Singer Tom Grennan has revealed he was left with mental scars after being the victim of an unprovoked attack.
Aged just 17, the star has told Pete Wicks about the horrific ordeal in which he was beaten by three men.
Appearing on Pete Wicks' new podcast Man Made, Tom said about the 'random attack': "I got held by three guys, bear hugged, so I couldn't move and just kept getting pounded in my face.
"I was there, couldn't move whilst taking the punches and I think that - well, 17, just turning 18 and that flipped life on its head, where it demasculated me, do you know what I mean? Whatever that word is.
"I was like, you've completely ripped out every little bit of confidence, every little bit of me, I wasn't me anymore. From that little moment, completely has changed my whole life.
"I had to rebuild everything and I think that's obviously where my anxiety came from, the beginning of it."
The Little Bit Of Love singer added: "I think understanding of who I was, more than being a man. It was more just like, who am I? What have I got to do now to be better or just be me again?"
He told Strictly star Pete: "Mate, I couldn't leave the house. The thoughts, man. I was like if I'm not me, then f**k it."
The singer, who suffers from anxiety, said: "I've still got it, mate. If I was sticking it on the geezer or if I was annoying him or if I was being loud and if I was antagonising him, I'd have had a better understanding of because I probably deserved it.
"I thought, oh my God everybody loves me, I'm good, life is sweet, and then that happened. Then I thought, my God, everybody hates me. I lost a year of being at home, I was just at home. I lost friends, I became angry.

"Not understanding why these people have done this to me. I was so angry. I don't know how deep I can go, if this could even be on the podcast, but I remember saying to my mum, I remember going, I'm going to kill myself.
"She was like, what? I was like yeah, but I'm going to go kill them first. I remember trying to leave the house and I didn't know where they were and my mum was so scared that I was going to go kill somebody and then kill me. That f***ed my mum up, it f***ed me up, man, it was deep."
On using therapy to help him through, the It Can't Be Christmas singer admitted: "I've done it previously and then I've dipped out and then I dip in and dip out, but right now I'm in because I think for me, having an understanding of where these feelings and why my mind goes to the places it goes to. A therapist can't be like, this is why.
"I think having a space to be able to talk, this is like a therapy thing for me right now because having a place to talk openly and freely about anything is amazing.
"I leave a room, I'm like, okay, now I feel a bit lighter now and I think that's why I'm in it at the moment, because I've got a lot of pressure.
"I've got a lot of big life events happening and it's just being able to navigate them so I don't then start fires in my head and in reality, I can easily fall off a cliff and start creating fires."
Born in Bedford on June 8, 1995, Grennan first started singing at gigs in London at the age of 18.
However, his big break came when featured on Chase and Status' 2016 single All Goes Wrong.
His friends encouraged him to pursue a music career after seeing him performing The Kooks at a house party.
In his early music years, he was scouted at a Finsbury pub and offered a record deal with Insanity Records.

