, along the way overcoming two towering batters from the yore — Gavaskar and former England captain Graham Gooch. Of course, Gill is the highest run-getter in the series. The aggregate saw the elegant right-hander going past Gavaskar's tally of 732 runs to become the Indian captain with most runs in a Test series. Gill also broke Gooch's 35-year-old record (752 runs) for most runs in a Test series between India and England.
