Céline Dion Calls Out Ellen DeGeneres In Resurfaced Clip

Buzz Feed14-07-2025
Back in 2020, BuzzFeed News published a series of investigations into the alleged toxic work environment on the set of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which subsequently led to several clips from the show being reexamined by viewers.
Perhaps one of the most notable examples of an Ellen segment that has aged badly is Mariah Carey's infamous 2008 interview, during which Ellen pressured her into revealing her pregnancy.
This weekend, a resurfaced clip of Céline Dion's reaction to a question from Ellen sparked a wave of renewed backlash over the talk show.
In the clip, which took place in 2007, Ellen questioned Céline's decision to let her son René-Charles, then 6, grow his hair out. 'It seems like you're busy with something, 'cause you're forgetting to cut your son's hair,' she said before showing a photo of the little boy on screen. 'Look at him, he's beautiful, but look at his hair! When are you gonna cut that hair?'
While the audience half laughed and half gasped at Ellen's question, Céline quickly made it clear that she wasn't impressed. 'Do you have a problem with that?' she asked, to which Ellen quickly replied, 'No, I don't have a problem.'
Céline went on, 'You know, I have to say, it's amazing, right? Some people shave the heads of their children, and people say, 'Oh, isn't that terrible.' Well, I don't even cut my son's hair, and they say, 'Oh my God, when is she gonna cut her son's hair?''
'Whatever I will do, I won't please anyone… Did you know that René-Charles makes his own decisions?' she said, noting that she'd asked her son many times if he wanted his hair cut or even trimmed.
Looking back on the clip now, several internet users called out Ellen's lack of 'self-awareness' as they criticized the interaction. 'I love how badly some of these Ellen clips have aged. She was viewed as a 'fun' and 'happy' place to go promote things and instead some people got rude invasive questions masked under humor and some people she literally scared the daylights out of with her 'surprises,'' one person wrote.

Ellen DeGeneres 'would love' to host another talk show years after toxic workplace allegations

Ellen DeGeneres is not ruling out the possibility of another talk show in her future. During a live conversation with broadcaster Richard Bacon on Sunday, the 67-year-old former talk show host shared that she misses so many things about hosting her own show, but doesn't think that format would work in today's world. "I mean, I wish it did, because I would do the same thing here," she told Bacon, per the BBC. "I would love to do that again, but I just feel like people are watching on their phones, or people aren't really paying attention as much to televisions, because we're so inundated with information and entertainment." Since moving to England in November 2024, DeGeneres has taken her time in deciding on her next career move, admitting she is making that move "very carefully." While she doesn't know what is next for her, she says "I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens but I'm a little bit bored." Ellen Degeneres Shows Off English Countryside Home As Sheep Invade Through Open Door The comedian hosted "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for 19 seasons from 2003 to 2022. The show came to an end two years after allegations of a toxic work environment came to light in July 2020. Read On The Fox News App DeGeneres addressed the allegations during the opening monologue on the first episode of her 18th season. In the monologue, the comedian issued an on-air apology, in which she called herself "a work in progress" before adding she is "especially working on the impatience thing." "No matter what, any article that came up, it was like, 'She's mean,' and it's like, how do I deal with this without sounding like a victim or 'poor me' or complaining? But I wanted to address it," she said in her conversation with Bacon. "It's as simple as, I'm a direct person, and I'm very blunt, and I guess sometimes that means that… I'm mean?" She went on to say that she finds it "hurtful" that she probably can't "say anything that's ever going to get rid of…or dispel" the rumors that she is mean, and that she "hate[s] that people think that." When asked about her recent move to the English countryside, she confirmed it was influenced by President Donald Trump winning the election. She told Bacon she and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, originally planned to split their time between England and the United States, but changed their minds following the election. "We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in,'" she said. "And we're like, 'We're staying here.'" Since moving to England, the comedian and de Rossi have noticed "everything here is just better," highlighting the beauty of the city, "the way animals are treated" and the overall "simpler way of life." Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks."Original article source: Ellen DeGeneres 'would love' to host another talk show years after toxic workplace allegations Solve the daily Crossword

Ellen DeGeneres Blames Trump for her Exodus

Known bully and disgraced talk show host Ellen DeGeneres blames Trump for her US exodus. I'm Tomi Lahren, more next. Now I didn't vote for Donald Trump so that annoying loudmouth liberal celebrities would leave the country, but it's certainly a bonus perk! Especially in the case of known bully and disgraced talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. She told the BBC in an interview that while her and her wife's adventure to the UK countryside was intended to be part-time, after Trump won the election last November they decided to make it permanent. Lucky us! And the same sentiment goes to her pal Rosie O'Donnell who also fled the greatest country on the face of the Earth due to an election that didn't go her way! Rosie, of course, moved to Ireland and we all hope she stays there! But there's something pretty ironic about the places these disgruntled celebrities chose to flee to…they are in Europe.. and to places that are predominantly white and highly developed… They aren't going to Haiti or Somalia or the Gaza Strip… funny how that works, isn't it? Regardless, the USA is better without them in it! I'm Tomi Lahren and you can watch my show 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' at Learn more about your ad choices. Visit

Phoebe Philo's 'Collection D' Gives a Glimpse of How We'll All Be Dressing Next Year

Phoebe Philo is a master of her craft, and the preview for her upcoming 'Collection D,' the fourth in her collection series, demonstrates many of the finest aspects of her abilities. At Celine (or Céline, while still under her tenure), she approached fashion as a subtly intellectual mode of expression. It's no wonder, despite how many others try to recapture her elusive nonchalance, that Philo's eponymous label possesses the ability to still reign supreme. As with the edits and collections that came before it, Phoebe Philo has revived numerous treasured silhouettes from her time at the French house. The brand's current Gig Bag proves an updated version of the Trio—and we're all better for it, especially with 'Collection D's' suede earth-toned continuations. The silhouette of an enveloping Moon bomber or Kinked Tailored Dress feels satisfyingly familiar, yet with her signature flair, they are also indulgently new. Philo's woman is at once young and old—a design skill one can only acquire from a comprehensive understanding of the spectrum of feminine style, no matter the actual age of the person she's dressing. But however serious her customer (and price point) may be, it's the details that cause hidden delight to bubble to the surface. Take the Cape Bomber, crafted in an exquisitely seasonless shade of brown, which creates an effortlessly hybrid silhouette, and perhaps pair it with a coronet made from goose feathers. It might still be high summer, but Philo has already set the standard for translating operatic dramas into our winter wardrobes without feeling overtly costume-y. Delicious details follow through the rest of the collection, too. Incredibly simple oversized T-shirts are paired with outlandish bottoms like the Wisp Feather Trousers. The Sugar Tops—apron-like shirts with bubbled hems—warn that Philo might actually successfully bring the peplum back, but more than anything else, they give a buoyancy and balance to her other signature loose-fit and streamlined shapes. The leather straps on the Buckle Sandals are excessively long, as if accidentally untrimmed, and yet there's a definite feeling of fun in letting them feel a little bit askew. Elsewhere, the Low Buckle Sandals pile on top of themselves. Footwear continues to be one of the brand's strongest categories (alongside its perfectly paparazzi-blocking sunglasses), and it's no surprise that the rest of the industry's freaky footwear experiments are finally catching up. As a brand, Phoebe Philo's seasonless design presence remains obstinately in its own lane, a stance that, for a two-year-old company, remains impressive in a design world still so rigidly ruled by the fashion calendar. Though the pieces won't begin to drop until early 2026, their impact is already being felt.
