A Brazilian book influencer was brutally stabbed to death in a food hall by a crazed cleaner who knifed her more than 20 times after she rejected him.
Tais Bruna de Castro, 36, was eating her lunch in Beco Fino shopping centre in the neighbourhood of Jundiai, Sao Paolo, on Monday June 2, when a man approached her and launched his deadly attack on her.
After stabbing Tais over 20 times, the knifeman, named as 40-year-old Claudio Elizeu, broke into an office and smashed windows and furniture, before police arrested him.
Claudio, who worked as a cleaner in the shopping mall, told cops that he killed Tais because she was disinterest in a romantic relationship with him.
They did not have a close friendship prior to the brutal killing, it is understood.
Police continue to investigate influencer Marquez's murder under the country's femicide protocol, with her senseless killing being just another example of the high levels of gender-based violence in Latin America.
Tais, who ran a reading blog called 'Reader Fashion', also worked as a travel agent in the shopping centre where she was tragically killed.
The social media star's family said in a statement on her Instagram account, which boasts 8,311 followers: 'This week, our dear Tais Bruna, the owner of this profile, left us in a very sad and unbelievable way.
'Reader Fashion was one of her joys. Talking about literature, recommending new works and chatting with you made her day happier.
'We, her family, sincerely thank you for all the messages and prayers dedicated to her.
'Tais, we will love you forever.'
Her callous killing is the latest in a spate of violence that has claimed the lives of Latin American influencers.
Last month, a Colombian model and influencer was brutally shot dead by a hitman posing as a delivery driver.
María José Estupiñán, 22, was shot at point-blank range as she stepped outside her home in Colombia's northeastern city of Cucuta on Thursday.
Chilling CCTV footage captured from outside her home shows the moment that Estupiñán was struck, as gunshots can be heard ringing out in the background.
The gunman can then be seen sprinting down the street, as the victim's mother screams in horror and desperately cries out: 'No, not my daughter!'.
Also last month, a Mexican influencer was brutally murdered yesterday while live streaming to her followers after a motorbike-riding gunman opened fire on her salon.
Footage showed the horrific moment 23-year-old TikToker and aesthetician Valeria Marquez was shot multiple times while broadcasting live from inside her beauty salon, Blossom the Beauty Lounge, in the western Mexican state of Jalisco.
The video shows a smiling Valeria looking out of the window momentarily before bullets strike her once in the chest and twice in the head.

Incredible scenes as Brazilian youth match descends into mass brawl with Military Police called to the scene after linesman lashes out at teenage player

A huge brawl broke out in a Brazilian youth match on Sunday, after seemingly - and bizarrely - being instigated by a slap from an official. The game saw Sao Paulo FC social club take on hosts Clube Banespa in an Under-17s clash, and was seemingly uneventful until descending into chaos after a goal was ruled out during injury time. One youngster appeared to be exchanging stern words with the linesman, before bring his forehead into that of the official, with the entire altercation caught on camera and quickly going viral on social media. The official then reacts furiously, appearing to lash out and strike the player in the face, with the whole exchange caught on camera from the sidelines. That one slap then sets off an almighty melee, with the player's team-mates all turning on the linesman and the refereeing team and within a matter of seconds, one youngster can be seen charging in to plant a flying kick on the official. The linesman is then quickly surrounded and forced to back up against a fence in horrific scenes, as the players continue to mob him and his refereeing colleagues, who are similarly set upon. Los demás árbitros del partido también fueron sancionados. — TERADEPORTES (@Teradeportes) June 10, 2025 About 10 seconds into the fight however, the linesman can be seen seemingly landing a clean blow to the face of one of the teenagers, knocking him to the ground, where the official continues to punch him. The youngster's team-mates then turn on him to defend their colleague, and he is dragged away while still hitting the teenager. At this point, the Banespa Clube squad sprint over from the other side of the pitch, with one aiming a half-hearted kick at a Sao Paulo FC social club player, before they retreat and the fight continues. The melee then thins out, with only one official still appearing to be the target of the youth team's fury, and one player looks to be trying to bring some calm to the situation, even shoving his team-mates away pretty forcefully. One adult on the sidelines then attempts to kick the referee through a fence, though seems to have done little to no damage. The footage of the incredible fight then cuts, with the whole clash lasting around 30 seconds. Such was the apparent scale of the violence that the Military Police were called to the scene by witnesses, according to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, with all individuals involved taken to the police station. The outlet claims that the incident was reported for investigation in contravention of the Brazilian Penal Code articles 129 (bodily harm) and 147 (threats). The Sao Paulo Interclub Youth Football Association - responsible for the organisation of the social club championship in the Brazilian city - condemned the incident, promising a 'rigorous investigation' which could result in legal sanctions. It added that the three referees, who were operating as part of a third-party company, had been banned from the competition. 'Sports must be a safe and educational environment for everyone,' the body stated. 'Aggressive or discriminatory attitudes on the part of athletes, family members, fans, coaching staff or managers will be rigorously investigated, with administrative, disciplinary and legal penalties being applied, as provided for in the regulations. 'All infractions committed during the competitions will be rigorously investigated, and those responsible will be subject to disciplinary, administrative and legal sanctions, in accordance with the regulations,' he added. Sao Paulo FC social club are not officially affiliated to the senior side of the same name, the Brazilian giants later added in a statement of their own, with the amateur side formed by members of the club.

Harrowing moment plane comes terrifyingly close to helicopter as it takes off at airport

BONECHILLING video has captured the moment an airplane appeared to barely miss a hovering helicopter while taking off from the runway. The plane appeared to swerve quickly and desperately avoid a mid-air tragedy. 6 6 6 Surveillance footage showed the Phenom 300 executive jet taking off from the runway as the chopper flew overhead. They seemed to almost collide mid-air in terrifying scenes filmed at the Costa Esmeralda Airport in Porto Belo, south of São Paulo, Brazil, on Sunday. The small airfield does not have a control tower. After the footage was shared online, one local posted on X, 'Looks like a go-around by the aircraft on approach to accommodate the takeoff of the departing aircraft. 'Sequence spacing didn't quite work out.' Another person said, 'Didn't they coordinate between aircraft? 'Someone screwed up.' But another video, taken from a different angle, appeared to show that there was a much greater distance between the two aircraft. The clip, filmed by Henrique Garcia, showed that the helicopter was further ahead of the jet than first thought. Airfield administrator Tiago Neves said the two pilots were in contact throughout the takeoff, as reported by What's The Jam. Six dead in San Diego plane crash as Cessna slams into ocean after pilot made haunting final call to air traffic control He told local media, 'The occurrence is absolutely normal, the two aircraft were being coordinated, and the two pilots had communication with each other. 'The video that was released creates sensationalism as the angle makes it seem like the aircraft are very close, which does not correspond to reality.' Neves pointed out that the airfield does not have a control tower, and pilots carry out procedures via communication and visual contact. He said the helicopter's approach occurred outside the runway so as not to interrupt the jet's takeoff. He added, 'It is common for the tower, when there is one, or the pilots themselves, when at uncontrolled airfields, to coordinate the approach. 'That's why the helicopter goes directly to the grassy area. 'Everything was done responsibly and within normal limits.' The video surfaced just months after a Black Hawk crashed into a plane as it was landing in Washington DC. The horrific accident left all 67 people on board the two aircraft dead. And another helicopter wrecked in New York City in April, killing all six people on board. 6 6 6