Molly-Mae Hague reacts to Love Island audition tape and first time meeting Tommy
The next series of Love Island is due to begin on Monday night with host Maya Jama and the helm and plenty of new singles ready to find love Molly-Mae Hague has reacted to her Love Island audition tape and first time meeting Tommy Fury. The mum-of-one shared a vlog to her popular YouTube channel where she shared a video of herself watching her audition tape in a bid to enter the villa. She starts the clip by laughing at the camera while her audition tape plays in the background. The previous Molly-Mae in the tape talks about how a ex told her she was "too much to handle" before they split up but then Molly looks at the camera in her vlog and says "what am I actually talking about" as it seems she's struggling to recall the moment. Molly previously said that she gave herself "the ick" watching her audition tape back. She explained to her fans: "Basically Fran [her manager] got an email a few weeks ago saying that they were doing a 10 years of Love Island programme to celebrate the 10-year anniversary. "They said that my audition tape is going to be shown and Fran was like 'Is there anyway we could see the audition tape before it gets put on TV considering Molly hasn't seen this in coming up to seven years?' "I've never actually seen it, because it obviously it was filmed and I never got to see it, I actually forgot that even one existed to be honest. "And it's about to be on TV in a minute and I have literally zero idea what to expect, because I've never seen it before and I'm actually really scared as to what I'm going to say, what I'm going to ever look like, or sound like. "Maybe they might not show mine, but I think they will because Fran got told they definitely are going to and they said we can't show you a sneak peek." The vlog then skips to Tommy, who hasn't been on her YouTube channel for months due to their split. However it looks like he's back as they pair recently confirmed that they are once again an item. Molly shows fans that she's watching old episodes of Love Island which includes the moment when Tommy and Molly first met. Tommy giggles as he says "the wanderer returns" before Molly explains they are reminiscing on how they met. Tommy says: "Do you know what it is? Genuinely, I miss that place. I do miss it because you had no worries in there. You didn't have a phone, which you know I love. You had your own little clique in there, you got on with people, it was good wasn't it." Molly and Tommy recently confirmed that they are back together after taking months apart due to his struggles with alcohol. The iconic couple split up last year as a result of the boxer's issues with alcohol which was revealed on Molly's documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All. However, it seems that the couple couldn't stay apart and are now giving things another go. The two of them share their daughter Bambi together. Love Island returns Monday, June 9 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star breaks silence after being 'suspended' from EastEnders
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Jamie Borthwick, known for his role as Jay Brown in EastEnders, has issued a sincere apology after he was caught using an offensive term against disabled people. The incident took place about six months ago during his time on Strictly Come Dancing and has led to speculation that the actor might have been suspended from the BBC soap. The Manchester Evening News reported that the soap star used the derogatory term in a video referring to the people of Blackpool, where the beloved Strictly episode is traditionally filmed at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Disability charity Scope and a Blackpool councillor have expressed their disappointment over the matter. In a statement to The Sun on Sunday, Jamie expressed his regret: "I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly. (Image: BBC/Jack Barnes) "I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused. It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning. That is on me completely. "Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did. It was wrong," reports the Express. (Image: ITV) He also made a point to offer a specific apology to the residents of Blackpool, emphasising his contrition for his comments. The Sun claims that the actor has been sidelined from EastEnders, resulting in the BBC issuing the following statement: "This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. We have robust processes in place for this." Jamie's Strictly appearance last year was marked by his partnership with Michelle Tsiakkas. The controversy allegedly began in November when the Strictly cast filmed at Blackpool Tower Ballroom. (Image: PA) Meanwhile, singer Wynne Evans, famous for Go Compare adverts and 53 years old, also faced criticism for stroking partner Katya Jones on live television, despite suggestions that it was meant as a joke. This is not the first time the popular show has been surrounded by controversy. In previous seasons, backstage tension led to the sudden exits of Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice. Reach PLC has reached out to the BBC for comment. Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One later this year, with past episodes available to stream via ITVX.

In clips shared to social media by guests at the lavish wedding, the newlyweds shook their stuff and showed off their impressive moves. DIY SOS presenter Nick was decked out in his pink jacket while lingerie boss Katie sported her elegant blue floral gown as they swayed and gazed lovingly into each other's eyes. Ever the joker, Nick couldn't resist having a laugh and busted out some twerking at the end, while Katie jokingly shook her head. Katie then did a costume change and slipped into a white mini dress with match trainers and a glittery hat. Nick clearly liked what he saw, removing his jacket and spinning it around over his head. And despite having to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing due to injury last year, Nick proved he's still got the moves as he spun his wife around the floor. Later the pair let their hair down further by downing shots with their pals. There was also lots of entertainment for guests, with a carnival dancer taking to the stage at one point. Later, a band performed songs for the merry crowd. Nick and Katie spared no expense on the big day, which is rumoured to have cost six figures. Nick Knowles marries Katie Dadzie as bride shuns tradition in blue floral gown as pair celebrate wedding day They said 'I do' in the same venue that Rylan Clark married ex-husband Dan Neal in 2015. Katie and Nick got engaged in 2023 after getting together in 2021. They met when Katie's daughters befriended Nick's youngest son Eddie at a play centre. He then got hitched to Eddie's mum Jessica Moor in 2012, but they called it quits in 2016. She said: "I think at the start, it was probably more irritating, especially for my family. But now those comments kind of just pass over me because we both know it's not true. "Nick works hard, he has what he has. I work hard, I have what I have and then we buy each other stuff. "So we're both really comfortable with where we are with that and you will always get it because there's an age gap.' She continued: "I know plenty of people who are together and the same age where someone's using the other one for money and they're not happy. "So as long as I know it's not true and he knows it's not true, I think that's, that's pretty much all that matters."
