Nissan Navara Stealth makes a comeback - can it steal the thunder from Isuzu's X-Rider?
But where does it fit in? Priced at R695,200 in 4x2 form and R779,200 in 4x4 guise, it slots between the mid-spec Navara LE and the range-topping Pro2X and Pro4X models. Packed with sporty trimmings, it commands a premium of R35,000 over the LE, but in 4x2 guise it costs a cool R88,000 less than the Pro2X.
It costs just R22,000 more than Isuzu's 1.9-litre (110kW) D-Max X-Rider models, and on the surface appears to offer a similar formula. However, the Nissan offers more power, with the 140kW and 450Nm 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine being standard in the Stealth, paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
But enough nuts and bolts, let's take a look at what seats the new Navara Stealth apart. Essentially it swaps the LE model's chrome trim for matte and gloss black accents.

Formula E and FIA agree to contract extension to at least 2048
Formula E will remain until at least 2048 the only all-electric single-seater series sanctioned by motorsport's world governing body after announcing a contract extension with the FIA on Friday. The Liberty Global-controlled series said the 10-year extension, with sources indicating an option for a further five years, provided a solid platform for long-term growth and investment opportunities. Formula E expects its cars to be on the same level as, or exceeding the performance of, other top tier series including Formula One by the middle of the century. The current Gen3 Evo car can already accelerate from 0-100km/h in 1.82 seconds, 30% faster than a Formula One car with a top speed of 321km/h. 'We've believed in Formula E since day one, and this extension reaffirms our confidence in where it's headed,' said Liberty Global CEO Mike Fries. 'With the FIA's continued backing, we can now take the next big steps — scaling the sport, growing its global fan base, and continuing to push the boundaries of what electric racing can achieve.' Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds said the series had shown extraordinary growth in 11 seasons so far. 'With this long-term extension, the opportunity that Formula E now has to impact world motorsport will be truly transformational,' he said. The current Formula E season closes in London with two races in London this weekend. The drivers' title has been won already by Nissan's Oliver Rowland.

Nissan Magnite earns five-star Global NCAP safety rating
The updated Nissan Magnite has become the first vehicle in South Africa to earn a five-star Global NCAP safety rating under the programme's latest testing protocols. This represents a significant improvement from its earlier two-star rating. Built in India, the Magnite was originally rated just two stars for both adult and child occupant protection, with only two airbags offered as standard. Since then, Nissan has introduced a series of safety enhancements to the model, including six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), improved seat belt systems, pedestrian protection and three-point seat belts for all passengers. After the upgrades, the vehicle was submitted for voluntary retesting and initially achieved a four-star rating. Nissan continued to refine the car and submitted it again for a second round of testing. This latest version secured five stars for adult occupant protection and three stars for child occupants. The tests were conducted under Global NCAP's latest protocols, which include assessments of frontal and side impacts, ESC performance, pedestrian protection and side pole impact protection — all essential for the highest scores. 'Nissan's leap from a two to five-star safety rating for the Magnite is more than just an achievement — it's a vital step towards safer cars and roads for everyone,' said Bobby Ramagwede, CEO of the Automobile Association of South Africa. 'This sends a strong message to the entire industry: investing in vehicle safety isn't just good practice, it saves lives. The AA will continue to advocate for safer vehicles and empower consumers with trusted, transparent safety information.' He added: 'The association is very happy that Nissan South Africa's best-selling passenger vehicle has attained the much sought after Global NCAP five-star rating and that Nissan has taken the safety of their South African customers to heart with the facelifted Magnite.'
