JoJo Siwa ‘Never Imagined' Being This Close to BF Chris Hughes: ‘It's Really Hard Because People Tear It Apart'

JoJo Siwa has been on a real rollercoaster ride over the past month. The reality dance star turned pop singer went from having her honor defended by housemate Chris Hughes on Celebrity Big Brother UK after homophobic comments from actor Mickey Rourke to breaking up with then-partner Kath Ebbs at the show's wrap party and then partnering up with Hughes. Now, reunited with Billboard's Tetris Kelly — he of the infamous 'Gay Pop' interview — Siwa says '30 days ago I would have never even imagined I'd be friends with Chris Hughes,' calling their now-official relationship 'the weirdest' idea. But, the heart wants what it wants, and, as of this week, the couple are Instagram official and appear to be inseparable. That said, Kelly wondered how it's felt for Siwa to be figuring out her sexuality in front of the whole world. 'It's really hard because people tear it apart,' she says of her full embrace of queer life. 'I understand if you have no context why people tear things apart… there's people going through this same thing that I'm going through. There's somebody who's identified as one sexuality and then maybe had this realization within themselves but they don't now feel they can't change or grow.' Siwa says she felt like she was being placed in a box she wasn't meant to be in when she came out. 'I've dated beautiful women, I've date beautiful non-binary people, I have dated men… but I realize that's just who I am. I realize for myself that I just like humans.' Siwa also touches on her excitement in the run-up to her 22-date An Unforgettable Night Out summer tour, which kicks off on July 10 in Houston, TX. 'I'm an adult now, which is crazy,' says Siwa, 22, about her first outing in three years and first one as a legal grown up. 'There's elements in this show that make it a lot different than just a typical concert,' she explains about the show that will mix her songs with bits about her time on Dance Moms, funny sketches and JoJo the Bilbo references. She made a point of addressing that flap over the $900 'Dream Guest VIP' ticket offer, in which she told fans they would get to help her 'build the set' for the show. 'People did take that as actual building the set,' she says, making a wrenching motion. If you want to carry props out on stage, JoJo says that's fine, but that's not what she intended. 'The point was people are going to get to have their say in what we actually do that night,' she clarifies about allowing four die hards at each stop help put together that night's set list. In a vulnerable moment, Siwa talked about the trepidation she felt before releasing her March single 'Bulletproof,' in which she publicly embraced her queerness. 'Music is probably the thing I'm most insecure about,' she says. 'I think a lot of people have a lot of things to say and I think I've also done some things that have fueled that fire… it's vulnerable. And now it has put me in a place where I don't like to say I'm a singer.' She recalls opening up about that fear on Big Brother, where she proclaimed that she 'can't sing, but I can release a song. And I can make a point' while casually teasing that she's working on her first-ever full length album with her favorite production team, Rock Mafia. She admits that she's dying to be on the hit Peacock competition show The Traitors, while simultaneously pitching her own reality show starring all her best pals from previous gigs on Dancing With the Stars, Special Forces and Big Brother. Watch JoJo talk about 'Bulletproof,' 'Fighter,' balancing stage JoJo vs. real life JoJo and her tangled love life in the video above. Saskatchewan court orders SaskTel to relinquish info related to 'victimsvoicesregina' Instagram account

