Pattth OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Jithin Issac Thomas' critically-acclaimed Malayalam film online
Pattth OTT Release Date: One of the most talked-about Malayalam films of the year is finally getting its digital release. Following its success at the 29th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in 2024,
Pattth is set to stream exclusively on Manorama Max starting June 6. For those who missed watching it in festivals or theatres, this is your chance to catch a truly original story from Malayalam cinema.
What's Pattth about?
At the centre of Pattth is Unni, a struggling video editor who's just trying to make ends meet by editing a travel vlog. While working on one particular vlog, he comes across a song sung by a Kenyan tribe. Sounds pretty random, right? But that's when something strange happens: his grandmother hears the song and starts singing along. She says she knows it, even though it's supposed to be from a faraway African tribe.
Unni, surprised and curious, shares the video of his grandma singing the song on social media along with his girlfriend Anupama. People start commenting on the video, saying they've heard the same song too. It turns into a mystery. Where did this song really come from? How does his grandma know it? And how do others in Kerala seem to know it too?
That's when Unni and Anupama decide to dig deeper. They start travelling across Kerala, meeting people who claim to have heard or sung the song before. What starts as a small curiosity turns into a bigger journey about history, culture, and the strange ways music connects people across continents.
Meet the team behind Pattth
The film is directed by Jithin Issac Thomas, who has already made a name for himself with movies like Attention Please and his segment in Freedom Fight. His last film, Rekha, got a lot of attention for its storytelling and bold subject. Jithin writes the screenplay along with Ananthan Raju. Pattth is produced by Able Joseph, Nithyan Martin, and the team at Mangoes N Coconuts.
Subhash Kumaraswamy handles the cinematography and captures Kerala's vibe perfectly. The editing by Anandhu Shejith keeps the story tight and moving, while Milan V S has done a great job with the music. Sound design is done by Ajayan Adat, Tinu Samuel, Vipin George, and Piousmon Sunny. Other crew members include Unni Lalu for costumes, Prathapan K S for casting, Deepak Sivan for VFX, and Aneesh Ravi, who worked on colour grading (DI).
Meet the cast of Pattth
You won't find big stars here, and that's part of the charm. Pattth features Ashik Safiya Aboobakker as Unni and Gauthami Lekshmi Gopan as Anupama. They're not household names, but their performances are natural and honest, which makes the film feel more real. There's also a long list of supporting actors, including M Kethi, Cheriyakaalan, Jasmine Kavya, Divakaran Vishnumangalam, Rajan C R, Jitheesh Raichel Samuel, Surya S Kurup, and many others.
