Superman earns Rs. 7 crore on day 1 in India, beats films like Maalik and F1
According to the Financial Express, the film is expected to earn around ₹20 crore over the weekend, thanks to high interest from fans and strong advance bookings in premium formats like IMAX and 4DX.
Superman's opening day box office beats F1, Maalik
Among the new releases, Superman had the highest opening day collection. Brad Pitt's F1 made ₹5.5 crore, while Rajkummar Rao's Maalik earned ₹3.35 crore. Shanaya Kapoor's debut film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan saw a poor start with only ₹35 lakh.

While Superman couldn't beat Jurassic World: Rebirth's ₹9.2 crore debut, it still made it into the top three Hollywood openings of 2025 in India. Films like Captain America: Brave New World and Final Destination: Bloodlines fell short of Superman's performance.
Star cast and CBFC cuts
The film features Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and also stars Milly Alcock, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced. The story shows a young Superman struggling with his identity, media pressure, and his early relationship with Lois Lane, while Lex Luthor begins to rise.
In India, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) removed a 33-second kissing scene and trimmed a few dialogues and gestures. Even with these changes, Superman has impressed critics and fans alike, showing that the superhero still has a strong pull at the Indian box office.

‘Don't Believe In Divorce': Amitabh Bachchan Once Addressed Tension With Jaya Amid Rekha Controversy
In the 80s, rumours of Amitabh Bachchan's affair with Rekha persisted, but he denied divorce to Jaya Bachchan due to his 'Indian values'. Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jaya Bachchan were the most hit headline-makers of the 80s. An already married Bachchan was rumoured to be smitten by Rekha back in the day. However, nothing materialised since the Sholay star once said that he doesn't 'believe in divorce" amid rumours of tension in his marriage with Jaya. Jaya Bachchan, reportedly, would dismiss rumours of her husband's affair in interviews. As written by Yasser Usman in his book Rekha: The Untold Story, published by Juggernaut, Jaya reportedly once said, 'Let the whole world say what they want. He [Amitabh Bachchan] has made a commitment to me and he has to have the courage (to say he's in love with somebody else!), and if he is doing something behind my back, it's his problem. Not my problem. He has to live with it. And with his conscience!" Then came Amitabh's response to growing tensions in his marriage.
