Baton Rouge man accused of making, selling machine gun conversion devices arrested
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man accused of manufacturing and distributing machine gun conversion devices (MCDs) within the city has been arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
BRPD Special Investigations and the ATF Field Office in Baton Rouge began looking into a suspect identified as Dakell Odds after receiving tips about his alleged involvement.
BRPD detectives obtained a search warrant for two Baton Rouge addresses.

A 3D printer, utilized for the production of backplates for MCDs.
Cut quarters serve as the structural components of MCDs.
Tools employed for cutting and modifying quarters.
Ammunition.

One 3D printer.
One M11 COBRAY firearm, Serial Number 94-0032133
One Marlin .22 rifle.
Eight dosage units of MDMA.
18 Suboxone strips.
10 dosage units of tramadol.
Seven dosage units of Xanax.
Odds was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with:
Possession of a machine gun (16 counts).
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Unlawful promotion of criminal activity for purposes of notoriety and publicity.
Police said Odds has a criminal history that includes:
Smuggling of persons.
Possession of a machine gun.
Possession of a stolen vehicle.
Possession of marijuana.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Another suspect, Sommer Reed, was also booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with 16 counts of possession of a machine gun.

Hillsborough County deputies make arrests in shooting that injured teen
The Brief Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office have made arrests in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. Detectives said they found evidence connected to the shooting inside a bedroom belonging to a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. A 38-year-old man was also arrested for driving with a suspended license when deputies said they found him driving the vehicle linked to the suspected shooter. PROGRESS VILLAGE, Fla. - Two teenage felons have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. The backstory According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, deputies went to the area of South 81st Street and Fir Drive shortly before 12:40 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. When they pulled the vehicle over, deputies said the driver, Antonio House, 38, was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license. Dig deeper A search warrant was executed where House was staying and that's where deputies said they recovered multiple guns. According to HCSO, a Glock .40 caliber handgun recovered from inside the home was ballistically matched to the casings recovered at the scene of the shooting. The HCSO Firearms Laboratory conducted the analysis and confirmed the connection between the gun and the crime scene. Both were taken into custody. The 17-year-old has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and resisting an officer without violence. House was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery great bodily harm or deadly weapon firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and resisting an officer without violence. What they're saying "We will not allow our neighborhoods to become places of violence," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This kind of behavior has no place in our community. We remain committed to protecting our residents and ensuring that violent offenders are held fully accountable." California gun control bill that could ban popular Glock pistol sales moves forward
( — A bill that could ban the sale of the most popular handgun in the U.S. is potentially on its way to becoming law after it passed through the California State Assembly on Tuesday. Assembly Bill 1127, also referred to by many people as the Glock Ban Bill, was authored by Jesse Gabriel (D-Encino) and would prohibit licensed firearms dealers from selling guns that can be 'easily converted by hand or with common household tools' into a machine gun. Although the Glock isn't specifically mentioned in the written legislation, it falls into that category of firearms. New gun laws won't be enforced by Sutter County Sheriff's Office 'I am pleased to be presenting AB 1127, which will protect communities from mass shootings and gun violence by encouraging gun manufacturers to prevent the conversion of their firearms to dangerous automatic weapons,' Gabriel said during an Assembly Standing Committee hearing. He continued, 'Automatic weapons are exceptionally lethal and capable of firing hundreds of rounds per minute. They are illegal in California. Unfortunately, some semi-automatic firearms feature a dangerous design flaw that allows them to be converted to fully automatic weapons through an attachment of a cheap and easy-to-use device, known as a switch.' 'AB 1127 is a blatant attack on your right to own one of the most common self-defense firearms in America,' Gun Owners of California said on social media before the bill passed through the Assembly. Jamarion Hardiman and a 19-year-old co-conspirator allegedly hid two loaded firearms with 80 rounds of ammunition under vehicles at the venue. The plot was uncovered after a fight at the ceremony and a tip about a Snapchat threat, though a motive is not yet known. PONTIAC, Mich. (FOX 2) - Just a few hours after announcing a suspect was wanted for planning a mass shooting at a Pontiac high school, the sheriff announced their suspect was taken into custody. Jamarion Jaryante Hardiman was arrested on Friday, within hours of being identified as a suspect wanted for planning a mass shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in Pontiac. Sheriff Michael Bouchard had announced the charges during a noon press conference. By 4 p.m., the sheriff said Hardiman was in custody. What we know The two suspects were arrested after authorities said they planted weapons under vehicles at the graduation ceremony for a Pontiac school at United Wholesale Mortgage's sports complex. A 19-year-old has also been arrested, but has not been arraigned yet. Both men allegedly placed packages under vehicles at the venue, which were later discovered to obtain two firearms containing 80 rounds of ammunition between them. Neither suspect is enrolled at the school, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Friday. Sheriff deputies were first dispatched to the venue after a fight broke out between individuals at the ceremony. Working with security at the venue, a preliminary investigation by police uncovered a larger plot. An individual approached police about information from a family member that a Snapchat message previously seen included a threat to shoot up the ceremony. "In our business, we call that a clue," Bouchard said. The details were relayed to police who later found packages underneath vehicles, each containing loaded weapons. One was an AR-style pistol with a round drum that included 40 rounds of ammunition. The second weapon was a semi-automatic Glock handgun with a stick magazine, also containing 40 rounds of ammunition. Both were unregistered.
