Few teams have such polarizing situations on the offensive and defensive sides than the Cincinnati Bengals. Offensively the Bengals can compete with any team in the league.

Defensively, however, they struggled mightily last season and their offseason operations currently have two of their most important players out of action.
Both Trey Hendrickson and rookie Shemar Stewart are not with the team currently, standing firm on their own holdouts. Hendrickson's case is the more serious of the two with a nasty public back-and-forth between himself and the team.
This leaves a growing level of uncertainty heading into next season with plenty of concern for Al Golden in his first year running this defense. Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport has since labeled the Bengals as one of the "losers" from OTAs.
"The Cincinnati Bengals had one of the NFL's most explosive offenses last year. But the team missed the playoffs, largely because of a leaky defense that ranked 25th in the NFL."

While the contract theater plays out on the side, the Bengals are still roughly where they left off last season. Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and the rest of the offense should be brilliant again though they risk a lackluster defense weighing them down.
"The Bengals will move the ball in 2025. They will score points. But they won't go anywhere if the defense is dreadful again... And improving isn't going to be easy if the Bengals can't rush the passer."
The worst part? There's no visible path to a resolution either specifically in the case with Hendrickson. He is not the only player holding out in pursuit of a contract extension.
But the frustrations from the player's side have gone more public than most disputes in recent seasons. When this happens, there are now inevitable distractions that have followed.

The Bengals have a little over a month until training camp so there is some time to make progress on both fronts though they have their work cut out to reach any turning point.

🌎 The Club World Cup guide to...Paris Saint-Germain

Our guide to all 32 clubs participating at the FIFA Club World Cup continues. You can check out the full list so far here. Today we're looking Saint-Germain. How did they qualify for the Club World Cup? Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the USA this summer through the UEFA confederation rankings table. The French side have accrued 85 points over the last four-year period - the fourth-best of any European club. History at the Club World Cup 📸 MAHMUD HAMS - AFP or licensors Advertisement This will be the first time PSG have participated in the Club World Cup. The closest the French side have previously come to anything like the Club World Cup was all the way back in 1975 when they played host to the Tournoi des Paris - a four-way tournament that included South American champions Fluminense and European Cup winners Feyenoord. How did they perform in the 2024/25 season? PSG have been the best team in Europe this season, winning the Treble - Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Champions League. Their 5-0 triumph over Inter in the final in Munich was widely hailed as the best performance in the competition in decades. Who is the coach? Spanish tactician Luis Enrique serves as PSG's head coach. He was appointed in July 2023 and has since extended his contract until June 2027. Under the former Barcelona boss, PSG have become, arguably, Europe's most complete side with one of the most potent attacks in the world. Who is their star player? After adopting a policy of signing the world's most famous players for almost a decade, the French giants have opted instead to go for team cohesion over social media numbers. As such, winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is now arguably their most recognisable name. Expected performance at the Club World Cup Despite being drawn in a tough group, if this season's performances are anything to go by, PSG can comfortably be considered one of the favourites. 📸 KARIM JAAFAR - AFP or licensors

New York Giants' Malik Nabers among NFL's top 50 players in merchandise sales

New York Giants' Malik Nabers among NFL's top 50 players in merchandise sales New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is a superstar after just one season, wowing NFL audiences with his dazzling athleticism and circus catches. Nabers broke several NFL and franchise records as a rookie and appears poised to put up even bigger numbers in 2025 thanks to the additions of quarterbacks Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Jaxson Dart. For those reasons, it should come as little surprise that Nabers catapulted up the NFLPA's list of merchandise sales, landing firmly in spot No. 36 from March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2025. The NFLPA's Top 50 Player Sales List ranks the league's top retail performers based on sales of officially licensed player products from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025. It is the most comprehensive and up-to-date snapshot of player-driven consumer demand, offering a strong indicator of the NFL's most marketable and influential athletes – impacting everything from endorsements to overall earning potential. These rankings go beyond jersey sales, covering a wide range of product categories including apparel, bobbleheads, accessories, figurines, wall decals, backpacks, drinkware and more. These are the only verified rankings based on officially licensed NFL player products sold through both online and in-store retail channels, as reported by over 85 NFLPA licensees. Somewhat ironically -- and perhaps sourly -- former Giant Saquon Barkley unseated Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, becoming the first running back to claim the No. 1 spot since 2017 (Ezekiel Elliott). Despite that, Nabers' strong showing should not be overlooked. Nine NFLPA Rising Stars broke through the year-end rankings—a strong signal of future retail power. Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Jahmyr Gibbs, Drake Maye, Malik Nabers, Puka Nacua, Sam LaPorta, and JJ McCarthy all turned early buzz into real consumer demand. Current Giants quarterback Russell Wilson finished 41st in year-end sales, although that came as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pacers Get Unwanted Caitlin Clark News on Friday

Pacers Get Unwanted Caitlin Clark News on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The NBA Finals are all tied up now. This is after the Oklahoma City Thunder secured a crucial 111-104 win on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to reclaim home-court advantage in this series. Advertisement The Finals will now shift back to OKC for Game 5 on Monday, tied at 2-2, and with the Thunder playing in front of a capacity crowd at Paycom Center. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was in attendance again for Friday's game as she continues to cheer for the Pacers in their quest for their first-ever NBA championship. Indiana entered Game 4 with an 8-0 record in the NBA playoffs with Clark in attendance. However, their unbeaten streak came to an end after Friday's disappointing loss. Clark has proven to be the Pacers' lucky charm in the postseason, but it appears that their fortune ran out on Friday night. Nevertheless, an 8-1 record is still undeniably impressive. Caitlin Clark attends the 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Terada-Imagn Images The bad news, though, is that Clark won't be able to watch Game 6 in Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday. The Fever have a road game scheduled the following day against the Golden State Valkyries, which only means that Clark won't be in Indianapolis for what will be the Pacers' final home game this season. Advertisement If the Pacers win in Oklahoma City in Game 5, then they could potentially close out the series at home in Game 6. Regardless of the outcome of that pivotal matchup, however, the fact of the matter is that Clark won't be able to attend Game 6 to cheer on the Pacers.
