The terrorist attack in India's Pahalgam could result in massive upheaval in the cricketing calendar for the sub-continent teams, especially Pakistan and Bangladesh, besides the Men in Blue. So far, there have been demands of India enforcing a complete boycott of Pakistan in the cricketing world, but it's also quite possible that the Men in Blue cancel their scheduled tour to Bangladesh in August for three ODIs and three T20Is, a media report has claimed.

The development comes after a retired Bangladesh army official spoke about occupying seven states of Northeast India on a social media platform. 'If India attacks Pakistan, Bangladesh should occupy the seven states of North-East India. In this regard, I think it is necessary to start a discussion on a joint-military system with China," Maj Gen (retired) ALM Fazlur Rahman said in a Facebook post.
BCCI to boycott Bangladesh tour?
A report in the Times of India has claimed that there's a 'bright possibility' India and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could cancel Men in Blue's tour to Bangladesh because of the recent comments over Northeast India. However, no 'concrete' decision has been taken so far.
'The tour is part of the calendar but nothing is final yet. There is a bright possibility of India not touring Bangladesh for the ODIs and T20Is because of the current situation,' a source told the Times of India.
Asia Cup could be scrapped in 2025
The already rising tension between India and Pakistan and now the disparaging remarks from Bangladesh, have put a question mark over the Asia Cup T20 2025 as well. The report adds that India-Pakistan cricket could become 'unlikely' in the near future.
The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to take place in September after India's tour of Bangladesh. If India pull out of the Asia Cup to boycott Pakistan, then there are good chances the tournament will be scrapped in 2025.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has urged that sports and politics should not be mixed. 'Whenever I meet our cricketing family, which features top players like Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Joe Root, we meet like brothers and learn a lot from each other. I'll just say that politics should not be brought into sport,' he said.
The calls for a complete boycott of Pakistan in cricket have been growing strong in India ever since the Pahalgam attack. Legendary captain Sourav Ganguly is one of the prominent sporting voices supporting this demand.

Even if it means giving him a break after the 2nd Test match, and then getting him back for the 4th and 5th, because a fit Bumrah will be very important," he said. The India legend then cautioned the new Test captain Shubman Gill on how to utilise Bumrah during the matches and urged Gambhir too keep a close eye on the proceedings and according guide the skipper. "Shubman Gill needs to understand not to bowl Bumrah into the ground. Use him as a wicket-taker, use him in short spells, so that he remains fit for five Test matches. And make sure the others [chip in] – young Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, has got tremendous fitness and ability, and is a warhorse. Make sure Bumrah is used as a wicket-taker. He has got to understand that, and I am sure Gautam [Gambhir] is there, and the senior players there, they will guide him," Ganguly added. Although the Ben Stokes-led side will be heading into the series as favourites in the wake of the sudden retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Ganguly reckoned that if Bumrah can remain fit for even four matches, India could claim their first series win in England in over a decade. "Very inexperienced batting line-up at the moment on paper. Obviously, on the field, it's different. With [Joe] Root, [Harry] Brook, [Ben] Stokes, [Ben] Duckett, Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse, it's a good Test team. But still, nothing stops India from winning. There is no one favourite in sports. India, if they work hard and Bumrah stays fit even for four tests, will win this series."

The incident occurred when thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite players ahead of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL victory celebrations. 'BCCI will call an apex council meeting on June 14 to discuss the IPL celebration and formulate new norms. The meeting could be held virtually,' a BCCI Source told ANI. Eleven people were killed and dozens injured in a stampede outside Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy stadium as a huge crowd of nearly 3 lakh people had gathered to witness the victory celebration of RCB for winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday. The Karnataka Police have also filed an FIR against the Karnataka Cricket Board Administrative Committee, RCB, among others, in connection with the stampede incident. CM Siddaramaiah also expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. 'A major tragedy occurred during the victory celebrations. It happened near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the deceased. The government will provide free treatment to the injured. Eleven people died and 33 were injured in the stampede. This tragedy should not have happened. The government expresses deep sorrow over this incident.'