A court has ordered SaskTel to hand over information that a man was seeking in an effort to identify people he says are responsible for defaming him on a former Instagram account known as 'victimsvoicesregina.' The bottom-line decision from the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal was made on May 8, but the court's published reasons for that ruling were recently made available online. The decision is from a panel comprising Justice Georgina Jackson, Justice Meghan McCreary and Justice Keith Kilback. It lays out how Ryan Boldt filed a lawsuit in 2021 against Meta Platforms, Inc., as well as three unknown individuals listed within the court documents as Jane Doe, Betty Doe and Sally Doe (the Does). Meta owns and operates social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The appeal decision indicates that Boldt alleges 'the defendant, Betty Doe, created a false and defamatory story that she was sexually harassed by Mr. Boldt in the course of her employment.' He further asserts, according to the decision, that this story was then given to Jane and Sally, who were the administrators of the victimsvoicesregina account, on which it was published 'without taking any steps to verify the accuracy of the Post or the associated comments made by others on the page.' In 2020, the victimsvoicesregina Instagram account posted many stories of alleged sexual assault and harassment that were said to have taken place within the city. 'Mr. Boldt claims that he suffered damages because of the defamatory Post, which he quantifies at $1,000,000,' the decision states, noting he also seeks punitive and aggravated damages. However, it goes on to say that Boldt doesn't know the true identities of the Does. For the lawsuit to proceed against them, they have to be formally notified of it, which would require Boldt to determine who they are. For that purpose, he's gone through the courts in an effort to gain information from SaskTel, Telus Communications Inc., and Access Communications Co-operative Limited. The decision notes a 'cyber security investigator' was hired on Boldt's behalf. The investigator wrote an affidavit stating that, through information provided by Facebook Inc., he learned that the Does accessed the victimsvoicesregina Instagram account through those internet service providers. Stories of the Year: Survivors' Stories shed light on Regina's problem with sexual violence Boldt sought a court order directing the companies to provide 'Identifying Documents' relating to specific activity from certain IP addresses (numeric addresses assigned to devices connected to the Internet). He was looking for documents containing: 'account holder name(s); account holder address(es); account holder billing information; account holder email addresses; physical addresses related to IP addresses; and any other identifying information.' The appeal decision states that while Telus and Access took 'no position' with respect to Boldt's application for such an order, SaskTel opposed it, arguing among other things that the documents were subject to solicitor-client privilege. Boldt narrowed his application to seek only those documents contained within a SaskTel legal file relating to another case. The decision notes this was presumably done because SaskTel stated it didn't 'possess, have custody of, or control of' any such documents other than those which might be on that file. A lower court judge had previously dismissed Boldt's application, finding that the documents were subject to solicitor-client privilege, but Telus and Access were ordered to disclose their documents. On appeal, the three judges of Saskatchewan's highest court decided the lower court judge's decision with regard to SaskTel contained multiple legal errors. SaskTel did not tender evidence to establish the documents would be covered by privilege, and the onus was on the telecommunications company to do so, according to the appeal decision. Further, even if the information was privileged, that would not have legally precluded its disclosure, so long as certain conditions could be met, the appeal decision states. The appeal judges ordered SaskTel to give Boldt the documents. However, the decision goes on to specify that the documents 'shall be held by him and his solicitors in the strictest confidence and shall be used by them only for this specific litigation in which they were obtained.' The Regina Leader-Post reached out to Boldt through his lawyer, Madlin Lucyk. She advised that Boldt was not interested in providing any comment. bharder@ The Regina Leader-Post has created an Afternoon Headlines newsletter that can be delivered daily to your inbox so you are up to date with the most vital news of the day. Highly-rated Oregon OL target announces commitment days before visit to Ducks

Highly-rated Oregon OL target announces commitment days before visit to Ducks The Oregon Ducks are preparing for the start of an incredibly busy recruiting month this weekend, with a ton of high-profile official visits on tap over the next several weeks. Unfortunately for Dan Lanning and Co., one of the top visits that they had scheduled is now in doubt. On Tuesday morning, it was announced that 4-star IOL Tommy Tofi, the No. 97 player in the class and No. 6 IOL, would be committing to the California Golden Bears. Tofi, who stands at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, was scheduled to take his official visit to Oregon this weekend, but that trip is now in question coming off of his commitment to Justin Wilcox and the Golden Bears. Tofi is a San Francisco kid who has been near the top of Oregon's recruiting board for a long time and a big target in the offensive line room. He is coming off of an official visit to California last weekend, so the timing is understandable for him to make his commitment from that perspective, but he did have OVs scheduled to Oregon this weekend, followed by trips to Tennessee and BYU. While he is verbally committed at the moment, it would come as no surprise to see A'lique Terry and his team continue to push in his recruitment and try to flip him to the Ducks before signing day takes place in December. This will be one to keep an eye on. Contact/Follow @Ducks_Wire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Oregon Ducks news, notes, and opinions.
