Love Island's Angel was 'dating The Only Way Is Essex's Dan Edgar' weeks before show

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Angelique 'Angel' Swift may be a new face in reality television, but she is no stranger to reality stars - having previously enjoyed dates with Towie star Dan Edgar
A new Love Island bombshell enjoyed secret dates with a cast member of The Only Way Is Essex before entering the villa. Angelique 'Angel' Swift became one of the new entrants to ITV's long-running dating show this week.

The 26-year-old blonde bombshell immediately turned heads when she entered the villa and seemed to hit it off with the 2025 contestants. However, it seems Angel may be shielding a damaged heart, as it has been claimed she had been entering a romance with a reality star before she jetted to Majorca.

A report has revealed that Angel had struck up the beginnings of a romance with Dan Edgar - who reality show fans will recognise from Towie. The 35-year-old reality star has appeared on the ITVBe series since 2015 and who has famously previously dated Towie co-star Ella Rae Wise.

Dan and Ella began dating in early 2024 but broke up at the beginning of this year. A heartbroken Ella was subsequently seen on the reality series Celebrity Big Brother.
But in recent months, Dan and Angel reportedly got close. However, it seems the romance did not pan out as Angel is now starring on Love Island and looking for a romance.

A friend of the dating show star told The Sun:"They were together during one of the May bank holidays in Marbella and spent time hanging out. They were seen at various events, it was casual dating but they had fun together."
Conversely, a friend of Dan told the outlet: "It was just one date really, and it was after he split from Ella. Dan was very much single at the time."
The Mirror has contacted representatives of Dan and Love Island for comment. Angel drew attention when she made her entry to the villa towards the end of this week - with a possible love triangle emerging.

Her entrance resulted in a cheeky conversation with 30-year-old Harry Cooksley, who is coupled up with Helena Ford. Harry and Helena, 29, had already endured various on-and-off-again recouplings - and Angel's arrival looks set to provoke further upset.
The new arrival wasted no time getting her graft on and pulled Harry for a chat to see how he's feeling about his current couple. And it didn't take long for their exchanges to turn saucy.

Harry made intense eye contact when talking to her about mornings, saying: 'You like the mornings, do you? What about…?" He then stared at her intensely and hinted at a more sexual subject.
Harry went on to say: "Cause I'm into that. Ends up with a little spooning.' Angel responded by telling him that she does "like being a little spoon".
Harry then asked the bombshell if she was easily attracted to new men she meets. She then confessed: "When I sleep with someone, I get feelings. So I can't sleep with them because I'm just like, 'Ah, I'm in love.''
In a flirtatious response, Harry then joked: 'We might have to hold off on that spoon in the morning then.' And as the conversation drew to a close Angel asked if the 30-year-old was ready to go and join the rest of the villa.
But then Harry commented: "I want to stay here with you.' Fans were left wondering how his romance with Helena would advance. Love Island continues on Sunday night at 9pm via ITV2 and ITVX.

Furious Love Island fans demand boy ‘goes home' after ‘never missing a chance to humiliate' partner

FURIOUS Love Island fans have demanded one boy "goes home" as he "never misses a chance to humiliate" his partner. Last night's episode of Love Island saw the boys rate each girl that snogged them in the racy challenge. 5 5 5 5 The lads were all blindfolded and donned headphones, not knowing who was smooching them. But raging fan couldn't believe Harry scored his partner Helena an eight, which was lower than his ex Emma and his former villa partner Shakira. Harry's excuse was he didn't even know it was her when they kissed, despite her saying she gave him three pecks at the end like she does when they're together. Harry claimed her kiss was too quick and not slow like the way they usually kiss One fan said: "He never misses an opportunity to humiliate her. Never. The amount of disrespect every single time." Another fumed: "Harry seriously needs to go. He has such little respect for Helena. "I hope she watches it when she comes out and see's all his lies. It's ridiculous at this point. Emma is also too obsessed w Harry as well, it's irritating." One more said: "Harry knew that was Helena he kissed but wanted to use the opportunity to show the other women interest." Someone else said this on X: "Is Helena just pretending not to know, or is she really that clueless? "Harry clearly knew it was her, that's why he only gave her 8 points. Love Island star Yasmin's sister is convinced exes Emma and Harry have secret game plan and hints at pre-villa pact "He just wants to mess with her head and soft-launch the fact that he doesn't like her." During Helena's kiss with Harry, she wrapped her hand around his neck as a signal to him that it was her. When it came to describing their kiss, Harry said: "A familiar one for me, I've had the hand around the neck before, as for the kiss itself an eight out of ten." Speaking in the Beach Hut, a disappointed Helena said: "Harry scored me an eight, I'm trying to work out if he didn't realise it was me, but I don't know how he wouldn't realise that was me." Emma then worked her way down the line-up during her turn. She then enjoyed a long kiss with Harry, which promoted Helena to say: "Emma and Harry's kiss went on for a long time, f*** off Emma." Harry described the kiss: "She grabbed the bum cheeks straight away, I've got a little spring in my step back and slowed things down on the kissing front which I'm a big fan of." It came off the back of Harry enjoying chats with new bombshell Angel. He even told her that he'd love to be in his bed. Emma and Harry were together for three years, but split after she claimed he cheated and brought other girls back to their home — something she revealed in explosive scenes during her return. 5
