Price was the last to pull off the Hart-Vezina double in 2015. Hellebuyck is just the sixth goalie to do it, joining Price, Jose Theodore in 2002, Dominik Hasek in 1997 and '98 and Jacques Plante in '62.

Kucherov, the Art Ross Trophy winner for leading all scorers with 122 points this season, was also chosen for the Ted Lindsay Award as most outstanding player, as voted on by his peers. The Russian winger was MVP in 2019 when the Lightning finished atop the standings.

Draisaitl, the Rocket Richard Trophy recipient for scoring a league-high 52 goals, won the Hart in 2020 after the season was cut short by the pandemic. He became the first German player to be MVP.
Los Angeles captain Anze Kopitar won the Lady Byng for sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct for a third time, an award announced earlier Thursday.
A majority of the awards were already presented over the past few weeks, given out as surprises for the first time with no advanced notice. Colorado's Cale Makar got the Norris as the top defenseman, Florida's Aleksander Barkov the Selke as the best defensive forward and Washington's Spencer Carbery the Jack Adams as coach of the year.

Recently, two NFL trailblazers (we call them such for different reasons) sat down, and guess whose name came up in the conversation. Sometimes, you'll run across a youngster, and he or she will be shocked when you tell him or her that Cris Collinsworth played football. Eight years with the Cincinnati Bengals produced a good career, but he is best known for his work on FOX Sports and, now, NBC. Then, there is Pro Football Focus, where he is the majority owner. PFF has blazed a trail with its own version of storytelling and stat collection. It has truly changed how we view the game. Recently, he was joined by another game-changer, Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee and two-time Super Bowl champion, Peyton Manning. They say game recognize game, and recently, two guys who have given the game so much shared their thoughts on QB play as well as their admiration for the Eagles' star signal-caller. Take that, haters. As an old uncredited saying goes, one's opinion is only as valuable as that person's knowledge of a particular subject. Manning was pretty good at playing quarterback. Like him or not, Collinsworth has seen a ton of football. If they say that they have never met someone more intent or serious, that's good enough for us. And, to you people who believe Baker Mayfield and Justin Herbert are better quarterbacks, to that argument we'll offer another. Wake us up when they win Super Bowls and are named the game's MVP. Don't worry. We'll wait.

WNBA ratings and attendance are still strong despite top stars missing games with injuries
NEW YORK -- Even with many of its top stars sidelined, the WNBA has still had strong ratings and attendance numbers this season. Injuries have kept Caitlin Clark, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier and Angel Reese out, but that hasn't dampened fan interest in the league. ESPN games are up slightly over last season and games on ABC are up 17%. Attendance has also still been strong, thanks to the addition of the Golden State Valkyries this season, who have sold out all of their home games, averaging more than 18,000 fans. Still, it's not all been rosy for the league with negative attention coming towards the WNBA with a number of sex toys being thrown on the court at various arenas over a two-week span. That has subsided over the last few days. For the most part, even without their stars, those teams have been able to play at a high level. Minnesota has won all three games without Collier — the MVP frontrunner — who is sidelined with a right ankle sprain, to remain in first place in the standings, increasing their lead to 6 1/2 games over New York and Atlanta. Indiana has gone 6-2 over its last eight games without Clark, who has been out for nearly a month with a right groin injury. She is progressing from the injury but still is not practicing. The second-year guard told Sue Bird on her podcast that she feels a level of 'responsibility' to play, knowing that so many people have been drawn to the league because of her. 'I think that's definitely been hard. I'm going to go to every road game no matter what, whether I'm playing or not. It's hard because obviously I do feel this responsibility of being out there and playing,' Clark said. New York has been up and down without Stewart, who said she plans to be back by the end of the month from a bone bruise in her right knee. The Seattle Storm will unveil a statue of Sue Bird on Saturday before the team faces Phoenix on Sunday. Seattle is the first franchise in WNBA history to dedicate a statue to a former player. Early next month, Bird will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Minnesota remained the No. 1 team in the poll with Atlanta and New York still behind the Lynx. Phoenix and Las Vegas followed the Liberty. The Aces are riding a four-game winning streak. Indiana, Los Angeles and Golden State are next. Seattle fell to ninth as the Storm have lost five straight games. Washington and Dallas came after the Storm with Chicago and Connecticut rounding out the poll. A'ja Wilson of Las Vegas was the AP player of the week after averaging 25.3 points, 13 rebounds and 3.7 assists to help the Aces win all three of their games last week. She had the first 30-point, 20-rebound game in league history in a win over Connecticut on Sunday. Other players receiving votes included Kelsey Plum of Los Angeles and Alyssa Thomas of Phoenix. now don't play again until the two teams tip off in Minnesota. New York has back-to-back games in Los Angeles and Las Vegas before heading to Minnesota.

He resoundingly answered "Joe Burrow" before looking into the camera with a face that could add even more fire to his answer. There is no arguing that Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He continues to be a top 10 player in his respective position, but he is also up against two other phenoms. There are those who would argue that Buffalo Bills signal caller Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson are above Burrow in the quarterback subject. Funny enough, a quarterback tier ranking from The Athletic stated that Patrick Mahomes and Burrow are tied for first place, with Josh Allen in third, and Jackson in fourth. Still, Jackson has won two MVP awards and should have arguably won his third in 2024. That honor was given to Allen instead. Burrow, on the other hand, has not yet won that prestigious award. That is not to say that Burrow is not a top quarterback in the NFL, but the trio of passers are often spoken about in the same conversation. That does include Mahomes, as well. The difference among them all is that Mahomes has also led his team to five Super Bowls in the last six years. Burrow has made one appearance, while Jackson and Allen have yet to reach the big game.
