St Pauli coach Alexander Blessin is reportedly a candidate to take over at Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg, where Ralph Hasenhüttl's future beyond the season is unclear.
Daily Hamburger Abendblatt said on Tuesday that Wolfsburg are looking "very closely" at Blessin, and the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung also reported the interest.

Wolfsburg have lost their last four matches and slipped to 12th in the standings, instead of playing for a place in Europe as desired. Austrian Hasenhüttl has a contract until 2026 at the club.
Blessin took over promoted St Pauli in summer and, being seven points above the danger zone with five games left, they stand a good chance of staying in the top flight.
There were also recent reports linking Blessin with RB Leipzig, where he worked as an academy coach in the past. But the Hamburger Abendblatt report said he was "not a seriously discussed name" there.

Real Madrid dealt blow as long-term target informs Xabi Alonso he will not move to Spain

Real Madrid dealt blow as long-term target informs Xabi Alonso he will not move to Spain Florian Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have admired for quite some time now and have held an interest in signing the Bayer Leverkusen sensation. With current Leverkusen boss, Xabi Alonso, set to take over the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu soon, the interest had seemingly gotten stronger as the Basque coach was keen on bringing the 22-year-old along with him to Madrid. Advertisement However, Wirtz has also been attracting serious interest from other top clubs, including Manchester City. And the Bundesliga gem seems to have made his decision already which will come as a blow for Los Blancos. Florian Wirtz wants Bayern Munich, informs Alonso Indeed, according to BILD, Wirtz has informed Xabi Alonso that he has ruled out moves to Real Madrid and Manchester City – his only destination of interest is Bayern Munich. Wirtz unlikely to follow Alonso to Real Madrid. (Photo by) This development strongly suggests that the Wirtz family, led by the player's father and advisor Hans Wirtz – who has a close relationship with Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness – has reached a basic agreement with the Bundesliga giants. Advertisement The timing of the move remains uncertain, as Wirtz is still under contract at Leverkusen until 2027. One of the most exciting young talents in Europe, Wirtz could have been an excellent addition at Real Madrid, who could be looking at some major tweaks in the summer after a season that has not met expectations. However, it appears that the 22-year-old and his camp have their hearts set on a move to Bayern Munich, thus ruling out the possibility of a reunion with Alonso, who is understood to be the leading candidate to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Liverpool announce Jeremie Frimpong as Alexander-Arnold replacement

Liverpool have wasted no time in replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold by announcing the signing of Jeremie Frimpong. Frimpong leaves Bayer Leverkusen after four years having been a key part of their title-winning side in 2023/24. The Netherlands international played over 100 times in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen and also won the DFB-Pokal during their historic double. Advertisement Frimpong returns to English football having come through the ranks at Manchester City and pens a five-year deal at Anfield. Speaking to for the first time, Frimpong said: 'It went quite easy. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer. 'For me, it was like, 'Whatever you guys do, just get this done', [speaking to] my agents: 'Just get this done.' 'Liverpool fans, I'm going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together. 'I'm just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me and I won't let you guys down and I'll give you the energy that you guys want.' Liverpool to rival Manchester City in race for Florian Wirtz

Liverpool to rival Manchester City in race for Florian Wirtz Liverpool will rival Manchester City in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz, according to the Daily Mail. The Reds are planning to make a marquee addition to Arne Slot's squad in the summer, and Wirtz fits that description. Advertisement However, it remains to be seen whether they'd pony up to Leverkusen's demands. Wirtz's contract at the BayArena runs until 2027, but there's a general feeling that he could leave the club in the summer. The German international is valued at €140 million (£116m) on Transfermarkt, and Liverpool could baulk at their lofty demands. The 21-year-old has been in sensational form for Leverkusen this season, notching 15 goals and 13 assists in 36 games across all competitions. His remarkable form has spurred interest from clubs across Europe, with Liverpool and Man City also set to go head-to-head with European champions Real Madrid. Advertisement Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Wirtz and could join the bidding party in the summer. Leverkusen's interest in Man City forward James McAtee could tilt the odds in favour of the Premier League champions. The Bundesliga title holders are keen to sign the 22-year-old and made their move during the January transfer window but were rebuffed by Man City. Guardiola is a huge fan of McAtee, and the English talent came on as a substitute in Sunday's 2-0 defeat against Liverpool. Despite struggling for playing time, the England youth international is keen to nail down a regular starting birth in Guardiola's first team, but there's plenty of competition in Man City's attacking midfield. He could force his way into the picture if Man City lose one of Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, or Bernardo Silva this summer.
