The Superman scene that India wouldn't allow
Indian cinemagoers noticed a jarring skip in the film, leading to widespread condemnation on social media regarding the board's decision.
Critics argue that the CBFC's censorship is inconsistent and hypocritical, often approving films that glorify violence or promote regressive gender roles while censoring minor or consensual scenes.
The board justifies its decisions under Article 19(2) of the Indian constitution, which allows "reasonable restrictions" on free speech, but critics claim interpretations are subjective and politically influenced.
The dismantling of the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal in 2021 has worsened the situation, making it harder for filmmakers to appeal the CBFC's increasingly frequent and questionable censorship decisions.

'I dislike red jerseys, so blue felt perfect'
We know the relationship between a football fan and their club is a special one so, as we gear up for the new season, we asked you to share why you fell in love with Chelsea and some of your favourite moments supporting are some of your submissions: Rajeev: Being Indian, I've always loved packed stadiums - whether it is cricket, rugby or football. I only watched the World Cups and the Euros until 2006. Then, thanks to my Arsenal fan friend and my Manchester United-supporting brother, I got hooked on the Premier League. That season the top four were Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and stood out - they were second place and I've always liked teams chasing the top spot. I also dislike red jerseys, so blue felt perfect. I was amazed to see so many national captains at Chelsea. That's when I knew this was my club. Send your pictures and stories here

‘Refreshingly optimistic' superhero series fans say is 'so much fun' now streaming for free
This charming comic book series is now on ITVX and is the perfect follow-up for fans of the new Superman movie ITVX is currently streaming all six seasons of a popular superhero drama that took the comic book fandom by storm over the past 10 years. Following the adventures of one of the most beloved heroes from the pages of DC Comics, it's a must-watch for any fans of the latest big screen Superman movie which is still wowing audiences. It originally aired on the CW from 2015-2021 and developed a passionate worldwide following. Every single episode of Supergirl is now available to watch completely free of charge after recently being added to ITVX. Starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, aka Kara Danvers, the young hero and cousin of Superman vows to become her city's protector while juggling personal revelations and a series of threats to Earth's safety. A spin-off from the CW's Arrowverse series based on DC heroes, Supergirl is considered by many to be the best of the bunch as it adapted several fan-favourite stories and characters from the Superman mythos while breathing new life into the iconic tales. Rotten Tomatoes critic Sean Axmaker wrote of the show: 'It's a well-made series with a likable hero, a solid supporting cast, and a sense of optimism that is refreshing next to such dark shows as Gotham.' Steve Wright of SciFiNow agreed with the assessment: 'All in all, it's a solid first outing for Supergirl, and with the series' future now in the hands of The CW, the future looks suitably optimistic.' Eclipse Magazine went a step further, writing: 'I need a show in my life that's about hope. 'Supergirl provides just enough sugar in an otherwise bleak diet. People used to dark and grim, need not bother, it's not for you. The rest of us will enjoy it for the pure, blissful fun that it is.' There are also plenty of five-star Google reviews from fans, including from this one who raved: 'Constantly amazed by the wide-eyed and hopeful Kara Zor-El who continues to grow as Kara Danvers, rather than letting her Supergirl persona take over. 'Benoist and her supporting cast constantly put on spectacular performances that are sure to touch your hearts. 'Superman aside, make way for Supergirl, the hero that everybody needs and deserves.' And a final fan claimed: 'This has become my favourite show ever, I have watched it 6 times and it still hasn't got old for me.' With House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock stepping into Supergirl's red boots for the foreseeable future, comic book fans now have the perfect opportunity to brush up on the hero's earlier adventures. Supergirl is available to stream on ITVX.

Paddington star reveals why she didn't return for sequel
Sally Hawkins, who portrayed Mrs Brown in the initial two Paddington films, opted not to return for the third instalment, Paddington in Peru. Her decision was primarily due to the absence of director Paul King, stating it would have 'broken her heart' to continue without his involvement. Hawkins subsequently joined King on the film Wonka, where she played the mother of Timothée Chalamet's character. Emily Mortimer took over the role of Mrs Brown in Paddington in Peru, which was released in November 2024. Critics received Paddington in Peru less positively than its predecessors, with some suggesting the perceived lack of Paul King's unique touch impacted the film's quality.
