Unni Mukundan and Joshiy join forces for an actioner
This is Unni's first outing with Joshiy, who is known for helming several celebrated mass entertainers over the years. According to the makers, the upcoming film will feature Unni in a "never-before-seen avatar". It is scripted by Abhilash N Chandran, who wrote Joshiy's Porinju Mariam Jose and his son Abhilash Joshiy's King of Kotha. While Joshiy last made Antony with Joju George, Unni's last release was Get-Set Baby, in which he played a male gynaecologist. Although the actor had announced a sequel to Marco, he recently opted out of the project, citing 'negativity around it'.

Police say there's no evidence Unni Mukundan assaulted former PR manager Vipin Kumar; submit chargesheet in court
In May this year, things got heated between Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan and his former PR manager, Vipin Kumar. Vipin had accused Unni of assault and had filed a case against him after an argument near his home. According to a report by OnManorama, the police have now said there's no proof of these allegations. A case was booked against Unni Mukundan in May for allegedly assaulting his former PR manager. No proof Unni Mukundan assaulted Vipin Kumar, say police The report states that the police submitted the chargesheet against Unni in court and declared that they found no proof that the actor had assaulted Vipin. They also stated that the altercation between the two was limited to a scuffle and does not amount to violent assault. The chargesheet notes that during the scuffle, Vipin's spectacles fell and broke, and minor injuries might have been sustained, but there was no intent to harm. The CCTV footage of the area also did not show any evidence towards what was alleged by Vipin, as per the police report. What happened On 26 May, an FIR was registered against Unni under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint by Vipin. Vipin alleged that Unni had verbally and physically abused him near his home. He alleged that he was punched in the basement of his home in Kochi in a meeting initiated by Unni. Vipin also alleged that there was a threat to his life. Unni called the claims against him false, stating that while it's true there was an argument, they got into a scuffle, and Vipin's glasses broke. He denied that he had been physically abusive to Vipin. Vipin claimed that the altercation took place because Unni got upset over Vipin promoting Tovino Thomas' film Narivetta. Unni filed a counter-report against Vipin and denied all charges. He also posted a screenshot of a chat with Tovino, claiming that all was well between them.

Vipin alleges he was pushed, kicked, verbally abused, and had to seek hospital treatment before filing a police complaint. He also took the matter to FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala). Unni Mukundan, in his defence, has categorically denied the assault, calling the complaint 'malicious and baseless.' He admitted to throwing a mirror in frustration, but denied any physical violence. The matter has been thoroughly resolved and full administrative control has been restored."

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 9 (ANI): Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has confirmed that his official Instagram account, which was hacked on Tuesday, has now been fully recovered and is secure. The actor took to his Instagram Stories to share the update and thanked his followers and the Meta team for their support. In a detailed message, Unni stated that he was "pleased to confirm" his account had been successfully recovered. "I'm pleased to confirm that my official Instagram account @iamunnimukundan has been successfully recovered and is now fully secure. The matter has been thoroughly resolved, and full administrative control has been restored," his post read. The actor went on to express his appreciation to the Meta team for their "prompt action, technical expertise, and steadfast support" in resolving the issue. He also thanked his fans for staying cautious and showing concern during the hacking incident. "I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Meta team for their prompt action, technical expertise, and steadfast support in resolving the issue and safeguarding the account," wrote Unni. "To everyone who remained cautious, refrained from engaging with any suspicious activity, and reached out with concern--thank you for your trust, patience, and continued support," he further added. Earlier on Tuesday, Unni had informed his fans that Instagram had been hacked and also warned them not to interact with any posts, messages, or links coming from his account at the time. In his alert post, the actor wrote, "My official Instagram account @iamunnimukundan has been hacked!![?] Any updates, DMs, stories, or content going out from that account are not from me--they are being posted by the hackers. Please do NOT engage, click on any suspicious links, or share personal information in response to anything from that account at this time." (ANI)
