Lottery player tries luck at online game — and wins $513,000 jackpot in Georgia
A stroke of luck led a Georgia lottery player to a half million-dollar prize.
The Ellenwood resident took a chance playing the Jackpot Spectacular Diggi Game and won $513,332 on the mobile app June 7, according to the Georgia Lottery.
The game, available exclusively online, features a Mega Money Jackpot that starts at $150,000 and grows with each play, the lottery's website says. To win, players match 'clusters' of three or more identical symbols, three Mega Money symbols or three Free Turns symbols.
The overall odds of winning any prize in the Jackpot Spectacular game are 1 in 3.88, the lottery said.
Officials didn't release additional information.
It's the latest big lottery win for the Peach State, coming four days after a Fantasy 5 player won a $529,972 jackpot in the June 3 drawing, McClatchy News reported.
The winning ticket, purchased by a Covington resident on the lottery's mobile app, matched all five numbers.
Ellenwood is about a 20-mile drive southeast from downtown Atlanta.

Husband told wife she would win big in lottery. Then his prediction came true
A husband told his wife she would win a big lottery prize — then his prediction came true. Patricia Battle was thrilled to learn that her North Carolina scratch-off ticket was worth $150,000. 'I was so nervous I couldn't even drive home,' the lucky winner told the N.C. Education Lottery in a June 13 news release. Battle hit the jackpot after a trip to the EZ Stop store in the town of Nashville, a roughly 45-mile drive northeast from Raleigh. While there, she spent $5 on a ticket for the Super Loteria game. 'Something just told me to get that ticket,' she said in the release. Battle 'could barely control her excitement' after she scored one of the game's six top prizes. It's something her husband thought would happen, according to lottery officials. 'He always tells me, 'You're going to hit the big one baby,'' Battle said. 'He told me yesterday too before I got the ticket.' Battle, who lives in Nashville, kept $107,626 after taxes. It's not the first time someone's hunch was spot on. Another North Carolina lottery player 'had a feeling' he would win a huge prize before he got richer, McClatchy News reported June 12.

Lottery player wins $108,000 jackpot at Florida Publix. Where was ticket sold?
A stop at Publix led to a big lottery prize for one lucky winner in Florida. The player hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, winning $108,935.86 in the evening drawing Thursday, June 12, the Florida Lottery said. The winning ticket, sold at a Publix Supermarket in Port St. Lucie, matched all five numbers and beat odds of 1 in 376,992 to take the top prize, according to the lottery's website. The winning ticket remained unclaimed as of Friday morning, lottery officials said. The Fantasy 5 numbers drawn Thursday evening were 13-16-19-20-30, results show. A ticket sold in Miami also netted a $54,117.32 jackpot in the game's midday drawing that same day. Winners have 180 days to claim prizes on draw games and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, the Florida Lottery said. Port St. Lucie is about a 120-mile drive southeast from Orlando.

Lottery winner couldn't stop looking at lucky ticket. ‘Am I seeing this right?'
A lottery player scored a huge prize — and couldn't keep her eyes off her lucky ticket. 'I was asking myself, 'Am I seeing this right?'' Prudence Powell, who works in North Carolina and lives in Virginia, told the N.C. Education Lottery. Powell's six-figure win was the real deal. Now, she hopes to save for retirement and help with her daughter's student loans. 'This is life-changing for me,' Powell told lottery officials in a June 11 news release. Powell got richer after she tried her luck on Red Hot Numbers, a Fast Play jackpot game. She works at Blue Ridge Tobacco & Candle Outlet in Winston-Salem and was on her lunch break when she bought the winning ticket from the store, officials said. Because Powell spent $5 on her ticket, she won half of the jackpot prize. That means her ticket was worth $155,241, McClatchy News reported. 'I just kept looking at it,' the prize winner said in the release. 'It was like it wasn't registering.' Powell is from Danville, Virginia, just across the border from North Carolina. She kept $111,387 after taxes.
