Jennifer Aniston cast in series ‘I'm glad my mom died,' adapted from Jennette McCurdy's memoir
The dramedy will center on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid's show and her narcissistic mother, who relishes in her identity as 'a starlet's mother.''
McCurdy earlier appeared in a number of other TV series and movies in addition to starring in Nickelodeon shows like "iCarly." "I'm Glad My Mom Died," which she published with Simon & Schuster in 2022, hit the top of the New York Times bestseller list and stayed there for more than a year.
The series will be written and showrun by McCurdy and Ari Katcher ('Ramy,' 'Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show'). Through Echo Films, Aniston will both star and executive produce. Along with Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara for LuckyChap, Jerrod Carmichael and Erica Kay,
Sharon Horgan
, and Stacy Greenberg serve as executive producers for Merman. Production will be done by Apple Studios.
Given that Aniston right now stars in and executive produces Apple TV+'s popular drama "The Morning Show," which is launching its fourth season in September, the role strengthens her relationship with the streaming service.

Denzel Washington, A$AP Rocky's 'Highest 2 Lowest' trailer released, film to hit theatres on this day
Denzel Washington, A$AP Rocky's 'Highest 2 Lowest' trailer released, film to hit theatres on this day The makers of Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky's highly anticipated movie 'Highest 2 Lowest' have finally shared the trailer of the film on Sunday. Apple and A24 unveiled the official trailer for 'Highest 2 Lowest', their Kurosawa-inspired crime thriller, which reunites director Spike Lee and actor Denzel Washington for the first time since 'Inside Man' in 2006. As per Deadline, the story is a modern reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa 's 1963 classic 'High and Low', which was itself based on the novel King's Ransom by Ed McBain. While the original thriller follows a shoe company exec who becomes a victim of extortion when his chauffeur's son is kidnapped by mistake and held for ransom, the new film, set in contemporary NYC, sees a music mogul played by Washington contend with a similar plot, as per the trailer. Also starring A$AP Rocky, as well as Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, Dean Winters, John Douglas Thompson, and Ice Spice, Highest 2 Lowest debuted out of competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. It was the sixth time Lee debuted a film in the Cannes Official Selection, and marked 36 years to the day since his first appearance with 'Do the Right Thing', reported Deadline. Take a look at the trailer here. Highest 2 Lowest | Official Trailer HD | A24 Developed and produced by Apple, A24, Escape Artists and Mandalay Pictures, the film is written by Alan Fox and Lee. The film will hit theatres on August 15 before arriving on Apple TV+ on September 5.

Silo Season 3: Cast, plot, new faces, and everything to know about Apple TV+'s dystopian epic
Apple TV+ has officially renewed its hit sci-fi series 'Silo' for a third season, continuing the story based on Hugh Howey's dystopian trilogy 'Wool, Shift, and Dust'. The critically acclaimed series explores the lives of 10,000 survivors living deep underground in a silo, cut off from a toxic world above and governed by strict rules and deadly secrets. At the centre of the mystery is Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson), an engineer determined to uncover the truth behind a murder and the origins of their confined society. Season 3 will go back in time, drawing from Howey's second novel, Shift, to explore the events that led to the construction of the silo system. 'We get into the origin story [of the Pez dispenser], but we're also deep into our silo world,' showrunner Graham Yost told TIME in January 2025. 'There'll also be more to learn about the dirty bomb." Yost added in a December 2024 press release, 'It has been a richly rewarding experience to adapt Hugh's epic novels with our partners at Apple, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons.' While no official release date has been announced, Apple confirmed on X that filming for season 3 wrapped in May 2025. Seasons 3 and 4 are being filmed back-to-back. Most of the main cast is expected to return, including Rebecca Ferguson, Steve Zahn, Common, Harriet Walter, Clare Perkins, and others. Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zukerman, who appeared in the season 2 finale, will join as regulars. Tim Robbins and Iain Glen may not return. Season 3 will offer a rare glimpse of the outside world, bringing light—literally and figuratively—into the dark, claustrophobic narrative. You can stream Silo exclusively on Apple TV+.
